"What's the Catch - Do I Not Get Bacon?" - 11/27 - TR started!

Happy Natal (Civic) Day! I wonder if this is like our Labor Day holiday at the end of summer. In any event a holiday with a day off - yay!!

Love the photo of you with your fur babies! :goodvibes

But isn't it fun to start the plans all over? :rotfl2: I've thought similar in the past.... just cut and paste everything over a couple days and yeah.... it doesn't work like that. Sounds like you'll have a Dessert Party to book!

Thanks for sharing the composition hints. It all makes perfect sense and as I've noticed in my own photos, these WDW shots have all been done a million times before, from my vantage point and everything. I love the idea that with manual camera settings you can focus on detail and not have background distract from your subject - especially when there tends to be so much "background" at WDW. Great job Wendy!!

Beautiful pictures!

Don't you love those matter-of-fact revelations from your loved ones that they wanted to do a certain ADR all along? For me, it's usually DD who does that. It doesn't help that the ones she pulls out of her pocket are CRT or BOG! :lmao: Oh well, at least you get to do more Disney planning!! ;)
Thank you!
Oh man, those are the best  especially when DH and I already decided together, in an orderly adult fashion that we would not be doing the party this year! What can you do? It's not like I'm going to say no to the dessert party :thumbsup2

We just call it the Civic holiday here, and I have to work :sad1: A lot of places seem to be staying open here this year, no idea why. Your pictures are beautiful though!! I would love to get out there some day.

It really stinks that it takes you so long to fly down to Orlando, but 7:30 isn't too bad of a time to get there. AKL is so amazing, it is going to blow you away! We spent a lot of time at nights down by the Savannah where they have the fire going, it is beautiful and relaxing, and the CMs there were fantastic during our trip.

Double Digits!!!:cool1:
Johnny had to work today too, my boss on the other hand, is a family man who takes any excuse for a long weekend! :rotfl2:
7:30 isn't too bad an arrival time at all really, much better than midnight which I thought it was going to be.
I can not wait to see all of AKL! Even just going there to eat at Boma is amazing. The fire by the Savannah sounds lovely!

How I miss the maritimes!Your beautiful pics brought a tear to my eye! I promised Shanleigh that one year we are going to fly in and then rent a car, preferable end of Aug beginning of September (my fav time of year).

I can't believe you're in double digits, so happy for you guys! You are gonna love staying at AKL or Kidani, whichever, you will love it! Think of us when you're there :rotfl2:
Hey Jacquie! If you ever get to my island let me know, I'd love to visit and show you around :thumbsup2
Double digits came up really fast! We're in Jambo house, I can't wait to see it and stay there.

Hi Brenda!
Nah, we have labour day too, first Monday in September, this is just a "August-doesn't-have-a-holiday-so-we-need-a-long-weekend-in-the-summer-months" type excuse to "Celebrate each province's birthday" hahaha lamest holiday ever, but it's all good.
Thanks :goodvibes
Honestly, I didn't mind the re-planning as much, but I do sort of worry about the watching and waiting for the November fireworks party dates to open and then getting a reservation. We had a hard time last year!
I hope the composition hints can be of use to someone :goodvibes

What amazing photos and such great photo taking tips...Thanks. I love anything that helps me get a better picture and hearing some of these again keeps them in my head especially the framing one..THANKS

very jealous of your less than 100 days. I keep thinking tomorrow I will wake up and find us there as well. Oh well, once school gets started I will be too busy to notice.

FUN FUN

Your girls look like they were having a blast!

Yay for double digits. That is one thing I love about going at the end of January. You look forward to the holidays and it can be a let down when they are over. But then it is like hey, Disney in a few weeks!!!!!

OMG! your pictures are fabulous! Just fabulous!

Nice travel plans. Too bad you have that one long lay over, but I know you'll be fine because at the end of that travel leg you will have arrived! :cool1:

What a gorgeous place! I love the pic of you and your pups. I also love your hoodie!

So I have a small theory... Do you think the cut & paste method doesn't work for us because we love to plan too much?

Beautiful pics - love the ones with the furbabies - they look like they were enjoying the water and just being with you two.

Lovely photo of you and hubby as well.

