The food was as good as it looks.
I normally will not eat ribs in public (hate to be licking my fingers) but these were soooo good it was worth it. Not that Eeyore gave up more than one.
Pirate Boy ate most of his chicken and love the chocolate brownie sundae. He wasn't much for his sides, but the boy is picky.
"My" green beans were enjoyed by everyone, especially me. I do recommend splurging for this appetizer!! The sauce was yummy and the beans were cooked just enough. It was actually not half bad cold either ... I ate the rest late that night, along with the left over tamarind chicken.
The Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp was a feast for the eyes *and* the mouth. Very nice presentation with the steak wrapped around the rice and the shrimp on skewers over the top. Just as tasty as it looks and the steak was super tender. They must marinate it. The only thing I would do differently would be to ask for brown rice. I didn't eat much of it anyway, but I don't care for white rice much and try to get brown wherever I can.
The younger kids ate well, though the egg roll went begging ... Court Jester had a few of his sister's chicken nuggets and they both ate quite a lot of their ice cream sundaes this meal.
So ... what disappeared? Were you paying attention when I mentioned our orders? Wontons. For desert? I was skeptical. I do not like mixing sweet and savory. OMG.
Order the wontons. Eat them. Save room for them. They were, hands down (don't stop reading the reviews, please) the best thing I ate all week.
crispy Wontons filled with sweet cream cheese, but not cloying. On skewers like the shrimp, atop vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of honey.
Seriously, I meant to take a picture, but it would have been a mistake -- they might have gotten cold. Do not let them get cold. Let nothing keep you from your fried wontons!
