What are the rules when making reservations in regards to cancelling them, etc?

We just became members and I want to check on the availability for BCV in November....but I haven't convinced the whole family yet that we need to plan our first trip already
:D

Thanks,

Deb

Points used to make the reservatin are simply returned to your contract if you cancel 31 days or more ahead. They may then be used to make another ressie or banked, subject to normal banking deadlines.

If you cancel within 30 days of arrival, the points go into a holding account- which means they may be used to make a reservation 60 days ahead of time.

If you cancel the day of arrival (or don't show up) the points are used for the entire reservation and may not be retrieved.

Enjoy!

Just one clarification to add to Doc's post. The points are returned if you cancel 31 days out or more, BUT if you've borrowed points for that reservation, those points are NOT returned to their original use year. Once borrowed, they would have to be used by the end of the use year they were borrowed into.

Same deal with banked points. If you think you aren't going and bank your points, they can't be "unbanked" if you change your mind.

You also need to keep in mind your use year. If your use year is December and you cancel November ressies in September, you will get your points back - but you will be past the banking window and will need to use those points before November 31st.