Oh good - new plans - love it!!

have fun with all the changes:yay:

Whoops... Happy Belated Natal Day right on back! Yup I believe we are alone in that title. I actually went to see the Natal Day Parade yesterday for the first time in years and look at some of the folks I spotted...

I see a lawsuit in the future...

Wait... are you saying the best leg isn't from Sydney to Halifax!!?? Blasphomy!

Yay for Double Digits!

Beautiful pics as usual! :thumbsup2 Your dogs are beautiful.

Woo hoo for being in the double digits! :yay:

I am just loving the Photography 101 tutorials. I even made myself some bulleted notecards with all your tips for my trip.

Thank you, glad you liked the photo tips! Some times the littlest things can really make a big difference in composition. :thumbsup2
Being in the double digits is really crazy, I feel like I just did my ADRs yesterday! It's going by so fast. Hope your wait does too!

My girls love when we go somewhere in the truck, they are such a joy to spend time with!
Hmm, excellent point about going in January! We did debate January and that was on our list of reasons! hahaha I build up to the holidays so much that the let down is especially hard.

Thanks, Mary Ellen!
We weren't too disappointed about the long layover because that's the one where we need the most time to get through customs and meals and everything. Much less than that and we would be too rushed and I really hate that!

What a gorgeous place! I love the pic of you and your pups. I also love your hoodie!

So I have a small theory... Do you think the cut & paste method doesn't work for us because we love to plan too much?
Thanks! Most comfy hoodie ever! Hahaha
Ahh that's probably more truth than anything else. We love to plan so once the plans are made and we have nothing else to do, we throw a wrench into them so we have to re-plan. Makes a lot of sense!

Beautiful pics - love the ones with the furbabies - they look like they were enjoying the water and just being with you two.

Lovely photo of you and hubby as well.

Oh good - new plans - love it!!

have fun with all the changes:yay:
Thanks! Oh my girls love being around the beach or on the trails or really wherever we take them
Haha oh the new plans, I like them but they're pretty jam packed! I just hope we have some time to relax too!

Hahaha oh wow, hopefully we're too far to get in trademark trouble. Our mall had a celebration a few weeks ago and they had "Snow Princess", "Princess beauty" and "Fairy Princess" hahaha, all cheap Disney costumes but no actual direct copyright infringement... :rotfl2:
Oh yes, I just can't wait to get to Halifax!! :rotfl:

Ahhh so happy to be in the double digits! It's going by so fast!
Glad you're enjoying the Photo 101 lessons, I'm glad to know people are getting something out of them!

Yay for catching up! :D
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for my cousin, I appreciate every one of them. I can't believe he still has almost a week until his appointment.
Ahhh flights. We have learned to suck it up I guess! I get bouts of jealousy over some of the flights I see people posting about here but then I remember that I will get there! Hahaha
Free dining was too good to pass up,and we just don't get much out of the festival so it was really a no brainier. And we still have BOG!!
:D I love my shoes!

Haha did you get to see them too? Awesome. We were nervous they would be rained out, so glad we went over for them!
I agree, flights out of here suck anyway, so we got some pretty good ones. Though I wish they still had the Sydney to Toronto flight on! That would cut things down a lot!

Thanks Mary Ellen! The fireworks were some really amazing colours, a great show indeed!
I'm relatively happy with our flights, it's the best we can do and I'm just glad we got them done!
I really can't believe it's August already, where the heck did July go!?

Thank you! And thanks, I wish I had some video of the fireworks, it was a brilliant show!

Yay! :D
Everything is really coming together, especially after last night, we got almost all the details worked out. Such a nice feeling!
Container gardening is so easy, I love it! Hmmm I always wanted to try potatoes but I am also a naturally lazy person so I'm not so sure... Lol
The dress is a dark charcoal grey, with the bright yellow shoes and accessories I think it looks really nice together!

I wish we had a farmshare around here! But my little garden is doing pretty good too.
Our strawberry plants never did produce any berries this year, they are new plants but I don't know if I did something wrong or what. The plants are alive and growing... Oh well! Johnny wants a blueberry bush next year.
So happy everything is working out with the trip, last night we got most things nailed down! And I'm loving the AC!
Those are some good ideas, I was thinking composition would be good. If its dead at work today ill have to write something up!

Congrats on Double Digits!!!

