What's your romantic night out plan?

:santa: During our December trip, we are leaving kids w/ sitters one night and going out as a couple for a dinner and fireworks (or anything romantic for that matter).

What's your romantic night out at WDW?

I've read about California Grill and go to the observation deck, Ohana then the Poly beach, one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridan then beach or marina, or any other combinations? If you've tried any of them, would you elaborate more on your experience? If you have other suggestions/ideas, please let me know!

Mostly looking for non-park activities, but if you have a killer park night out plan, I would love to know that too!

TIA!

For our 25th anniversary last year, DH and I went to Fulton's at Downtown Disney for dinner, then strolled around and then went to the Poly to watch the fireworks from the beach. We thought of doing a fireworks cruise, but the only night we could do it, it was not available. Several people have suggested a horse carriage ride (we chose not to because I'm not real fond of horses).

My partner and I are having one "date night" out because Grammy is keeping the kids for us that evening. We'll be there during the Food and Wine Festival, so we'll be cruising our way through Epcot, sampling lots of delicious food and beverages and we also have reservations late at Teppan Edo. It's not extremely "romantic" per se, but I know we'll have a blast with a little bit of adult time at Disney!

If you really want to surprise your significant other, have some groceries delivered to your room. Some wine, champagne or non-alcoholic bubbly juice, some cheese, crackers, fruit, cakes, etc. and any other tasty treats you may think of. Go rent a pontoon boat, ride over to MK and watch the fireworks while having a nice picnic, just the 2 of you. Smooch alot, I highly recommend it!:thumbsup2

We celebrated our anniversary this summer by having a romantic dinner at the California Grill and then watching the fireworks on the observation deck. Later that evening took a romantic stroll at the Grand Floridian. The food at the California Grill was fabulous and they had a great selection of wine. The dessert was simply awesome. The romantic stroll at the Grand Floridian was very quiet, relaxing and magical. :thumbsup2 Depending on how much time you have, you might consider having a couples spa treatment at the Grand Floridian first and then heading off to the California Grill for dinner and the fireworks. We did that on the Wonder, couples spa treatment followed by a romantic dinner at Palo and a romantic stroll around the ship. Hope that helps and have a wonderful anniversary celebration.:smickey:

We're having dinner at Cali Grill, and then we're going on an Illuminations cruise. (Well fingers crossed on the above, Monday's ADR day for me.)

For my wife's 27th B-day we are having Dinner at the Cali Grill followed by Firworks then stroll around resorts. The best part is that this is all a surprise to her, all she knows is that we are going to WDW for vacation around her b-day.

The Poly beach is beautiful for EWP and Wishes, but I don't consider 'Ohana very "romantic"...It is loud and bustling, with lots of games for kids, it is a big family favorite. The view of the castle is great, if you're seated at the right table. I'm saying for one romantic night out, I would NOT choose 'Ohana. It's easy to monorail over to Poly from either GF or CR after dinner.

I really like this idea! :lovestruc
I can't even tell you how excited I am to go away with DH (three weeks today!!) to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Five fun filled days together, adult time....sounds like heaven (we have four kids so these moments are few and far inbetween!) :cloud9:

When people say "oh, your going away...where are you going?" and I tell them Disney they get this confused look on their face. Non-dis'ers just don't get it! :confused3

You are right! When people asked me where we were going last year to celebrate our 25th, they all assumed we'd be going back to Hawaii or a cruise or something. They just couldn't understand our desire to go "home." Like you said, Non-diser's just don't get it. And, by the way, have a wonderful 10th anniversary celebration.

This December we're getting a sitter and heading over to Epcot. We're going to have dinner at Tutto Italia, attend the Candlelight Processional, have dessert, then watch Illuminations.

Any suggestions for where we should grab some dessert?

I'll have to remember this for next time! Whats included with this?

We were at POR-Riverside for our anniversary two years ago.

We did the horse/carriage ride and then dinner there at Boatwrights. Then we slipped into our suits and hit the hotub there. We go lucky and just one other couple (doing same thing, left kids with in laws) were in the tub with us and we ended up drinking too much, swapping stories and having a great night.

Please...my in-laws are the worst with this! They took my husband and his siblings back in 1986 and take the stance that "they've been there". No matter how much we rave about what we've experienced, learned, seen, tasted and done for the first time (after many trips) they are just too bull-headed and anti-commercialism to be open minded. And as such, they miss out on a lot...not just Disney. It used to bother me and make me feel a little embarrassed for saying we are going again-I got over that quick!

My wife and I just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary, by going to Disney, and we took our 4 kids. We were there Aug 16-22, our first trip. Yeah for free dining!!!!:woohoo: Anyways, I made one night "date night" with my wife. Since I made the ADR's, she didnt know anything about it. I set up a horse drawn carriage ride at Port Orleans-riverside, POR, and then made an ADR at Boatwright's, maybe not the best restaurant at Disney, but it was nice and had a nice menu. I did this because I didnt want to have to eat at a different resort and then travel to POR for the carriage ride.
On that night we took the bus to DTD, then rode the boat to POR, had dinner, took the carriage ride , then took the boat back to DTD, then the bus back to the resort. A very nice night.

Four children in 10 year! You deserve a month at WDW.

My wife and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary and find a way a few days a year to spend time at WDW alone. We have five children although one is out on his own. This year we stayed at the Inn Keepers Club at the Boardwalk.

In the past we've done the carriage ride at POFQ, California Grill (rained out on the fireworks), this year we ate dinner at Flying Fish - and had choc covered strawberries in the lounge then watched illuminations from the lounge balcony. Our favorite thus far has been the fireworks cruise that we took on our honeymoon in 05'.

Wine with choc covered strawberries, and an hour tour before the fireworks show with a navigator who had 30 years at WDW were a bonus. They piped in audio for the show. The boat had two reclined seats so we layed back, held hands, and enjoyed wishes. It was fantastic!

It really is two separate experiences as I'm asked often when we are alone being with kids and without. We love both but understand we need both to bond with each other and our children...

That's our story - try the cruise you won't be disappointed...
