What's the last concert you went to?

How were they? DH won tickets from a local radio station to see them on the 23rd. Traffic is also touring with them. Still waiting for the tickets to come in. I'm assuming Denis DeYoung is not singing with the Styx.

My last concert was Duran Duran (all 5 original members) in 2006.

You are correct, Dennis DeYoung has not been with Styx since 1999. Typical rock band break up. But Tommy Shaw is still there and the band is aging really, really well. They still have energy and definitely are not just going through the motions. Some folks like and others don't like DDY's replacement...they opted to NOT go with a sound/look alike, but rather a talented musician who can carry his weight musically as well as putting on a good show. Obviously, I like the guy, LOL. Name is Lawrence Gown, he had much success as a soloist in Canada. The current drummer (original John Panazzo passed away in '96 or '97) is tremendous.

DDY is also out touring with a band under his name. He has done shows with orchestral arrangements over the years but now seems to have settled in with great musicians who put on a good show and can do honor to the music. DDY still has the voice and the shows are fun.

We are seeing them in MI July 17th. Can't wait!

Pine Knob! OK, DTE, but still Pine Knob in my world! I hope to be there as well, but as I hate the pavilion there, I am waiting to see the weather and then will hit the lawn. Never have seen DL, but I have seen Styx a crazy amount of times:rockband:

My last concert was in May. My son's last concert with his high school before graduation. He surprised us by singing Uptown Funk with the Jazz Band while the other band members sang back-up from the audience. They don't even usually have any singers! And he rocked the place, moves and all. :-) Sorry for the brag, I just couldn't resist as it was a such a high point for us. :o

Last professional concert was Styx and Foreigner last summer and Mannheim Steamroller last Christmas.

The last concert I went to was Gin Blossoms, DH surprised me with tickets for Valentine's Day! It was a great show but I am really excited for my next concert...Foo Fighters on Monday! :)

Pine Knob rules! It will never be known as DTE for me. Wouldn't that be funny if we crossed paths at the concert? We have pavilion seats again. I don't like to chance it if it rains.

Saw Styx at Windsor Casino 2 years ago. Def Leppard last summer with Cheap Trick at The Pine. Def Leppard is definitely worth the money. They put on a performance as if they're still in their 20's. Awesome band!

Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield, 4th of July.
Opening act was Rascal Flatts.

Next concert is Rod Stewart on July 24.

Then Happy Together tour August 29.

And finally The Who in Chicago, October 15.

The Stones were awesome, weren't they. Amazing they can still perform like that non-stop at their age. Just incredible!

Speaking of Detroit my DS and wife are flying up here from Oklahoma to see ACDC in early September.

Last one I went to was Jingle Ball ...so it had a bunch of people. One republic, Ariana Grande(blah), Jessie J(she had a really good voice), Iggy(eh), Nick Jonas(he was really good!), some mendes kid that the girls loved and I thought he was awful, Sam smith(great voice)..I think there were others too . It was very loud with all the teenage girls. I just drank to tune it out..lol

I very rarely go to concerts so a few weeks ago I don't think I would have been able to remember to answer this question...but I saw Garth Brooks on July 3 in Houston. Fantastic show, lots of fun.

Luke Bryan hahahaha! For the record, I am NOT a country music fan...at all. But my cousin wanted to go and I have to say, it was REALLY fun!!
