When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

Count me in to the crappy week club. I admit I went over my points on two of the seven days, but still. I did use all my flex and didn't do well with the water and only excercised four days, so I guess there is my answer. I also forgot to check if my points were lower, and I bet they are...:scared:
I'm up +2lbs. this week. :sad1:

Bree, I like your idea For suggestions that help us lose.

*Breakfast is a major issue for me, which is why I have mainly stuck to cream of wheat (that I spice up with Splenda and cinnamon) and half of a grapefruit (with splenda), it holds me until lunchtime with no cravings. Most traditional breakfast foods just make me STARVING by midmorning. I used to skip breakfast when I dieted, but I know this is a major no-no, so I've worked out this alternative that works for me (most of the time).

*For whatever reason, warm drinks just make me feel full and more satisfied, so I make warm lemonade (diet) as a treat. I've also bought the diet apple cider mixes from time to time.

*Like you, veggies are a big one for me. I eat a LOT. I'm ashamed to admit it, but like, an entire bag of the steamable veggies in one sitting. Tons of food, very low points. (My only issue with this is, I just can't eat veggies as a "snack." I pretty much reserve them for meal times so I don't snack much between meals or if I do, they aren't the best choices.)

*Carbs are my worst enemy. The minute I eat one, I am craving them for days again. I really try to restrict myself to just simple/plain bread/crackers/rice/un-sweetened cereal/potatoes. I can't do snack packs of cookies, for example. Puts me completely out of control.

Here are a couple low point "go to" snacks for when I'm feeling the munchies (that I obviously did NOT go to this week :sad2:):

*Suger Free Jello. Add fruit if you need more "bulk" or add fat free whipped topping just to make it less boring.

*Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt, with a couple strawberries and a tablespoon or two of granola. Makes a pretty and tasty parfait.

*Using the lite bread, egg beaters and fat free cheese, I get a very filling (and tasty) sandwich.

*Any Lite soup. Something about the warmth makes it very filling and satisfying.

Hope these help somebody. I don't really have advice for weeks like this, where I just don't follow the tips I already know. The cooler months are always difficult for me, I just don't enjoy walking when it's cold and I get so sleepy and lazy when the sun isn't out and warming things up.

I'm actually considering "treating" myself to a short tanning session on Saturdays to see if this will improve my mood. I know it's bad, but it makes me feel better and I actually had a nurse suggest it for improving the winter doldrums I always seem to suffer from. :confused3 Couldn't hurt to try, at least a couple times??

I'm in food pornatopia right now watching an episode of Unwrapped on
Food Network. Apparently there is this late night food truck in L.A. called the grilled cheese truck that has this huge following. Their specialty? A mac & cheese, pulled pork, carmelized onion grilled cheese! Drooool!
Doesn't that sound gross & divine at the same time? I want one!!! Think the fat would show up on my hiney the next day????

Love all the input on snacks that help us get over the hump.

Barb - I can't believe you only get 20-19 points a day! Do you add some flex points each day or do you stay in that range? If so, no wonder you're turning orange from all the carrots. What are your plans when you reach your goal, will you continue to eat the same way? Meaning only 20 points a day? Am I asking enough questions?? So proud of you for only having 4 pounds left. That's very inspiring to me who has only 10 left.
Another thing i do with veggies is dip them in light sour cream (daisy brand is my fave, so thick & creamy) mixed with a pack of ranch dressing powder. Light sour cream is only 1 point for 3 tbs, & I think the powder is 0, if it's not it's barely 1/2 point so I say it's 0. I will set out a plate of veggies & dip while I'm making dinner so I'm not tempted to eat dinner while I'm cooking it, plus it helps my family eat a couple helpings of veggies too.

