Does anyone know if its possible to have the someone's ashes laid to rest in WDW. I was watching The Descendants tonight (not to spoil the movie for anyone), and it got me thinking where I would want my ashes. I would want my ashes poured into World Showcase Lagoon. Where would you want your ashes deposited in WDW or elsewhere?

Others have tried it on Disney's private island accessible by Disney cruise ships. Disney doesn't allow ashes there; I can't imagine they'd allow ashes in any of the parks either.

Florida Law does not prohibit scattering ashes. This does not mean, however, that you may spread or scatter the ashes anywhere you choose.
• You should not spread or scatter ashes on public lands or any inland bodies of water such as streams, rivers or lakes, etc.
• You may spread, scatter or bury ashes on any private land that you own or have obtained permission from the owner. We would suggest that you obtain this permission in writing.
• Many states have different laws regarding this subject. If you are considering spreading or scattering ashes somewhere other than Florida, you should check the laws of that state before proceeding.
• Scattering or spreading ashes in the ocean is permitted, however federal regulations do specify this should be done only beyond 3 miles from the coast.

Disney's answer is an emphatic NO.

If it were allowed, Disney would charge for it.

Think about it....do you really want Aunt Rita's ashes swirling around Casey's Hotdogs.:scared1:

I would love a teaspoon or two of me mixed in the sand on Castaway Cay. It would have to be under an umbrella though. I sunburn too easily! :rolleyes1

Eww! I definitely prefer my hotdogs WITHOUT Aunt Rita's ashes! :rotfl:

We finally arrived at the Haunted Mansion and got right in. :surfweb: In fact we got in so fast we didn't have time to enjoy all of the tombstones and things outside of the entrance. popcorn::

Just remember, Pirates of the Caribbean turns into a biohazard zone when mixed with 2 teaspoons of powered remains. :rotfl2:

There have been reports on The Dis of this having been done. If Judy had wanted to be cremated I'm sure she would have wanted her ashes in/around the Imagination Pavilion.

How about the Boardwalk clown pool? All that needs is a few remains to get it haunted, and now we're really talking...

Disney will stop you and escort you off property.

Knowing that, I would not do it.

You could go to Epcot and Drink Around the World and celebrate the person's life.

I would not recommend that you dump the ashes on the Haunted Mansion ride. :rolleyes1
