Tropical depression, 5 a.m. Tuesday advisory
OUTLOOK: For the first time in five years, no tropical storms emerged in June, although a tropical depression did form off the states east coast near Cape Canaveral on Monday night.
WHAT FLORIDA CAN EXPECT: The system is expected to produce numerous showers and storms in South and Central Florida Tuesday, and the rain could be heavy at times.
FLORIDA ALERTS: A tropical storm watch has been issued for the east coast of Florida from Fort Pierce northward to just south of Flagler Beach.
PARTICULARS: The center of the depression is expected to remain offshore and move east of the east-central coast of Florida during the next 24 hours, according to senior hurricane specialist Daniel Brown.
LOCATION: 95 miles east of Cape Canaveral
STRENGTH: 35 mph sustained winds
MOVEMENT: West at 2 mph
May become Tropical Storm within next 12 - 24 hours.
Eye is expected to remain off-shore with on-shore winds and rain increasing over the next 24 - 36 hours.
Expected to move North-East towards the Carolina coast.