Julie - I'm a creature of habit too, & pretty much eat the same things all the time. That's probably why I get so burned out on WW after 4-6 weeks.
I also eat apples, yogurt & 0 point soup (per your suggestion) I actually made the mexican inspired version today. I tweaked it just a little but still keeping it within the 0 point range. Yummy, but spicy. I find though that the spicier the food, the fuller & more satisfied I get. It's good you're eating protein, your muscles need it to rebuild from all the exercise you're doing.

Indimom - I understand about carbs. My "trigger food" is chips. Once I start, I can not stop eating them. I like sugar-free jell-o too, & try to keep it on hand for a dessert option.

Sounds like we've all had an off week. Must be the weather change. I tend to want to eat when it gets cool. I think it's the whole storing up fat for winter thing. Weird, b/c it's still in the mid 80s here right now :lmao:

Ok so here's what I've eaten so far today

brkfst - grits w/tsp yogurt spread, coffee w/creamer
lunch - 2oz deli turkey, 5 crackers w/laughing cow wedge, 1 serving 0 point soup (mexican version)
snack - bell peppers, w/sour cream ranch dip
dinner - grilled pork tenderlion w/black bean salad (WW recipe), 1/2 brown rice.

Still have about 5 points left for the day, so I may have a little dessert.

exercise - ran 4 miles

Bree-thanks for the information...AVOID "UNWRAPPED" AT ALL COSTS!!! I think that sounds too good (and, yeah, gross at the same time :lmao:).

Well, I checked, and sure enough my points have dropped more than a little so that's part of my issue. I think I was avoiding checking. So my new daily points are 22. I prefer the range system to the flex system. So, 22-24 is my daily range. Down three points, makes me want to cry.
I also discovered another reason for my not-so-great week. DUH! Once the baby-factory closed, I quit tracking my cycle, but usually have a pretty good idea when to expect mother nature's return each month. I guess I've had my mind occupied this last month because I totally didn't realize I was PMSing. :headache: Not that it's any excuse, but still. I feel better about it now. I just need to get back on track and get back in the game.

10/18/10
Breakfast: coffee, 2 cinammon rolls. 10pts.
Lunch: succatash, chicken fajita. 8pts.
Dinner: panini, green beans. 6pts.
Total: 24 pts.
Excersie: 0. My sis is out of town this week and I was trying to get the laundry done, so I didn't go. But I'll get back on it tonight.
Water: 50 oz. A little low. I'll try to push it today.

I'm only down -0.4 this week, but I do have a milestone to report:

Last night I made NY Strip for dinner and made baked homemade fries for a side. I cut my steak in half and only ate one half. I left the other half in the kitchen!! (I would have eaten it if I put it on my plate!) I also baked my potato instead of eating the fries! I just put a little country crock light on it. (I left my butter spray at the studio!) The down side was I did eat all of my bread, but I feel really good about the couple of hundred calories I left in the kitchen. :hippie:

Only 9 pounds to go to get under 200, and 34 to go to my Disney goal!
(Disney goal is not my final goal, but baby steps!)

So, my real food downfall is breakfast. I really need to eat something in the morning to keep me from grazing! Yesterday and today - yogurt. But man, that gets old and it doesn't really fill me up.
Man, I was running early this morning (SHOCK!) and it was so tempting to go to Fagan's Biscuit Barn - but I didn't.

Also had stitches in my back, so I couldn't work out for the past 2 weeks! Been just walking at the park about every day to make up for it. So frustrating - but the stitches are gone as of yesterday afternoon!

YAWN - I think the next thing I need to work on is my sleep, I am just not getting enough each night during the week!

Some days I just can't watch Food Network because of shows like that. DDD is another "bad" one. All the stuff they show looks so darn tasty and I want to go to all of these places and pig out!

You know, I haven't really thought about what I'm going to do when I reach my goal. Right now I don't use any of my exercise points and rarely use any of my flext points. But once I'm at my goal, I don't know. I mean, I can't go back to eating the way I did before because that's what made me gain in the first place. And I don't know how maintenance works - do you keep the same number of points? I guess I'll figure it out when I get there.

