Trip Report - Our first family DCL Cruise - Disney Fantasy Oct 13 2012 - UPDATED!!!

Thanks again for letting me re-live our fabulous trip thru your pictures & trip report!

I was also nice to see a good picture of our cabin door (10024).

^ Awesome that you participated in the gift exchange. That was our first time doing anything like this and we LOVE it!

Anyway, where did I leave off....

Tonight was the second night in Animator's Palate, with the theme of the restaurant changing from Crush to "Animation Magic", one of the most unique and impressive "Disney experiences" ever!

The restaurant has transformed once again with scenes from different movies.

Animator's Palate is simply one of the most amazing looking Disney restaurants ever. I'm shocked this concept hasn't been brought to a park or resort.

The theme is truly amazing.

Love the art from Ratatouille on the screens tonight!

Tonight Animator's Palate does something called "Animation Magic" where everyone has to draw a character...

Here are some of the characters we drew...

Anyway,we'll get back to the characters in a bit... Lets look at tonight's menu...

Again, another awesome selection...

Page two.

Once again, colour plays an important role on the plates in this dining room.

Mickey comes on the screen to let us know his team of Animators are working on our character drawings!

Lumiere kicks off a "dinner themed" montage of Disney footage.

Lots of clips from Ratatouille were included. We like this.

This is "popcorn soup" ... Very strange... But very yummy!

Quite possibly the best peppercorn steak I've ever had!

Mickey is back to let is know he has prepared a special animated feature with our drawings... And them something amazing happened...

Not only do the characters you draw come on screen, but they are fully animated...

They are first presented running across the screen...

Showing off all the characters to the tables around you...

And then... They are incorporated into actual Disney cartoons and movie clips!

Everyone in the restaurant is in awe of this, clapping along, and the atmosphere is totally nuts!

Watch this video below. While I feel it's impossible to capture how awesome the show and atmosphere was in a video, this will at least give you some idea...

And are fully animated along with the real characters on screen...

Photos and video do not do justice of how "magical" the experience is or the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Again, I am so shocked that no other Disney park or resort has tried to incorporate this concept.

Once the show is over, they list all the guest animators!

There's Robb, Elissa, and Kristen!

Oh, and there is also dessert! Since creativity was the theme, tonight was the "create your own cupcake" night!

This was a pretty big hit for KidTums!

It's even Elissa approved!

I, of course, had another Mickey bar!

We all got our characters back with an official animator stamp!

Another absolutely amazing night!

Time to go check out AquaDuck at night!

The entire ship has amazing lighting at night.

And the best part... There was no line for AquaDuck at night!!!

The ship really does look amazing at night.

And even in the quieter, "adult" locations of the ship, they still have fun, "enchanted art" to play with...

Hey! That looks familiar!

It's just like being on the boat ride at Epcot!

OMG!!! What is that on our porthole??? Oh, it's just Mexico...

Our next port was Cozumel, Mexico! For some strange reason I'm getting Deja Vu here! I guess that's better than Montezooma's Revenge, right? (Actually it's not!)

(Note - I was trying to go for grabbing Elissa's b**b in the shot, but my timing was awful!)

Welcome to Mexico! Lol.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter!

We spent most of our time in Cozumel here.

Mexico really does have some weird super hero fetish!

We thought it was interesting that a lot of the merchandise seemed to be different from our last visit and geared towards the ship in port.

This is the closest we will get to a donkey show.

All Mexicans look just like this guy.

Enough of Mexico...time to go back to the ship... Yup!

Thought this porthole animation was funny!

Since its Pirates Night tonight, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has been transformed into...

The Pirates League!!!

Kristen's fairy godmother is a "fake pirate" today! She's giving Kristen her pirate name or something.

"ARRRRRR! Tonight I'm a pirate princess!"

The whole place was cleverly re-done.

KidTums gets to choose her hairstyle...

Once again, fairy godmothers... I mean fake pirates Sarah and Nicki tend to KidTums to make her into a pirate.

A little bit of pirate make-up...

KidTums must now take the pirate oath.

KidTums says "I have no clue what fake pirate godmother Nicki is talking about! She's just rambling on like a crazy person!"

ARRRRRR! Pirate princess KidTums has been transformed!

She's ready to set sail with Jack Sparrow!

But KidTums steals them away!

It's Pirate night on the Disney Fantasy!

Tonight's dinner menu was also pirate themed.

Yummy stuff...

So much to choose from!

Love the pirate themed menu!

Remember, you can have as much of this as you want!

Pirate princess KidTums sticks with Mac n Cheese and French Fries. The official food of a pirate princess.

It looks like someone peed on my pineapple! lol

The chicken salad was simply, but VERY good...and spicy!

Haven't had even close to a bad meal yet!

Steeeeeeeak!

Once again, meat that crumbles off the bone.

Let's see... What will I get from the dessert menu...

Screw the diabetics!!!

For me... Mickey bar!!!

Elissa's true feelings come out!

I get it... Pirates IN the Caribbean! Ahhhh....

The pre-show included lots of random games and stuff for kids.

And then the Mickey pirate show began!

Mickey and Friends teach us all how to be pirates!

And then after the show, Muppet Treasure Island showed on the Funnel Vision.

We had treasure in our stateroom!

Oh, yeah... Towel animals! lol It's funny, when you're on a ship like the Disney Fantasy, that is filling with all kinds of crazy, amazing touches, you get into your room and a "normal" cruise ship thing like a towel animal, while still cool, just seems really "old school" for this ship! lol

Almost the ENTIRE boat showed up for the Jack Sparrow show and the fireworks!

It was pretty bad *** to see fireworks being launched off the back of a cruise ship!

Disney is the ONLY cruise line that does this regularly, and they have to get special permission from the coast guard to put on the show.

The fireworks were totally legit!

It was shorter than a "theme park show", but some of the fireworks were on par!

After the fireworks, the entire pool deck was transformed into a dance party!

They played Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, etc... It was pretty epic!

Then came the pirate late night buffet!

Cool pirate fruit carvings.

Lots of random fruits...

And turkey legs!!!

It was a "meat and potatoes" kind of pirate buffet!

Did I mention there were as many turkey legs as you wanted????

Hi, there! I was reading your TR because I'm currently obsessed with all things Fantasy, and I saw this photo you posted -

Are you using internet explorer or firefox? PC, tablet, ipad....? Do you see a red "x" where the pictures should be?

I've tried both IE and Mozilla Firefox. With IE I see red x's with Firefox I don't see anything except the text.

If it was just IE and not firefox I would say it has something to do with your internet security settings. But if its happening on both firefox and IE it sounds like you have some type of plugin that is not working or needs to be updated. More than likely it is java. Google "java download" and download the latest version from their site. If that doesn't help you may have some type of virus that is affecting your internet browser. If you are using windows XP or win 7 you can try to use system restore to restore your computer back to an earlier date that you know the browser was working correctly. Hope this helps.
