I hate to have my bra straps show so I use those bra clip thingies. They work well & I don't even notice I'm wearing them.

Adding a couple packets of sugar to your face or body wash creates a quick, easy scrub if you just need a quick polishing.

I'm hoping somebody on this thread has used Luvees panty coveralls. I'm concerned about the length of these as I am quite short. Does anybody out there have these and can you tell me how true to size they are and how long they are in the thigh area. I like the looks of the longer ones (brown and pink) but I'm concerned about the length and of course I can't find anything on their website that has to do with a size chart. Thanks for any info!!!!

I've read great reviews and even some other DISers have used them, but I can't find any info regarding size chart. Hopefully, somebody can fill me in on the size. I would like to order a couple pair for our upcoming trip in 2 weeks to wear under my sundresses.

Hey guys. I'm travelling from the UK and read that my hair straighteners won't work in the States due to the differing strength of electricity. Is this true? Also, am I wasting my time packing them anyway, what with the humidity? Will I be wasting my time trying to keep my curly hair straight? Thanks!!!

There are different ends to your appliances than ours and you would need a converter to use yours here. That being said, I am traveling home today from an 11 day stay and I can't imagine straightening my hair. It has been so hot and humid!!!! Frizzy hair city!!!

Yes, you'd need a converter. We have them for heading to Europe, so I imagine they make them in reverse. I don't know what good a straightener would actually do, though!

I live in Seattle, where it drizzles a lot, and I use Aveda straightening products on a daily basis. They have a kit that keeps the frizzies under control. I don't know if you can get that there. Also, Kenra 25 hairspray holds well in humidity.

The adapters step up or down as necessary as well as dealing with the different plug pin shapes.

Eh - it's starting to get humid - certainly a lot more humid than the UK. We just spent a very rainy Summer on your side of the Atlantic!

I think il take them anyway, if not for general use for the evening if I want to smarten up.

    Okay Ladies - intimate question...

When you take the pill consecutively to skip a period, can you do it for more than one cycle? I know you skip the sugar pills and just continue on. I am trying to decide if I need to call the doctor tomorrow or if what I'm experiencing is normal.

We have been in FL for the past 25 days. I called the Dr before our trip and got 3 months worth of pills. I knew I would have my cycle during driving down and wanted to avoid the many rest stops. I started the pill about 2 weeks before we left and continued on during our trip. I spotted a couple of days in the middle of our trip and was fine with that. 12 days ago I started to spot again but thought nothing of it. It continued and was more of a nuisance than anything else. 5 days ago I started a normal cycle and it has gotten heavier each day. I am wondering if this is because I tried to skip too many cycles in a row or if I should be worried. I am also peri-menopausal if that means anything.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

I've tried this successfully in the past, but when I tried it again on a new pill that I was switched to (Sprintec) I started bleeding light to medium about two weeks into it and this continued for about two or more weeks. It was crappy spitting/bleeding for that long, but I did it months ago to throw off my cycle so I wouldn't have to worry about it on my upcoming trip.

The same thing has happened to me. I can only do two packs back to back - and even then sometimes I'll spot ( I take Sprintec). What happened to you is my normal. But so you will have peace of mind, call your Doctor. Hope this helps!

I've done it for 2 consecutive cycles and have been fine - no spotting/bloating etc. My Dr has said previously that you could do it for three cycles but shouldn't really do longer than that.

I have been doing this for 7 YEARS! There is occasional spotting now and again, but the longer you are on it, the less frequent it gets.
Believe it or not, when the pill was first tested, it was meant to be taken without any breaks, but the marketers didn't feel doctors and the general public would accept it as easily, so they added in the sugar pill week. My doctor told me 7 years ago that this is how most people use the pill in Europe. :thumbsup2
7 years and still going without any problems...:yay:

    Here are my suggestions....

makeup / skincare / tanning? - forget tanning, you'll be tan by the time you come home....make up...wear the BASICS because it will all sweat off or wash off on the rides...think AS LOW MAINTANENCE as you can bare to be seen

How do you choose clothing to wear / shoes?
Shop and dress accordingly...I always go in the summer so I pack 6 or 7 pairs of shorts, and tshirts that cover my shoulders because they burn real easy. I always apply sunscreen 3-4 times throughout the day.

How do you manage your hair? ( that florida humidity and heat is so unforgiving! Speaking of...)
forget trying to do anything other than a pony tail or flat iron....its all going to go the minute you walk into the humidity...or on the first ride...bring a hair brush or foldable travel brush and some extra rubber bands in a bag into the park so you can at least adjust and touch up your hair every so often as needed

What are your tips for dealing with the heat?
go back to the resort/hotel around 11:30 when the heat hits peak HOTNESS and take a nap, go swimming, cool off...then go back around 4-6 when it starts to cool down and stay till closing or you poop out and are ready to hit the hay

How do you save money on your vacation?
Book separately EVERYTHING - I used my airline miles to book our rental cars since I didn't have enough miles to book all our flights...I found out flights 10 months out for $200 a ticket, and I booked the resort 1 year in advance to insure I got the dates I wanted at the best place possible....I prepay for EVERYTHING so everything is paid by the time we go and when we go we can afford to splurge if we want to!

what resorts do you choose and why?
we stay at Windsor Hills because it is 1 mile off property, gated and beautiful! We get so much more for our money there than we ever would on disney property....we never have stayed on property because we are a family of 5 which makes for awkward sleeping arrangements in a hotel/resort on property so it works out and we are always happy...

why do you take your magical vacation?
we go because we are teachers in TX and we just need to get away from "life"...its a great way to start the summer out with the kids since we spend the entire summer with them....

I hope I helped someone out there! We are WDW bound June 2013 and can't wait!
