Tyler's Wish Trip - Nov. 20-25, 2009 / Dream Factory

I hate to see the TR end. I loved the little pucker on Hayley's face when she waas with Stitch! Tyler's face says it all when he was with Stitch, loved it!

You & your family are so nice & I hope all the best for you guys.
:yay:

Look at the screen and to the right side where Tyler is looking to (to the left of Tyler's hand) and you will see the price tag! :scared1:

I loved seeing the rest of the photopass pictures especially with all the different borders on them. It's sad to see that Tyler's wish trip report has come to a close. Thanks for all the time and effort you took to share this special trip with all of us on the disboard! Blessings to your family in this new year! :grouphug::thanks::stitch2:

great photos!!!! I must be blind because I never saw any price tag!

146 pages!!! YIKES I've been figuring out how to save mine as well. I can't imagine printing out hundreds of pages. Hmmmmmmmm....

The 146 pages does not include photos or anyone's replies. If you figure out an inexpensive way to print it out, even in black and white, let me know!

awesome report!!!! Great job!!! :)

I love the final pics! You guys saw SOOOOO many characters while you were there! Great job getting great use out of the button! And it looks like his wish was fulfilled! :)

We did not have a button so it was a little more challenging! We did finally get the "green" stamp on our GAC. Tyler did get his Wish to come true and so much more! :stitch2:

It is sad to see it end, but I will just have to read about all of the new Wish families that have yet to have their children's wishes come true! Tyler is in love with Stitch. He sleeps with the giant Stitch and a few smaller Stitches in his bed each night and at nap time. I tell him that Stitch will guard him and keep him safe!

Anyone who also has a facebook page can send me a PM and I will add you as a friend. Then you can continue to see pictures of the kids and follow on their adventures. I know I have already added several of you! I also plan on staying here and trying to provide helpful advice to new Wish families! :grouphug:

I just wanted to post a tiny little update. Hayley had her second birthday on Saturday! :cake: Tyler had his final set of casts removed on Monday. He is having a difficult time putting any weight on his right leg and if it is not better by tomorrow, I will take him back to the doctor. When I stretched him this morning the right leg bones that connect to the ankle were making a strange clicking sound that was not present in the left leg. Hopefully, it is nothing to worry about!

Happy Birthday Hayley!! I love that age. I hope Tyler's leg ends up OK will be thinking of him. Let us know what happens.

Thanks for the update on Tyler. How are his legs doing today?

I loved the last few installments of your TR. The pictures are incredible! I didn't even notice the price tag on Stitch until you mentioned it. But once you did, it drew my eye. I think it will bother you, but nobody else unless you point it out!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I loved every minute of it!!

Happy Birthday Hayley! :bday:party:

Thanks on the update on Tyler! Praying that his right leg is OK too! Let us know how he is doing tomorrow.

I am back to update. Friday was a snow day for the kids and I could not get Tyler to the doctor. He is walking on his leg now, but he is very cautious with it. In the meantime I had three kids come down with something over the weekend. I tried to take them to immediate care yesterday and the optimistic wait time was an hour and a half. It was packed with no seats so we left and it was a large waiting area. Then we called the on call doctor and he said that we should bring in the sickest one in the morning, but I had to take all 3 with me. Hayley is bouncing back to her normal self today. Bre is coughing. Tyler has a double ear infection and now had to go see the ENT doctor again to get tubes put back in his ears. This set will be his third set. He received a shot since he will not take medicine. We have over the weekend shampooed the carpet in Tyler's room and our room after just trying to give him Tylenol and having him throw it up 30 minutes later. He just refuses to take medicine. Thank goodness the shot was quick and now he will get better! I am waiting on strep test results for Bre, but she seems to be rebounding other than her cough.

I will continue to monitor his foot and leg and keep in touch with his foot doctor, but I will not take a contagious kid to a specialist office. Maybe everyone will be well again soon!

That's great to hear Tyler is walking on his leg even though he's being cautious. Hope all the children are feeling better! Thanks for the update!

Everyone is now on antibiotics. The doctor did not test Tyler since he received his antibiotic shot. It turns out Bre did not have strep, but Hayley did and she was the least sick of the bunch. Tyler also has a new appointment with his foot doctor tomorrow so we will see what they can do. Hopefully, we are now all on the road to recovery!

Well, I took Tyler to the orthopedic doctor yesterday. We were there an hour and a half and with the doctor most of the time. We did several sets of x-rays and there does not appear to be anything wrong with his foot. The doctor did see how he winces in pain if he has to put weight on it, but right now there is no explanation. So, he will get braces to wear during the day now that should come in sometime next week. They should fit inside his shoes. He will still wear different braces at night. Then we will go back in 10 days and re-x-ray and re-look at the feet to see what else can be done. Please pray his feet heal on their own! :grouphug:

Hi, I hope all the kids are doing better now. Im so sorry they cant find a reason for Tyler's pain. Hopefully the braces will work. did he get to pick out what design he wanted on them? Gavin picked out a tye-dye pattern but everyone thinks it looks more like rainbows. :lmao:

For some reason they don't do designs here. They are the plain clearish-white plasticy looking things. I have seen some with really neat decorations. I think that Gavin's tie dye ones sound fun. When Tyler had his helmet, it was also white even though plenty of kids had colorful ones. So each Monday, I painted it a new color. Some weeks he also got stickers. Due to the shiny material of the helmet the acrylic paint came right off with rubbing alcohol. Some weeks required intermediate touch up. I figured if he had to wear a helmet to reshape his head then it should look nice and not like a medical device. The funny things is people kept coming up to me and telling me that they wished they had thought of letting their kids wear a helmet to protect their heads from bumps and bruises. If they only knew, that he did not have a choice and had to wear it 23 1/2 hours a day! pirate:

I just read your story from beginning to end. I laughed, I cried and now my eyes have gone all wonky from looking at the computer screen for so long! :lmao: I loved it all! Your family is beautiful and your son is the cutest thing ever!! (the others aren't too shabby either! ;))
Thank you for letting us all join you on this trip! I feel like I actually saw most of the parades with you- and I finally found someone who takes as many, or more, photos than I do!! :thumbsup2

Thank you for all of your sweet comments. Tyler is so cute! I do love to take photos. I think I got this bug from my grandfather, who I was never able to meet. He has tons of slides from when my dad was growing up. Tyler is doing better. I figured out that his night time braces were causing the pain so he has not worn them since I discovered this. They were custom cast to his feet and legs prior to the casts changing them so when we put them back on the braces tried to turn them back to how they were prior to the casts. He is doing well in his daytime braces. His hearing seems to be returning now that his new tubes are in place. We go for a follow-up next week. The only draw back from this recent surgery is that every time we get in the car he now says, "No Doctors!" I am hoping this will pass too! he is loving the warm weather!

I am late to the “party;” however, I have read your trip report word for word, start to finish. I loved the photos, the details and all of the fun you had…I was in tears at your last bit of Disney magic, even at the airport. Praying all is well for your family and that you are still basking in the wonderful memories your family made. Thank you for all of the effort and energy you put in to writing this report and sharing with us all. It was a joy to read. Your family is beautiful.

Blessings,
Judy
