Day 18, August 31

Disney Wonder - Room Service Breakfast

This was our second Castaway Cay day! We were both up early to watch the ship dock at Castaway Cay.

Since we wanted to be out on the island as soon as possible we had ordered another room service breakfast. We had asked for 7.30 and 7.30 it was when we heard the knock at the door! :thumbsup2

IMG_6993.jpg

This is what our tray looked like!

IMG_6994.jpg

Jelly, milk, butter and cream cheese

IMG_6995.jpg

A nice tea selection and sugars

IMG_6996.jpg

The fruit bowl was really nice. Cold, juicy and freshly cut! We enjoyed sharing it.

IMG_6997.jpg

Tom wanted to try some chocolate milk and was really surprised that he liked it. ;)

IMG_6998.jpg

We had ordered some toast (for me), a bagel (for Tom) and some plain croissants. All were really nice and yumma!

IMG_6999.jpg

And we had a chocolate croissant as well, which we shared too!

Once we had finished breakfast we just picked up our stuff and it was finally time to leave the ship and head out to Serenity Bay again! :cloud9:

Next up - Disney Wonder - Castaway Air Bar - liquid snacks

Hi Karin

Thank you, Linda!
We did have a wonderful and very laid back Christmas. Hope you had a wonderful holiday too!

Love DCL room service! Very good food and very efficient! And the best way to get a head start on your Castaway Cay day! ;) :goodvibes

There's nothing quite like breakfast in bed to start the day :) Is there a good selection to choose from for breakfast?

Love, love, love the reviews!

We were on the Magic in October and ordered room service for breakfast a few times - again, very punctual and tasty.

My mom loved the tea selections (much better than at WDW).

Great reviews - we're doing a B2B on the Dream next Oct (Oct 30 & Nov 3) so it was interesting to read that they kept everyone in Cove Cafe.

When you say "free drinks" were they the specialty coffee drinks? My mom loves the caramel lattes and the chai lattes from there. :cutie:

Polynesian Resort for some lunch at Captain Cook's.
We used the kiosks and chose the Flatbread of the day,

IMG_6047.jpg

IMG_6048.jpg

which was pulled pork, cheese and onions. It took a little while for our food to come out, but then it was hot and very tasty. The flatbread was crisp and there were not to many pieces of onion. The meat was very tender and went perfectly well with the melted cheese.

**Everything above the next statement was quoted--not sure why it didn't show up as a quote!**

2 weeks ago we went to Captain Cooks and I was so hoping that this pizza would be the flatbread of the day. And it was! DH and I got an Aloha pork sandwich and the flatbread to split, I had dole whip for dessert and DH had a cupcake. I think the Poly cupcakes are the best "regular" cupcakes on property.

That flatbread was out of this world good! I LOVED it. I am so glad I read your reviews because I probably would not have ordered the bbq flatbread, so thank you! Like you, we enjoyed the Aloha pork as usual!

We were stuffed by the time we were done munching and it was only our first night in Disney. I spent most of the trip stuffed LOL

Even though we did not have it IN bed, it was a wonderful start to the day! It's like a continental breakfast, lots of breads, juices, pastries. I don't think there were any cooked things on the menu. :confused3

Love, love, love the reviews!

Room service on the DCL is wonderful, isn't it! And we could not believe they were ON time EVERY time we ordered! ;)

When you are doing your b2b in Oct make sure it is noted on the reservation. If it is you will be assigned a meeting point, then you are guided off the ship by an officer and you can check again, once they have cleared the ship. We were all alone in the cruise building with a handful of other families doing a b2b. Once we had checked in again, they took us up to the Cove Cafe and EVERYTHING was free. We had Cappucchino, but Monica, a friend who was on our FE list and did a b2b as well, had a Latte and a few other speciality coffee drinks. They even offered pastries, which were free as well.
Don't you just love that Disney service! :thumbsup2

Watch out for my review for our 2011 vacation, we are doing a back to back to back on the Dream in August! I'll let you know HOW they handle the b2bers there! ;)

I am so happy they still had the BBQ flatbread on the menu! And I am even happier you liked it so much.

I can relate to spending the trip stuffed, as we were on the DxDDP for the second part and we had a REALLY hard time spending all our credits!

Still Day 18, August 31

We headed for the beach ....... here are a few impressions of our favourite island!

Heaven on earth! Serenity Bay!

Needless to say all that walking and taking in the wonderful scenery makes you real thirsty!

IMG_7012.jpg

We needed to have a Konch Kooler, Myers's Original Dark Rum, Bacardi Rum, and pina colada mix mixed with our orange passion guava blend. Very refreshing! ;) :lmao:

Next up - Disney Wonder - Castaway Cay, Serenity Bay, Barbeque Station

I'm totally enjoying this report! Well, I always love your reviews, but I'm particularly interested in DCL stuff. Thanks! :lovestruc

We loved our cruises with DCL very much! And the food is really awesome! Can't wait to cruise on the Dream next summer!

Still Day 18, August 31

Disney Wonder - Serenity Bay, Barbeque Station

After sipping our refreshing drinks ;), we spent lots of time enjoying the crystal clear waters of Serenity Bay, discussing IF we should add another cruise to the two we had already booked and we were both ALL for it!! :thumbsup2
After that decision we were ready for lunch! So off we went to the BBQ Station at Serenity Bay.

IMG_7013.jpg

Lots of yum yum salads, coleslaw, potato, iceberg, cucumber and tomato and a piece of grilled mahi mahi! I just love the grilled mahi mahi. It is still moist inside and it is so well spiced! :cloud9:

IMG_7015.jpg

Tom went for a very similar plate, salad, coleslaw, potato, cucumber, tomato and some greek salad and he had some grilled steak with it. He finished his steak, so it must have been good.

IMG_7017.jpg

We shared a dessert plate, a chocolate chip cookie and some vanilla and chocolate soft serve ice cream. I am sure we had some fruit as well, but there is no photo of it! :confused3

Time to go back to the beach!

Next up - Disney Wonder - Castaway Cay, Serenity Bay, Castaway Air Bar

Hi Karin

Thanks so much for the wonderful photos of Castaway Cay :goodvibes

It certainly brightens up a dull morning in London :surfweb:

Still Day 18, August 31

Disney Wonder - Serenity Bay, Castaway Air Bar

So it was time go back to the beach.

IMG_7023.jpg

But all that sitting in the shade and playing in the sea made us real thirsty again! :lmao:

IMG_7021.jpg

IMG_7029.jpg

IMG_7028.jpg

Yip, I was boring and had another Konk Kooler! Myers's Original Dark Rum, Bacardi Rum, and pina colada mix mixed with our orange passion guava blend. I just could not help it ....... it is THAT good! :rotfl2:

IMG_7026.jpg

IMG_7027.jpg

Tom was far more adventurous. He ordered a Rum Rudder. Dark rum, Blackberry and Banana Liquer, Sweet lemon mix and Grenadine. Yummyyyyy!!!

IMG_7040.jpg

So after all that fun on the beach it was time to head back to the tram and go on board the WONDERful Disney WONDER again!

IMG_7046.jpg

Next up - Disney Wonder - Pinocchio's Pizzeria

That settles it- next time I am sending my kids to the teen beach and going to Serenity Bay- it all looked divine!!:cloud9:
