When we go out in a couple of weeks we've decided not to do the Disney Parks this time bbut would like to just visit Typhoon Lagoon once.

Can you buy tickets just for TL online or might I just as well pay on the gate?

Just pay on the gate. I don't think you can get single day water park tickets online
