Our cheapest trip was in 2012. We were two adults, and two teens. We stayed four nights/five days. We stayed at Ft. Wilderness in a tent and we had two day park tickets with water parks and more. We spent one day at Epcot, one at DHS, one at BB, and one at TL. Total cost OOP was for five days groceries from Walmart (which wasn't much more than a typical week's groceries) and gas for the drive down. I used Disney Rewards to pay for the campsite and park tickets (and one day snacking around World Showcase). An awesome deal and a fabulous trip! I would happily do a repeat.
Knowing that camping is not for most people, I think you're best way to reduce your cost for the trip, are your food costs. I wouldn't cut back on tickets because it won't save that much and being able to go to the parks every day is huge for us. You could eat breakfast at the resort, pack some snacks for the parks and do one meal in the restaurants for a lot less than your estimate. We did that on our 2010 trip when we stayed for two weeks. That trip cost us $6,000 for food, hotel, park tickets, and transportation. Again, with four Disney adults and 10-Day Hoppers with WP&M. I think we did about 5 sit-down meals and 7 counter-service meals during that trip. The rest came from our cooler.
