When do the parks really close?

I was wondering when the CMs start kicking people out of the park. The other day MK was listed as a 10pm close. I know that some of the Main Street stores remain open for some time after 10pm. But post-fireworks I saw people sit down with full quick service meals at outdoor tables off of Main Street.

How long can you stay in the park before the CMs kick you out? Are you limited to the Main Street area or do they shoo you out of other areas sooner? Is it the same at the other parks?

Thanks!

last trip we stayed at epcot until almost 11. After illuminations we didn't want to head down to the busses right away. We stopped in the store right between FW and ws. (I forgot the name) . Cast member slowly started to close the doors one at a time and around 10:30 they stopped letting people in. They never did kick us out but when we noticed they were closing up we bought our items and left.

In theory, indefinitely. They will not kick you out, but they won't let you go deeper into the park either and obviously stores will close in time. Most get the hint.

Depending on where you are at closing, you will be asked to go towards the main area. For instance, in Fantasyland, we start clearing the area right at park close, buffering everyone towards Main St. We have cast stationed at the entrances of Fantasyland stopping people from coming back into the area. Fantasyland in general is clear of all guests by a half-hour after park close, sometimes later depending on Mine Train's line. No idea about the rest of the park though...

Epcot starts clearing at 10pm. The CMs start at America and one set walks left clearing each country and the other walks right. While this is going on the future world CMs are working on ckearing their day guests. The WSC CMs set that went towards Mexico will hold at the World Showcase Plaza until given the clear that Future World East and West as well as Mouse Gears is cleared. The group go8ng towards Canada will hold at the International Gatewat Bridge until give that all clear. Once they are given the all clear they continue around to Canada meeting up with the other team and do the final sweep.

At no point are you soecifically told to leave until it gets to be way past closing. So if it is say 11:30 and the clearing crew is still stuck in one of the back countries Management comes out and starts telling people politely that is time to leave. If it is the front of the park that they are heald it is usually around Midnight that youbget the firm boot as that is a good 2 hours after a reasonable time you should be out and an hour past you really over ataying your welcome.

Side note you do not want to be the person who is kicked out. I had one dad look me in the eyes and say what's the rush it isn't like you have anything to go home to. At that point my cowoker looked at him and said actually I have a 3 year old who would have really liked mommy to tuck him in but I'm here working instead.

Wow! I bet you have to deal with some real jerks! Why in the world would someone want to stay in Epcot until midnight way past all the rides and shops closing???

How long do you have for stories. I was with the closing team at Epcot for almost 2 years. Sadly new seasonal rules made it too hard for me to keep up since I moved out of state but man it was worth it.

One guy was high and lost. He kept pushing past CMs and security and running on and off stage trying to get back to the Swan. We chased him for an hours.

One was a family who kept saying that i5 was their kids when really we watched mom and dad stop to chain smoke in the park at every smoking section from France to the exit.

Another was a family who spent 3 hours looking at their photopass photos. They started at roughly 9:30 (according to photopass workers who were there) and when we got to the front at 11 where still inside. Seems grandma got a package so all the aunties, uncles, and kids had to choose what photos across 4 families should go on the print package. Management finally let our team of 4 go home at 12:30 and he would deal with the rougw family.

I can understand staying an hour or less after close since the bus's get backed up. But anything after an hour i think is a little rude to the employees. They may have plans after there scheduled time to be off or plans in the morning that may be affected by having to work another hour or two.

Or another shift. Thanks to day guests holding me until midnight I got double back pay (less than 8 hours between shifts) because I was opening Epcot the next day which is usually a 730 shift.

Thanks for the replies :-) No plans on staying way after close, but was curious. I didn't expect people to be sitting down for a dinner after fireworks. But it would be nice to wait til most of the crowds are gone for good photos!

Yes, they will kick you out. You cannot stay indefinitely

One day we were at the MK when the park closed at 10. We watched the 10pm Electric Light Parade then hit Casey's right before it closed (I think 10:30). The castle did the kiss good night at 11 pm and as we were walking down Main Street to leave it looked as though all the doors of the gift shops were locked. So I'd say at MK probably an hour after official close.

DITTO.

A friend I I were lingering at MK 3 years ago (her knees were really hurting) and we had a CM tell us very politely that we would have to leave . It was ~20 min post fireworks. He escorted us out of FL, through castle, to Main Street where we and other guests we kindly informed we would be exiting.

Keep in mind that on special party nights (MNSSHP, MVMCP) at MK, they close the shops up at closing time (12:00am). There is not an extra hour for shopping on Main Street or eating a quick meal from Casey's. They politely give you the impression that it's time to move on out....party's over....