I have thought of maintenance, though. I'm worried that keeping weight off at my goal weight is unrealistic for me. So part of me wants to stop here and just try to maintain. The other part of me thinks that is giving up too easily.

Bree-thanks for the information...AVOID "UNWRAPPED" AT ALL COSTS!!! I think that sounds too good (and, yeah, gross at the same time :lmao:).

That happened to me, too. I didn't adjust my daily points after losing weight, so I got stuck. Once I made the adjustment the weight started coming off again. It really is kind of sad losing those daily points, isn't it?

(Disney goal is not my final goal, but baby steps!)

Good job leaving the extras in the kitchen! I love a good NY Strip steak, so I started splitting one with one of the kids (rather than eating the entire thing myself, which I would be more than happy to do). For baked potatoes I discovered fat free sour cream and salsa - YUM!!! Sometimes if I have lots of points that day I'll add reduced fat cheese, but I"m OK without the cheese if it means more steak for me.

So, my real food downfall is breakfast. I really need to eat something in the morning to keep me from grazing! Yesterday and today - yogurt. But man, that gets old and it doesn't really fill me up.

YAWN - I think the next thing I need to work on is my sleep, I am just not getting enough each night during the week!

I hear ya on the more sleep thing. Yesterday afternoon I got so tired. My son told me I needed to go to bed earlier, then sleep later and skip my workout for one day. Sounded heavenly to me, but I went ahead and got up early today anyway.

I'm another one who is a carb-a-holic. Love 'em. And I'm also a creature of routine because I just get tired of having to calculate points for all kinds of new recipes all the time. So I stick to standards for breakfast and lunch, then save my experimenting for dinner. My favorite breakfast is multi-grain Cheerios with milk (saving a little bit of milk in the bowl for the cat). For a while I was having some yogurt with some Special K Granola in it, but I found myself snacking on the granola all day long (that stuff is like crack) so I stopped buying it.

OK, so we're all kind of in a rut these days. I know it kind of feels like running in sand right now but even if it doesn't feel like we're going anywhere, we ARE moving forward slowly. So don't give up now! Pretty soon we'll all be :beach:

This is awesome, Emily!!

I totally think that we should make a habit of posting our Non Scale Victories on here. I know I fixate entirely too much on what the scale says and I find that when I have a bad weigh in or even just a smaller loss than I had hoped...it sours my entire day. I refuse to let that happen any longer.

I do the same thing...cut my steak in half before I put it on my plate. Of course this means that sometimes DH eats his entire steak and then goes back for the other half of mine (instead of just saving the leftovers for the next day's lunch) but because he's a man and has been running so much every day, he seems to be able to get away with the extra meat. I ask you, how fair is that??

Awesome, awesome job on making healthy choices, one meal at a time!!

How come you had stitches in your back, Lara?

I feel your frustration, I used to have back problems and it was so annoying to get into a good workout groove only to have it thrown off and have to resort to walking for a bit. I hate that!! So glad the stitches are out and you can get back to your routine.

I sure hope you can get your sleeping schedule adjusted so you get all your beauty sleep!! :thumbsup2

Personal Update:

Yesterday was rough for me. After such a crappy weigh in I was NOT loving myself and I even had the impulse in the middle of the afternoon to skip my workout and order a ton of greasy take out to just eat my blues away. That hasn't happened in a long time. I managed to talk myself out of skipping my workout and after 30 mins of jogging I was beginning to feel much better.

The best news, was that I was no longer interested in eating to improve my mood...the exercise had taken care of that. So, now I have an adequate substitution...I can walk (or jog) away the blues instead of eating them away. :woohoo:

This morning I decided to make a list in my journal of all of my non scale victories. My sister lost 75 pounds on weight watchers and her happiness was all tied up in what the scale said. (It still is, in fact!!) One unexpected reading soured her entire day and she was miserable to everyone about everything!! I am terrified that I am going to experience the same thing, since I'm already showing signs but I've been trying to fight it.

