I am not sure where this post belongs. If I want to watch games while I am there where should I go? I want to make sure I don't miss it. Is ESPN Zone my best bet???

Definitely a good place to go for the game!!! Families are welcome unless they want to do parks while you are at game.

If you want to watch a 1 PM game at ESPN, plan on being there are noon. The bar area is the best place to catch a game. For the 4 PM games, get there around 3:30 and wait for someone to leave. The bar area is first come first served.

this is going to seem a bit off-topic but while we were staying at the all-star sports last february, i got slightly "into" Amercan football. This was when the Super bowl was on. Everywhere you turned at the time you would see people wearing the two teams shirts (im sorry ive forgotten who was involved now), i watched the game, loved the morning after with all the morning tv going through the superbowl tv adverts, and even went to downtown disney and bought madden 2006 for my psp.

I hope your sport never turns into the panto-esque sport that we call football (soccer).

Will the superbowl be going on the same time next year? we are back to all star sports again and would really like to be amonst it all again.

I'm not sure about any place in the parks... but generally we saw the game on at some of the resort bars (Polynesian's & Pop Century's).

I gave some thought about this myself, but decided I'd be spending too much money to watch football while I'm at WDW. My solution is to simply have score updates sent to my cell phone while I'm in the parks. I'm actually worse off because I'm a huge college football fan and I'll be touring the parks for two straight Saturdays. I'll get quarterly updates on the Buckeyes and Bengals and final game scores for every other team I'm interested in, which is every Big Ten team, every team in the top ten of college football and, for the NFL, every team in the AFC North. I'll just have to catch SportsCenter in the evenings for my highlights.

Oh, and Super Bowl XLI is February 4, 2007.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed our American Football. The Super Bowl is probably the most watched television nights of the year. I would love to be in Disney when the Super is on and when the MVP comes to Disney World the next day. In 2007 the Super Bowl is on Sunday Feb 4th. Not to mention, it will be played in Miami, Fl, so that will make intensity that much more around Disney.

ESPN Zone is the spot. I was on my honeymoon at the YatchClub and when my wife jumped in the shower I ran over to the zone to catch the Eagles-Bears game(2002). It was cool talking to fans from across the country. They have a decent amout of games on and the beer is pretty cheap.

my husband was in heaven when he discovered that little gem. lol. we honeymooned at the BWI and on our arrival day had planned to go to typhoon lagoon. it was really cold that day (october), too cold for a water park, so we changed plans. I was sooo tired from the festivities the day before and the early flight so I took a nap and dh trotted down to the espn club for some football. we were both in heaven....and still laugh about it to this day.

Definitely be sure to get to ESPN well in advance of your game if you want to get in. There are lines for both the bar and the restaurant. They don't make people leave once they are done eating, so if you don't get a spot from the get-go, you are stuck. I've spent many an hour standing outside the ESPN club with my DH, who never seems to get there early enough, and just keeps on hoping that a spot will open up. (It usually does, with five minutes left in the 4th quarter!). Oh well, at least he is tall enough to see over people's heads and in to the TVs at the bar....and they sell beer to people in the line.

we usually get there at 11:15 on a Sunday morning to get in line. We prefer the bar side, a booth is the best because you have a small TV on the wall and they will put whichever game you want on that screen. They open the doors at 11:30.
Recently they have stopped letting people cram in and 'stalk' tables by gating the area to the gift shop (there's a cut through) and putting up a rope at the front entrance to the bar area. We actually saw someone who snuck in last year get escorted out (she pushed her way in past the CM at the gift shop gate b/c her family was already in there; she said she had been in there too, but she didn't have her little pass they were giving out for readmittance. I know for a fact that she hadn't been in there because the father was letting his 2 small children climb all over the back of our booth and repeatedly hit my BF in the head  ) So they are serious about this whole limiting entry thing.
It has also cut down dramatically on the crowding and the fighting that I've seen (catfight during Yankees/Red Sox Playoffs game one year, what a hoot!)
So if you really want to see a game, make sure you're there early enough to get in the bar area, or you'll be waiting outside, similar to if you're waiting for a table on the restaurant side.

Just a heads up - there are no ADRs at ESPN

Luckily (or unluckily if things continue as they were on Sunday) the Pats are on MNF when we visit, so we can watch wherever!
