WDW car hire

Has any been to WDW recently and had car hire? Where did you go? We have been looking at our usual places for car hire, but the prices seem astronomical; 24-day rental (mid-size SUV) is more than our return flight!!! What is going on? Can anyone shed some light? Give us any tips? Thanks!

I use the Alamo website and put resident of Australia.
It seems to always offer a good deal and is the onsite provider so flexibility for pick up/return.

Yeah, we've done that the past two years, which really worked in our favour as we had trouble getting an appropriate car at PC, so ended up exchanging for different model once we got back to Disney. I don't know what it is this year, but everywhere seems just as expensive as each other. At this rate it will be cheaper to just get taxis everywhere! :scared:

We used Uber alot when we were there for short off-site things, we also only got cars on the days we needed them and switched them around to minimise the rates.

We got a SUV for a week and went down to Fort Myers and Clearwater and Tampa, returned and returned the car and then got a car for another 2 day hire to go to Kennedy Space Centre, but as we weren't transporting luggage or anything, we just got a small economy car.

Have a great trip

Always used CarRental8 on the web for our car rental in the states. Never failed us price wise or service wise.

For a short rental whilst at Disney the Car Care Centre up near Magic Kingdom is good. Offer Alamo and National. They will pick you up from your hotel )if youre staying on site) and drop you back after your rental is complete
