So excited. We love Wishes and will really miss it. We have never done a DP (we did a private IllumiNations one for our wedding 8 years ago) so thought this would be great. We have a late BOG lunch at 2:00 and then the DP later that evening. Can't wait.

Anyone have any info about this DP.

Thanks Linda

I think you'll love it. You get access to all the same amenities as people who book the Terrace view - you get to sit a table and enjoy the desserts and such. Then, just before Wishes, you're escorted to the dedicated viewing area in the Hub, which is blessedly uncrowded, with plenty of room to move around and spread out. There is no seating there, but the view is much better than from the Tomorrowland Terrace, which is way off to one side. You can lean on the rail in the back or sit on the turf if you want - you'll still have a good view. After Wishes, the space is no longer exclusive to the DP people, but you can stay there to view the projection show. Many DP people leave after Wishes, and other people may filter in to watch the projection show, but it doesn't get crowded.

Love the DP and the plaza garden viewing. We do it every trip, saw it this past February with Wishes and already have it booked again on May 13th for the new Happily Ever After. There is alot of room to stretch out in the garden viewing area, it's never been or felt crowded at all. The desserts are super yummy plus they have different cheeses, crackers, and an ice cream bar. We've never felt rushed to eat prior to walking over to the viewing area nor have we ever been rushed out of the viewing area after the show. We usually hang out and let the crowds die down before we head out.
You will definitely enjoy it and your plan to eat a late lunch will be perfect. Hope you have a magical time.

We are planning an early dinner-4:30 at Chef Art Smith Homecoming. Will that be enough time to digest so we can really partake in the dessert party?

Depends on how much you eat, I guess, and how many desserts you think you need to eat to make the DP "worth it." Let's face it, few of us could eat enough desserts to cover the $59 cost, so it's more the experience and getting the special viewing area than anything else. If the fireworks are at 9, you'd want to go into the DP probably no later than 8 to be able to have time to take advantage of it. Maybe if you forego dessert at dinner, you can make up for it at the DP. The desserts are served in mini portions, so you can take several for the equivalent of one big dessert from somewhere else.

Just did the dessert party with plaza viewing last week. I heeded the advice to sit in the back of the plaza garden to view the fireworks and the view was perfect. Everyone sat on the ground the whole time and there was plenty of space. It was enjoyable.

So, I have a question for those of you that have done the Plaza View Dessert Party recently...My sister and I did it on Monday, 4/17. I had watched Wishes from there with an FP one time, and we decided to splurge on the party as it was a busy time of year, etc. When we walked by the garden area on the way to dessert party, there were a lot of people camped out in there, and the space was bisected with tape or something. I asked the CM who was at the gate if there was also open viewing in there, or if it was just the dessert party and she said it was half open viewing. What I found strange was that the open viewing was really what would be the "preferred" side, on the left if you're looking at the castle, as it is the more centered view, and the dessert party view was on the right side. Like PPs, we also hung back toward the back rail and had plenty of space, but considering the price I was curious if they did that all the time, or maybe when it doesn't sell out?

In any case, we ate our body weight in cheese, crackers and dessert and had a gorgeous view!

I'm booked for May 13th as well! :yay: I'm going solo, since i'll be at WDW for pandora passholder preview
I'm surprised that it isn't fully booked considering that is the 1st night for Happily Ever after.
I'm glad I was able to get a spot. Looking forward to trying out the garden viewing area.

I'm going solo and attending on the 13th too. My Pandora preview is the 14th. When is yours?

Cool! Glad I'm not the only one going solo! My pandora preview is Monday the 15th.
Maybe Flynnismine can fill us in at the dessert party on how their preview was!
Would love to meet some fellow Dis'ers!

We have the dessert party for the garden view area booked for our up coming trip also. Cant wait to be front and center without having to fight the crowds. We did do the dessert party on the Terrace and I was not thrilled with the side view.
