I keep seeing people say to put room requests on the actual reservation-but I haven't seen that option.
Tips?
Tips?
I contacted them-but is there a way to input it while you are making your reservation?
I used the online email tool to ask for a room request on Wed (now 4 days ago) and haven't received any reply other than the automated email saying they received it. Is this normal? True I didn't put the actual reservation number because I didn't have it handy, but I did put the check in date and resort, and the form lists my member number, so I thought that was enough. Now wondering if I should send another one or wait another few days or what.
The automated response says that it can take 5 business days. They are slow but I have never had them make an error or not add the request to the reservation. When calling to add the request, we have had MS not add the request even though they acted on the phone like they did. This would make me call twice, once to add the request and a call back to verify that they really did add the request.

Is it true that if you put in a room request during online check in, it "cancels" out the request you already made with member services??
Awesome thanks! So basically, I gave MS my room request and I verified it is on the reservation. When I do online check in in MDE, should i just not check anything off on the room request section?
When should I put that request in? Closer to trip or right away?

It probably doesn't matter much, as long as you do it at least 10 days for the trip begins. I was told once many, many years ago that they look at room requests about 5 days in advance. They DO try to fill them as best they can, because such a small fraction of guests put in true room requests. (Beyond - "lower floor" "close to main building" type requests.) My opinion with room requests is you are generally never going to get a specific "room", because even if they are willing to do it, you only have about a 10% chance that room is unoccupied the day you arrive. I personally have put in a room request at POFQ, Pop, and CBR, usually I request a certain building(s) and each time I have gotten the request. In October, we did our first DVC trip, and I requested and was given Congress Park. Again, that's a pretty broad request, but we wanted to be close to DTD for bus access, and it worked out perfect. Our next trip coming up I put in a room request for a range of rooms at the Beach Club. (Room XX27 to XX35) mostly to be close to the front of the resort - my requests tend to be about minimizing the amount of walking I have to do. This may be a bit trickier, because there were only like 16 studios in the room range I gave, some of those being lock-offs, so at best it's only about 15% of the available rooms. There's good odds that at least 2 of those rooms will be available when we arrive, so with any luck we will get one.
