Regardless of what people (friends/family/boards) tell us, we need to try it (restaurant/hotel/product) ourselves. We all have different tastes, toleration of certain things, etc.
Granted if almost everyone is negative about something, it should tell us something but for me anyway - when there are so many mixed reviews about something/anything, it's nice to form our own opinion. Of course we know that is what we are all giving. Also some place/thing that might be great all the time but might have a bad apple/day/night here and there
