After all the wonderful things I've read on this site about the sideways cabins I decided to try one. Fortunately there was still a sideways cabin available on my cruise. My travel agent was able to switch my cabins. Now I'm even more excited about the cruise. Although I'm a little nervous that I won't like the sideways cabin since there will be two rooms directly behind mine instead of just one - possibly more noise. Can anyone calm my fears? Thanks!

I did check out the stateroom reports. Unfortunately my stateroom does not have a review.:confused3

DH and I had a sideways cabin last October on the Magic. Great location and we loved the layout of the stateroom.

We'll be in another sideways cabin this October.

I found no problem with noise from other cabins but my sideways cat 11 (across from the SPOH cabins on deck 5) was next to the crew service door which was a busy spot. However, I'd take it again if I could.

Thanks to the help of everyone on here, we have booked a sideways room for our upcoming honeymoon and couldn't be more excited!!!

We had cabin 5009 a sideways room for our first Disney cruise. We loved it and loved the layout...the room felt bigger and it didnt seem like we were in a box as I had felt on other cruises. We had very little noise only heard some noise from one of the clubs or perhaps the theater one evening...but all in all I was very happy with the location and definetly would cruise in one again...:)

I am in room 6015. A sideways cabin has been turned 90 degrees from the position of a regular cabin, you enter towards the middle of the cabin instead of near the bathroom. Thanks everyone for your responses, it sounds like I will like the room. (I plan on taking a white noise machine...just in case; hopefully I won't need it.)

Are they a specific category or on a specific deck?

Are there any pics of the sideways cabins? Was on the link for the stateroom reports but didn't see any pics...did I miss it? Want to rebook when we're on our June cruise and was thinking of an inside cabin...love that they get such great reviews and the sideways layout sounds cool.

We will be in that same room! :woohoo: I'm glad you liked it!!

We have a sideways cabin (6507) booked for the Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise. I have only heard good things about them, so I am excited to try one out. It was pure dumb luck we got it. It was booked by our TA. The only thing I worry about is the Walt Disney Theatre noise.

When we can't get a SPR we always go with a sideways cabin. Deck 5 Forward is where we like to be. It's so convenient for us.

Would love to see some cabin pics when you return :goodvibes

My sons have been in one two times and love it. I would also choose it over a regular cabin. Even if the footage is the same, the cabin seems bigger.

Here are pictures from Cabin 6011 on the Disney Wonder:

The bathroom is across from the closet at the end of the room

You can see where the door enters the cabin, in the middle as opposed to at the end near the bathroom and closet on a regular cabin

On this one you can see the placement of the vanity table and the steamer trunk in the cabin.

These next few pictures are of Cabin 6015 on the Disney Wonder right next door to cabin 6011. We have stayed in both.

They are basically the same layout except that they are "flipped" from end to end.

I hope these pictures help you all to see what you will be getting in a sideways cabin.

Thank you so much for the pictures! It's nice to finally see what they look like!
