Weather reports totally, unbelievelably wrong!

We had a winter storm warning last night. We were expecting 4-8 inches of snow from last night through tonight. It started to snow and we actually left our friends' NYE party at 11:05 to "get home before it gets bad". 5 minutes from their house (we live 10 miles south) it turns to rain. As of midnight, every station in town and the weather service still saying expect tons of snow.
This morning? NOTHING. Not a flake. And radar is totally clear. I've never seen all of the predictions be this wrong. And of course since it's New Year's Day there is no local news, so the lucky weather guys don't have to be all flustered and explain themselves.
I guess it went north (hello Detroit) and perhaps East (Cleveland? Are you getting snow?) But here in NW Ohio, where weather channel last night was saying we would "bear the brunt" of the snow, it's a great example of how you can't believe the hype, even with super doppler whatever!

No local news?
Well that is the problem. if you are in a town small enough to not have news today then you are off the map for accurate forecasting. Heheheheheee

Well, it's snowing like crazy here in SE MA at 12:49 and I don't remember this being predicted..

Akron is getting clobbered right now, maybe thats your snow. But this is why you should only have drop dead sexy weather women, because who ever does it might be wrong, so let just get some eye candy up there

long post

I can tell ya it is come this way :sad2: ..We had none expected, and now have another snow warning..:scared1:

Where in SE MA are you? Im in Middleboro and its only been rain since it started at noon?

We are in southern Maine and it's been snowing for almost an hour. I just got home from the grocery store and the roads are already getting bad. This is our second storm in two days, and this one is supposed to be a real winner.

We're supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow (SE Ohio), and I'm hoping for the same thing. I hate snow! OK, I like the snow, I hate icy roads.

we got 9 inches yesterday and another foot or so today expected.......DID I TELL YOU that I hate snow.......rofl....we are Mainers too

Oh I suppose there will be news locally, but due to football, whatever most of the local stations won't have programs until this evening, and probably without the "A" team weatherwise.
PD, all the local weather guys are middle-aged men--and the weekend people seem to be young, dorky guys or older guys in their 50s who never made it to a bigger market!

We were predicted to get 4-8 inches last night and we got six. Now we're under a lake effect snow warning.

Getting snow here in NE Ohio.
Funny thing was is that all day yesterday we didnt have any warnings or even a watch. Then Boom! All of a sudden we have winter storm warning until tomorrow!

You can have ours!!! Like the others from Maine have said we are in the middle of another storm, barely having yesterdays all cleared so Like I said...take ours:thumbsup2 if you want it!!!

...and perhaps East (Cleveland? Are you getting snow?)
Yes. This morning they said 2-4 inches, they've upped it to 6.

I have lived in Cleveland my whole life and the one thing I've learned is that you can never trust them on snow predictions. Double-Super-Doppler my ***.

Maine checking in (again!) and I wish they'd get it wrong here! We have been clobbered HOW many times already this winter???? Kids are supposed to go back to school tomorrow... I'm thinking it will be a snow d:headache: ay.....

Maine here too.

Em is hoping for a snow day. You know, because she didn't get a long enough vacation.

Del didn't even get a chance to dig out his truck from the last storm. I have all wheel drive and just plow though it.

Please yunz' guys! Blow real hard and send some our way! I really want at least a 2-hour delay tomorrow. A snow day would be better!

Yet, another Mainer here. We got a foot of snow in Augusta yesterday, & another 8-12 inches predicted for tonight. This is our 10th storm since Dec 1.
I could just scream :scared1:

We are still getting HEAVY snow...A total accumulation of a few feet, but our schools are closed on vacation until Monday anyway :upsidedow

Our prediction was pretty accurate. We were supposed to get about an inch, which plenty for this snow hating person. I really need to move to a place that there is zero chance of snow, or get a job where one doesn't have to go to work no matter the weather. Unfortunately, I am a doctor, and I have to go in to see patients no matter what. We some of the few people who are legally allowed on the streets in a snow emergency. I've even been escorted to the hospital (and back home) by the sheriff's department because I was unable to leave my subdivision due to snow drifts. Fortunately, that was about 12 years ago. Don't want a repeat.