Frankly, I'm not sure I'm ever going to be able to immediately shrug off an unexpected gain but if a loss is smaller than I had hoped, I think I can deal with that.

Here's my list...my Non Scale Victories (NSV) straight from my journal. If I focus on these, the scale will be only be a tracking tool and of secondary importance (I hope).

1. I've lost 11 inches so far.
2. WW is easy to follow and deprives me of nothing so it has staying power, meaning I shall go the distance this time and eventually be at goal.
3. I haven't had any back issues since the beginning of January. :woohoo:
4. I've gone down 2 dress sizes so far
5. I've learned what works for me and have taken back control of my appetite. My cravings no longer control me!! :thumbsup2
6. I have learned to love jogging and am actually considering running in a race!! :cool2:
7. I am improving my flexibility and endurance through exercise.
8. I've made new friends on the WISH boards
9. I am about six weeks away from getting out of the plus sizes. :yay:
10. I am now approx. the same size as I was when I got married. :dance3:

Anyone else have some non scale victories they want to share??

Barb and Bree:

I can help you out a bit with info on what happens on WW when you reach the goal. My sister got down to 22 points a day, reached goal (146) and to maintain she was put back up to 26 points a day. She still got her flex points and exercise points the same as always but I think the formula for daily points allotment isn't set in stone.

According to her leader, you have to add a few back in and then if you are still losing, you add a few more back in until you find the right balance where you neither gain nor lose. Maybe that's why the maintenance period is six weeks, it kind of takes that long to stabilize, I guess.

She was able to maintain at 26 very well and said it was a pleasure to get those few extra points back after having to struggle along with only 22 each day. I'm guessing the process would be the same for everyone.

Barb, you sure sound like you need a little break from eating only 19 points. That's just not enough calories!! If I were you, I'd be adding in three or four points every day from my flex point pool. You'd still be losing but you'd likely feel less deprived.

I'm pretty sure that's what my sister did. I don't think she ate less than 24 points per day for long. When she went down to 22, she said it was just too hard. She did it for two or three weeks I think and then decided that it wasn't worth it. And it didn't seem to come off any slower at 24 points than it had been doing when she was eating only 22.

HTH!!!

Hi everyone! Ok, I'm back from Disney, done with my busy season, and ready to get fully back on board here. I think this is the best time to start because my fridge and cupboards are empty after my vacation so I can go to the grocery tonight and get some good stuff and not have to worry about any "bad" stuff I might have lying around.

I have a non-scale victory to add to the discussion. I was able to walk farther, faster, and with a lot less pain at Disney this trip. I was so surprised at how much better I felt in the parks with only having lost 17 pounds. I guess all that walking on the treadmill is paying off!!! I also found that fit through the turnstyles better AND I didn't need to use a seat belt extender on the plane!! All told, I felt really good about myself on the trip, even though I know I still have a lot to lose.

I still have my goal of losing 50 pounds before I turn 40 in April. I'm on my way. I can't wait to catch back up with all of you!

Hi Guys,
Needed a break from work so here I am. Crazy busy here but we are getting through. Haven't officially weighed in for a couple of weeks but did step on the scale a week and a half ago and fell right back off again. It said that I was +4.4lbs :scared1::scared1: HOW in Hades did that happen! I was eating well (i have had a couple of treats but nothing too out there) and then I realized that I had been lax on my water. So back on the water we got. It is funny though how it said I was +4.4lbs but yet I have lost inches.:confused3

I am the same as most of you. I tend to eat the same for breakfast and lunch and experiment a bit with dinner. I am not a big breakfast eater so tend to have a 35 cal yogurt for breakfast and for some reason I have gotten hooked on 2 pcs of toast with light peanut butter for lunch. It is funny cause I really enjoy it and look forward to it even though I am eating it every day pretty much.

It sounds like the raft has hit stormy seas this week but i hear the weather forcast is bright and sunny for next week so all we have to do is stay on the raft until the storm passes and hopefully we will have smooth sailing the rest of the way. Better get back to work - have a magical day everyone!:wizard:(sorry just wanted to use this smilie)

My NSV for this week (even WITH a gain!) was when my mom finally noticed my weight loss and asked how much I had lost. I really didn't feel like it was enough to notice, so I was tickled.

THEN!! My dad (who never talks about or thinks about weight) adds "Yeah, you girls should stick to that exercising!" With a very positive tone (I could tell he meant my sis and I are both looking great!) Yeah! That felt really good since he really never notices or comments on this type of thing.

Other than that, my clothes feel really good right now, and I'm down about a size and a half. From very tight 16s to loose 14s and a couple 12s that fit! Woo Hoo!!! :woohoo: If I can lose another 20 lbs., I'll be buying new clothes because 12s are the smallest I own. I threw out the rest a couple years ago.

I still have a long way to go to get to my marriage weight and I'm not sure I can. (I wore 6/8s back then. (Yeah, and thought I was fat....youth really is wasted on the young. :sad2:) But, I would be very happy and satisfied in 10s. We'll see. I just don't know how far this raft has to go to get to Skinny Island.

Thanks for the reminder that the scale is just a tool and does not determine the VALUE of my weight loss. How I feel and my health would be a better determining factor and I can feel that improve daily. :dance3:

How come you had stitches in your back, Lara?

A friend stabbed me in the back! ha ha, just kidding. I had a biopsy on a mole, and they had to go back and get more tissue out, bad skin cells.
While this is breast cancer awareness month :debswalk:. (and I just scheduled my first ever mammogram), people don't pay that much attention to skin cancer. I get a full body check once a year! Not my idea of fun, but a procaution I have to take!

I think the non-scale victories are a good thing. When you ahve so much riding on a number like that, you tend to turn to the one thing to console you that I know I have used my whole life - FOOD! I am still trying to make exercise my thing I turn to when I am feeling down, but it just doesn't do the same thing as well, you know, that bad for you stuff.....

So, my non-scale victory today....hmmm, let me get back to you on that. :confused3

Hello everyone!

I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. We got back on the 11th and with the cold that I caught in Floriday I've been so tired every night and on the weekends that I haven't even touched the computer at home.

Today is a quiet day at the office (finally) and I'm going to spend my lunchtime catching up on everything.

Vacation was wonderful and I tried to contain as much as possible with the food intake, but once we got home the resolve flew out the window. I didn't even want to get on the scale this morning. I think I'll wait till next Monday to see what the damage is. I'm in the midst of drinking gallons of cranberry juice and I need to get that out of my system before I step on the scale.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Woah - she got 22 points for 146 pounds? I weigh more than that and I only get 20. Is there a point conversion from American to Canadian, like with the dollar? Are these Canadian points? ;)

I'm looking forward to having a few extra points each day. I'm assuming I'm losing slower now because I need to add a few flex points in from time to time. And with camping this weekend, and other dens doing the cooking for us, I'm sure I'm going to use a few flex points then.

I think my biggest NSV is my size. I've gone from a tight 16 to a comfortable 10, so comfortable I wonder if I should be trying on 8s. Nah, I've never worn single-digit sizes in my life! I'd be happy staying at a 10 for a while.

Awesome NSV Stacy!! Actually, that was three!! I'm so glad you were able to experience so many positive things on your trip that were related to weight loss and healthy living! Keep up the good work!! :cool1:

It sounds like the raft has hit stormy seas this week but i hear the weather forcast is bright and sunny for next week so all we have to do is stay on the raft until the storm passes and hopefully we will have smooth sailing the rest of the way. Better get back to work - have a magical day everyone!:wizard:(sorry just wanted to use this smilie)

Thanks for the smilie. I needed it! I think the PB toast sounds awesome. No wonder you look forward to having it each day. Thanks for the weather forecast...that made me smile.

