Trip Report... Touring WDW and Pregnant!

How about some resort pics (room, balcony view, grounds)? I don't really know much about this resort. Would love to see them. Oh, and the food porn? KEEP IT COMIN'!

Will do!

So last night we ventured to the MK and rode Dumbo. Here is a pic from the ride of the back of the castle.

100_2022.jpg

Also ate at dinner at Pinocchio Village Hause. I didn't take any pictures, because it was hot dogs and Figgaro Fries.

This morning we woke up at 6:15 to make our 8:10 ADR for breakfast at the Crystal Palace. I have never been in the MK before the park officially opens and what an amazing experience this was. There was nobody around. We just walked past all the people waiting in line and had Main Street all to ourselves. We stopped for a few PhotoPass pics before heading to breakfast.

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of buffet meals, but with breakfast you really can't go wrong. So DD enjoyed seeing Pooh and friends, but DS wanted nothing to do with them.

DD and I had to rush out because she had a reservation at the BBB. Her Fairy Godmother in training was Aimee, and she did a great job. Here are a couple pics.

While waiting, DH and DS spent some quality time riding a few rides together.

After getting all dolled up, we rode a few rides at Fantasyland then walked to to ride the Carpets of Alladin. The line to visit Jasmine and Alladin closed but DD did get a special wave hello.

By then it was sprinkling, and all of the sudden the skies opened up to a full rain. Luckily we were close th Aloha Isle, so we parked under the covered area and all enjoyed some ice cream and DH and I each had a Dole Whip Float for Bawb. I've seen so many great pictures of people enjoying a Dole Whip, but I had to have my picture taken with an empty cup (I loved every last drop).
100_2052.jpg

Here's to you Bawb!

It only rained for about 30 minutes, just enough time for a break. Then the sun came out hotter than ever. We walked to Tomorrow Land and did a few rides including Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and Buzz Lightyear. DH always gets high score...:cool2:

By then it was time for a late lunch, and we've always had good luck at Cosmic Rays. While it was very crowded, we were able to find a table quickly and enjoyed burgers and fries and chili dogs.

When we finished we walked down Main Street and stayed for the 3 o'clock parade. Here is a rear picture of DDs hair.
100_2056-1.jpg

I'm telling you, that's some big hair!!!:scared1:

After the parade, we decided to let the buses clear out and went to the mainstreet bakery for a sweet treat of chocolate cake and a chocolate chip cookie. YUM!!!

It was so sticky hot from the rain and the sun, that we went "home" to relax and cool off, but that turned into naps for everyone (including me).

So tomorrow we're off to AK with ADRs at Yak and Yeti for lunch.

Your daughter looks adorable with her big doo!! Love the dole whip shot. It was raining cats and dogs here and cold as can be. Enjoy that heat while you have it. I cant wait to hear about Yak and Yeti. Thanks for the update.

Looks like you're having a great time!

Also ate at dinner at Pinocchio Village Hause. ... hot dogs and Figgaro Fries.

There have been a lot of rumors about the fries... they are still on the menu, obviously. Are they the same w/ all the toppings including lettuce and tomato? I know, a little silly, but I have priorities for my next trip! :rolleyes1

I've been debating about an ADR there for my trip... can't wait to hear what you think!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Great trip report :thumbsup2

Could you take some pics of OKW for me, my mom and me are deciding between that and Saratoga for our Sept trip next year! Some pics will really help! :goodvibes

Glad your having a good time!

I'm sad to report that the fries are just cheese and bacon now. I was a disappointed too. I was really looking forward to the old version since we've never had them before.

PS - It's Animal Kingdom Hot today. 93!

Loving the trip report! Your DD is too cute with her "big do". Enjoy the rest of your time at WDW. :thumbsup2

Well, it's been a hot day!

We were out the door by 9ish and in AK early. Before we got in the park, DD had to get an autograph and picture with Pocahontas. Only one princess to go... Mulan, and she is only in HS. UGH, not going back for that one. Maybe next year....

We watched the baboons (?) for a while. They were talking up a storm, but when we went by later they were resting and quite. One of them had a baby clinging to it belly. So cute... Then we walked directly to get DH a FP for EE. The kids wanted to do games and rides so we headed for DinoLand. DS won a frog and got a bunch of cute pictures. We only planned on a half day in the park today, so we stayed long enough for some lunch at Yak and Yeti.

I really enjoyed the Duck with Anandapur Glaze (Roasted half duckling, orange wasabi glaze, jasmine rice, and stir-fried veggies).
100_2082.jpg

DH had the Sweet & Sour Chicken (Tempura chicken or pork, ginger, garlic, bell peppers, and pineapple).
100_2083.jpg

I would absolutely eat here again. The food was tasty although a bit pricey.:) :thumbsup2

While touring the park we finally saw DeVine. We've been here so many times, but have never come across her until today.

100_2080.jpg

So after lunch we came back to OKW so the kids could nap. This gave me some time to take a few pictures of the resort. Here is the view from our balcony of the 7th green.

100_2097.jpg

100_2099.jpg

I really enjoy the space we have in our 1br, but am a bit disappointed in the lack of luxuriousness (sp). It's a beautiful resort... but I think I prefer the Beach Club.:goodvibes

After naps, we put the kids in their swimsuits and boarded the boat to Downtown Disney. The kids played in the inground water fountains by the Christmas Shop for about 20 minutes.

After we dragged them away from that it was time for Mommy to go shopping. I try to save all my shopping for the World of Disney so I can use my 10% Disney Visa discount. DD bought with her saved money the big Cinderella Castle play set. Since it's too big to take on the plane, we're shipping it home (she is sooooo excited:cloud9:).

We had dinner at the Earl of sandwich and this is a great buy for your money!:thumbsup2 I had the All-American and DH had the Le Frenchy. YUMMY!

On the way back to OKW, I snapped a few shots I thought may be of interest.

The new T-Rex restaurant. It's HUGE!!!

Saratoga Springs... (for wishspirit)

Tomorrow, the weather man is calling for a chance of scattered t-storms, so I'll be packing the rain gear for EPCOT and our last full day at Disney.

Another great day at the World!

Only one princess to go... Mulan, and she is only in HS.

I saw Mulan and Mushu in the China Pavilion at Epcot so there is still hope for your daugher.

Thanks for the pics of TREX we are hoping it is done when we go in November. OKW looks really nice. I think we are gonna have to check that resort out at least once.

I am enjoying your report very much! Glad that you all are having such a good time! I agree you are very brave with 2 little ones and 23 weeks, you are my hero!!!!! Have a wonderful day!:goodvibes

Thanks so much for the SSR photos! (and for thinking of me :goodvibes)

Do you have any in room OKW pics?

Hope you are having a fab time!

We spent most of the day yesterday cleaning up, packing and visiting DTD before heading home. I have pics of OKW to share that I hope to have ready for everyone tomorrow, including my report from Epcot (my personal favorite park).

PS - DD got Mulan's autograph!!!! But guess what, in review of her book, she is still missing Ariel... UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great report so far!! Love the BBB pictures!! I'm looking forward to Epcot it's my favorite park too!

So we wake up to grey skies for our day in Epcot. No big deal. Grey means less heat right??

We head to Olivia's for breakfast to fill our bellies. Reservations at 8:10 but we arrive about 10 minutes late, but there is plenty of seating. I had the 2 egg combo (includes your choice of bread, bacon and breakfast potatoes). DH has a ham and cheese omlet, DS plays in his pancakes and DD had the Donald Duck combo (eggs, bacon, and potatoes). I really wasn't thrilled with the meal. I think the eggs were a bit gritty and even with the added cheddar cheese, they were barely okay. Also, the breakfast potatoes were a bit mushy. I should of had the pancakes. Dh said his was fine, but our breakfast with the DVC discount was still over $45 and I have a problem paying that much when you really aren't happy with the food.

After breakfast we head out to wait for the Epcot bus at the Hospitatility House. We are only there a few minutes and voila... bus. All week we have had a very positive bus experience, wait times have been minimal and never very crowded.

At Epcot it starts drizzling, so we walk right over to Soarin to get a FP. We are amazed to see the wait is only 10 minutes, so instead we do a Parent Swap. I'm given a FP from the CM and DH and DD go first, while I sit with DS. The place is really empty, I almost can't believe it. While sitting on the benches, who do I see but our waitress from Olivia's on our first night Cari. She was so sweet to the kids and recognized us right away. She was visiting with her brother who lives in another state. She has a son the same age as ours, so they played while we waited to swap. It wasn't very long and it was my turn to take DD back into Soarin. FP in hand off we go. I love Soarin' but sat next to a woman afraid of heights. Why do you ride if you are afraid of heights??

After Soarin' DD wants to try sodas again. That's her favorite part of Epcot... free soda. I love the VeggiBeta, and DD loves the Apple one. Dh put a tiny bit of Beverly in a cup for DS and I wish he pulled out the camera before giving it to him, but his face was as expected... he couldn't wait for Mommy to give hime something to get that aweful taste out of his mouth. The things we do to our kids......

We spent about 15 minutes there before heading over to Test Track. DD is now tall enough to ride it so this was her first time. The rain was starting again, so I took DS inside past the car showroom and sat on the benches to wait. I really don't mind all the waiting. Being 23 weeks along, it's nice to sit a rest. I let DS out of the stroller to run around, and stretch his legs. Again, hardly anyone was in line and the wait was only 15 minutes. While sitting there an older woman came and sat next to me and withing 5 minutes her party came out. We were both shocked, but they walked right on in the single rider line.:)

From there we went to the Baby Care Center for a change for DS. These places are such a blessing for families with kids. They have anything you could need when traveling baby food, medicines for adults and children, and extra clothes for the kiddos including socks and underwear.

Finally the drizzle lets up and we start touring the World. There is not much to see as far as the Flower Festival goes. Most of the countries look the same. We stop in China for Mulan and Mushu's autograph.:thumbsup2

It's getting lunch time and the kids are hungry again (do they ever stop eating?). So we head towards the American pavillion for hot dogs (again) and I see the turkey leg cart outside. I've never had one before and decide that today is the day!! We go inside and again, tons of available tables and the drummers are doing a performance for the crowd. Dh goes off for the food and we sit and enjoy the show. I should have taken pictures of the performers but forgot..... Dh gets back with lunch and heads outside for my turkey leg and the sky opens up again. Poor guy. Everyone eats everything and DS only shoves a small french fry up his nose. Just because you have a hole in your nose doesn't mean you have to fill it with french fries!::yes::

After lunch I spot the funnel cake stand and have to have one! I mean the baby's gotta eat right?!?! While covering ourselves with powder sugar another family sits next to us eating their Kaki Gori (shaved ice) from Japan. The mom calls to them "Emma and Ethan come here". DH and I look to each other and start laughing, and I turn to the mom and say meet Emma and Ethan (DD ans DS). We all start talking about our kids and find out they have an 8 month old boy at home named Ean. We talk about names for our DS due in September and find out they live about 45 minutes from us in PA. We say our goodbyes and head to Japan to watch the drummers perform. The sun starts coming out again and the place is starting to dry up.

After touring the world, DS conks out in the stroller and DH takes DD into see Figment and a few more attractions before heading home to OKW.

I'll check back in a couple hours to post the resort pictures and talk about the rest of the trip.

Hi again! I hope those of you who are reading post here too. I need some support this week as DH just left on a business trip and I hate it when he is out of town.

Okay, back to my report....
After leaving Epcot, we are all exhausted and decide to take a quick cat nap to go have fun later that night. DD is begging to go to the pool. Well the cat nap turned into a full on nap and we didn't wake up until 6 o'clock. :scared1:

So we pop up and get the kids ready for a quick dinner at Goods. Hot dogs for the kids, chicken nuggets for DH and me.

After eating we all put on our swimsuits (think of Regina's blog about pulling here and tucking there). I tell you maternity swimwear is a joke. Anyway it's starting to drizzle but we are going to get wet anyway so I park the stoller under an umbrella and we all hop in. COLD!!!!!!! I know they heat the pools but yikes, this was flat out freezing. The kids didn't care though. After a bit we took them to the kiddie pool which was a bit warmer, but still chilly. The area is themed nice but this is not my favorite resort pool by far. I much prefer the zero clearance type the kids can walk in and not fall off steps.

Before leaving I stopped by the steaming whirlpool to warm up. I only stood there with the water warming me up to my hips for about 2 minutes but it felt great. The whirlpool is in the back right of the main pool. It's quite large with lots of privacy. While standing there I noticed the signature lighthouse in all the pictures of OKW is actually a sauna. I didn't peek in, but thought I would share that bit of information.
100_2097.jpg

Anyone with children knows how hard it is to tear the kids away from the pool but I was able to bribe them with a trip to the closet sized arcade. We had a few points left to spend before heading home tomorrow, so we played in there for a few minutes. I decided to play the game where you have to stop the light on the red lightbulb to win a prize (I can't remember the name). Well on second try it stops on the red light next to the princess coin purse. I'm thinking WooHoo:yay:. The little carousel starts to spin and nothing drops.. What the.... I turned to Dh and say be right back. Community Hall is right next door and I explain what happed to the CM working. He asks do I have to have that prize because it could take a while? I say anything princess would be fine and he goes into some back room and comes out with a giftbox of 4 princess dolls retailing $24.95 (SW, C, B, & SB). DD was thrilled!:woohoo: The CM then put a sticker on the machine to be repaired so no one else has the same problem.

I wanted to post some room pics. We stayed in 6411 and it was a very nice location in the resort. Being close to the Hospitality House was a big plus.

View from our balcony of the 7th green (island green). The drink girl drove by often and DH was very tempted to buy a beer but never did.

Dining and kitchen area.

DH in the living area.
100_2146.jpg

DS slept in the laundry room. This was great because we could close the door and not bother him.
100_2145.jpg

The bed in the bedroom is a bit awkward. I haven't seen metal bedframes and foot boards in a hotel before.
100_2140.jpg

My next entry should be the last. We will be visiting DTD before our 6pm flight home.

Wow!

Great stuff so far, and thanks for the pics (i will be sending them on to chief DVC decision maker aka Mom! :rotfl:)

Sound like a great trip! If a bit cold!

Thanks for the report! I wish I could convince DH for one last trip before the twosome show up, but I lose that battle every time :)

Great pics, and a nice recap, so thanks again! I love feeling like I'm there.

I need some support this week as DH just left on a business trip and I hate it when he is out of town.

My own DH is either out of town or working A LOT for much of the year, so I can commiserate! And right when you're in the post-WDW depression, too. :(

Thanks so much for posting this trip report! Hopefully making posts, looking at pictures, and listening to this week's podcast will help you make it through this week! :goodvibes
