When do things slow down at Hilton Head? We are off season travelers when we can make it work. (Hate crowds and super hot weather) We were thinking about the first full week after Labor Day, but is that still a busy time?Weather wise, we were thinking as late as early October.
Any suggestions?

We've been told that it completely drops off after Labor Day. I don't know about September weather, but CMs there who we've talked to about weather, said that the best weather is in October. When we go in late November, it's often a little too cool then, but the lack of crowds is definitely worth it to us.

We were just there the first week in October for our anniversary.

The place felt almost empty. It was very uncrowded--adult couples, a few with toddlers. The pool at the beach house never had more than four or five couples or small groups. The beach was also very uncrowded--loved sitting at the water's edge as the sun went down (watch for pods of dolphins playing in the surf about that time). It seemed the pool at the resort had a slightly bigger crowd but still not crowded.

The weather was still hot--high 80s with lots of humidity. A few of our days were mostly cloudy or it would have felt even hotter with full sun. Took a day trip to Savannah and it felt very hot walking around the city.

It was a lovely time to be there; very relaxing.