I know what you mean about being up that much. It pretty much happened to me this week, although I credit the amount of food and the fact that it was so very high in sodium as my reason but man! Gaining over four pounds in 48 hours is nuts!! Yet that is exactly what happened to me. Here's hoping those pounds come off as quickly as they went on for both of us!! :thumbsup2

Again, that's like FOUR NSV's Susan!! I'm so proud of us. It's so easy to be positive when we have one another to lean on.

I'm so glad your family is being so supportive and that you can see the other positive changes in your size and overall health. :yay:

A friend stabbed me in the back!

Oh my gosh, THAT made me laugh out loud!! Too funny!! :lmao:

So, my non-scale victory today....hmmm, let me get back to you on that. :confused3

Yeah, in my case it required like 16 hours of contemplation (okay I was sleeping for half of that, but you know what I mean...) so you take as long as you need!

Glad you're back and can't wait to hear all about your vacation!!

Isn't that just how it goes, you do well while gone and then come home and make a mess of things. I used to do that all the time. I'm hoping I can avoid it for our next vacation but only time will tell.

The scale has made enemies of several of us this week so no one is going to blame you for taking a little extra time before checking it with it again. Hope it's nice to you next week!! :)

Woah - she got 22 points for 146 pounds? I weigh more than that and I only get 20. Is there a point conversion from American to Canadian, like with the dollar? Are these Canadian points? ;)

:rotfl2: Too funny! Yeah, I thought it was really weird that your points were so low and I was sure that she was supposed to go down to 20 points once she cleared 150 but she said they changed the program a little a you get a few more points now than you did a few years ago. :confused3

I think my biggest NSV is my size. I've gone from a tight 16 to a comfortable 10, so comfortable I wonder if I should be trying on 8s. Nah, I've never worn single-digit sizes in my life! I'd be happy staying at a 10 for a while.

Well, that's all the more reason to go try ON the 8's. Aren't you the least bit interested to see exactly what you're dealing with in terms of how well they fit?? :cheer2:

Man, I'd be all over them!! I'm hoping to get to size 8 ultimately. Like you, I'd be happy staying at ten (I'd be happy to permanently reside at size 10) but I'm shooting for an 8 just for fun. I was a teenager the last time I wore size 9 so going a bit smaller would be a serious victory indeed!!

Thanks for picking up on the NSV idea ladies, I feel so special that I started something on here for once!! :woohoo:

Ha :rotfl2: this made me crack up! My DH was watching tv when I started laughing & my laugh wasn't appropriate. :happytv: I had to explain....anyway, guess you had to be there.

Julie - I love your NSV, what a great idea. I think that mine is that all my jeans are baggy on me now. In fact I used to have to wear....ummm you know the "floss" kind of undies w/jeans so I wouldn't have VPL, but now I don't have to anymore. That's probably stupid, but it makes me happy. I joke that I now don't have to buy any of the "boyfriend" jeans that are popular b/c all my jeans look like that on me now. Also I have to wear long shirts with my slacks to church on Sundays b/c they all look like MC Hammer pants on me with the low hanging crotch......everybody now HAMMER, GO HAMMER!! Anyway....

Barb - I'm with you on trying 8s. In February I was wearing a 12 comfortably, my 10s were uncomfortable, but now all my 10s are too big, but I'm scared to try 8s. What if they don't fit? I won't see the 18 pound loss I've had, all I'll see is that I'm not where I want to be.

Jane & Stacey - Welcome back from vacation. I don't know how you managed to eat well at WDW. I am already dreaming of all the goodies I'm going to eat while I'm down there in January. I read the restaurant boards all the time to get a disney food porn fix. Jane, sorry you're sick, hope you recover soon!