:cool1::cool1:

Thanks so much for sharing your fireworks photos and the fantastic pictures from your island tour. What a beautiful place!

Thanks once again for sharing your photography tips- they will really help when I finally get brave enough to use my new camera! We are going to Mexico in Feb, so it will be my goal to practice lots before then.

My only question- what do you suggest for taking great Food Porn pictures- it's all about the food!

Too funny about the Dessert Party. I was shocked too when I mentioned it to my husband and he actually really wanted to do it. Turned out to be a good choice too, because it poured that night and there is no way we would have stayed for the show if we hadn't been under cover.

I just had a great time catching up on the bulk of your TR...:goodvibes

I'm so glad your plans all worked out-you'll love the Holiday overlays...

& don't even get me started on how awesome the AKL is- its one of my top three favorites and it really is the most unique... YOU're going to love seeing the animals...

I didn't realize the gymnastics you had to do to get a flight to Orlando...:confused3:cool2:

I LOVE your photo lessons... I'm planning on going back and copying them and putting them in a binder...

Double Digits Rock:goodvibes

BTW... loving the photos of Fort Louisbourg and the lighthouses... I'm just a total geek for all of that history and combined with the natural beauty... WOW

Just joining in....

Yahoo for another trip to Disney!!

Sorry to hear about your family, I am sending some prayers.

Love the pictures of your parks, I will have to visit sometime! I am from Ontario and I have seen all out west but the furthest east I have been is Cornwall Ontario. Once my kids get a bit bigger I want to go visit out East. Now I know who to ask when we go. :)

Awesome....Free Dining!! We stayed at AKL in Feb when we went....beautiful resort! We absolutely loved it! Little longer bus rides but other then that it is amazing! For a drink, get the painted Lemur, it's yummy!

Can't wait to read more...

Congrats on Double Digits!!!
:cool1: Thanks!!

I'm very glad you enjoyed them! I'm rather fond of my little island :goodvibes

You're welcome, I'm so happy that so many people are finding them useful!

My only question- what do you suggest for taking great Food Porn pictures- it's all about the food!
Excellent question! I will do a little research and make the next lesson about Food Porn. There's a rising specialty of food photography lately so I'm going on the hunt for some tips.

That was lucky! We had a similar experience when we went, it rained and while we waited it out we ate delicious desserts :goodvibes

Hi Patricia! YAY for being all caught up!!

I'm so glad your plans all worked out-you'll love the Holiday overlays...
Oh I'm so excited! Not a day goes by I don't squeal and jump around at the thought!

& don't even get me started on how awesome the AKL is- its one of my top three favorites and it really is the most unique... YOU're going to love seeing the animals...
I love hearing people say that, it just makes me so much more confident with our resort decision!

I didn't realize the gymnastics you had to do to get a flight to Orlando...:confused3:cool2:
Oh yes, very difficult to get out of here! :rotfl2: It's not as bad during the summer when we have more flights available.

I LOVE your photo lessons... I'm planning on going back and copying them and putting them in a binder...
So glad you like them! Assembling them is a good idea, it's too hard to take everything in all at once (so I learned when I did my Photography course! :rotfl: )

Double Digits Rock:goodvibes

BTW... loving the photos of Fort Louisbourg and the lighthouses... I'm just a total geek for all of that history and combined with the natural beauty... WOW
If you ever make it North East, you'll need to see the Fortress of Louisbourg then, it's a pretty awesome place! :thumbsup2

Just joining in....

Thank you very much, as it turns out we're going to need them.

The furthest West I've been is Toronto so I keep saying I need to get out to see the West! If you do get the chance, I'll give you some insider Eastern tips. :thumbsup2

The painted Lemur? I'll have to remember that one! We're used to staying at Pop Century so we're used to the longer bus rides, from looking at the maps it looks no farther away than that so I think we'll be ok. At home we live in the middle of nowhere and anywhere is a long drive for us so I think we're conditioned to be ok with that! :rotfl2:

Happy Double Digits Day a few days late :)

Checking in to Animal Kingdom Lodge will be amazing!
The days keep ticking by so fast... Soon ill be in the 80's and I still have no idea where days 102-179 went!
I think I'll be literally shivering with excitement when I walk up to the check in desk at AKL!
