Visit to London Questions

A very dear friend is taking her first trip to London this summer with husband and 3 college age daughters.

They wanted a 3 bedroom suite or apartment for the week and their travel agent has booked them at 51 Buckingham Gate.

Any personal reviews are appreciated.

Also anything you can add as to things not to be missed.

They are seeing Peter Pan, taking the Orient Express to York, shopping, Thames Boat tour, the London Eye, and I am sure more but can't think of anything else right now. A guided city tour.

tripadvisor.com is usually a good site to get reviews on hotels but usually it is better looked at before you book as there will be negative points about any hotel.

Thanks we have already checked TravelAdvisor, thought someone might actually be familiar with this location.

Anyone with any suggestions for Things to See and Do while in London beyond the usual tourist attractions.

How about a West End show?

Also a visit to Notting Hill may be interesting.

Covent Graden is always a nice place to visit when in London.

Also loads of Museums if they like that kind of thing.

My DD(15) loves visiting Camden Market. (It makes me feel very old!!)
Nearest tube is Camden Town.

Museums and other things that I wouldnt want to miss.

1. Royal Observatory and Naval Museum, next to each other in Greenwich. Stand astride the 0 Meridian Line where time is anchored. Also houses the Planetarium which is the only one with an admission Charge.

2. Alexandra Palace at Muswell Hill , the original home of the BBC, is a 'peoples palace' in landscaped grounds....also free

3. If they are a music buff, just cross the road on the zebra crossing on Abbey Road, St Johns Wood, next to Maida Vale.

They will need to buy an Oyster Card for cheaper transport. The Tube and Buses can cost a fortune and dont even think about taxis unless they have money to burn