Stitch - Like the weather forecast. I'm betting that your gain is water weight too. I'm like a flippin camel when it comes to water retention. Drink lots of water & exercise enough to sweat the next few days & I bet you'll see it come right off. (that goes for you too Julie)

Indi - WTG on getting some compliments on your weight loss. It makes us feel good to hear that people notice doesn't it? I had the guy at the running store I go to all the time comment on my weight loss today. Not in a creepy way, but just that "hey, you've lost a lot of weight, you look great" Totally made my day! And I'm also trying to reach my wedding day weight. 10 more to go, 10 more to go, 10 more to go........

lara - I have to get the skin cancer check every year too, usually completel w/biopsies. Not a fun experience, & I'm cursing myself for all the time I spent in the tanning bed as a teenager.

Tues -
bkfst - apple, coffee w/creamer ( I know not much, I was in a rush to get DS ready for pre-school & get myself to the pool for a swim)
snack - 1/2 cup cottage cheese
lunch - 2oz. deli turkey, laughing cow wedge w/5 crackers, 1 serving mexican inspired 0 point soup
dinner - jennie-o turkey burger on an arnold thin, a TON of veggies, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup black bean salad

Points total 20.5

10/19 done
veggies done

exercise - swam 2000 meters.

10/19/10
Breakfast: cream of wheat, coffee, grapefruit. 6pts.
Lunch: brussel sprouts, tuna, melba toast. 6pts.
Dinner: potatoes, green beans, toasted ham & cheese, cauliflower. 10pts.
Total: 22 pts. NOT BAD, I didn't feel deprived. So that's good.
Water: 60 oz. :thumbsup2
Excercise: Not sure how far we went because I walked with a friend in her subdivision since my sis is out of town this week (50 minutes, but I felt like we were going just a little slower than I walk with my sis). This really fell into place for me. My friend normally has three little boys to herself all evening since her hubby works second shift, so walking doesn't work very well for her. But, her hubby is home evenings this week so we got some chat and walk time that otherwise never happens! We're planning to walk again tonight! I love having a partner!!! :yay:

10/19/10 DONE
VEG DONE

Hope everyone has a fantastic day. I want to hear MORE of your Non-Scale Victories!!! Bring em on!!! :cheer2:

Well friends!! I'm having a great day so far, how 'bout y'all??

(Sorry about that...I was missing Aimee and felt the need to channel her for a minute there.) :lmao:

Bree: I LOVE your NSV's!! That's exactly what I think is important...the fact that people are noticing the weight loss and that it shows by the fit of your pants.

GO HAMMER!!! :rotfl:

I must have serious problems because I can't WAIT to try on the next size down...even when I'm certain I'm not there yet. I just like to see how close I'm getting and for me, it works as a motivator and a sort of treat. :confused3 I think part of it is because I'm desperate to get out of the plus sizes so when I try on the 14's and they fit (or nearly so) I get all excited because that's the smallest plus size where I shop!

Incidentally, such activities are part of the reason that I'm in such a good mood. I spent nearly an hour this morning trying on everything in my closet that was in the "not quite yet" section and I was excited that I was able to move more than half of the items over into the "fits" section. I haven't lost much in terms of weight since the last "fashion show" (as DH calls these sessions) but I guess the inches are coming off in the right places because I can do more than just get them on!!

:banana::yay::woohoo:

DS and I went for a smallish walk yesterday (about a mile and a half) and he weighs a little bit more than I've lost so far, so just for fun I thought I'd throw him up on my shoulders and carry him for a bit. I was interested to see if I could get a feel for the weight I've lost.

:scared1: Oh my gosh...I carried him about a quarter of a mile and I have NO IDEA how I managed to do anything at my old size. Seriously, it was ridiculous!! No wonder I was most comfortable with my behind on the couch!!

Speaking of which, although I did my jogging workout this morning, I think I'm going to head outside for a long walk (perhaps to the mall :rolleyes1) and take advantage of this lovely weather while it lasts!!

Ciao ladies!!
