Tried to be sneaky but the trick was on us! A family reunites... June 2014

Hey now Marcie, don't dis POP, lol.

Aww that is SO CUTE with the boys holding hands. They must have just been in heaven to be together in Disney.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WANNA WAIT FOR THE SURPRISE!!!!!!! Oh ok, I'll wait.

Oooh a test run with your friends. Good strategy. :thumbsup2

Hehe! I'm not dissing POP but spoiler alert, I dont think I liked it as much as you. :(((( but still in Disney!!

The boys really did enjoy their time together. We never get to see him, so this was a treat & being at Disney was the icing on top.

Sorry that staying another night at POR didn't work out!

Cute picture of the boys -- fun to have a cousin so close in age!! :goodvibes

Now you've got me anxiously awaiting the surprise!! :thumbsup2

(Oh, and I was surprised today when I looked at the calendar and realized that Labor Day weekend actually starts in August this year!).

It is fun! They are only 8 months apart. I found out I was expecting 4 days after my nephew was born.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one confused about Labor Day. Lol!

Spill the surprise already!

bummer about it not working out to just stay at POR - but hey, still in Disney so not all bad

That is a great picture of the two cousins holding hands walking down main st. before you know it they will be "too cool" to do that.

Glad you got things sorted our with your Labor Day weekend plans now, like you said. It is kinda confusing with actual Labor Day being in September so it is almost like it being the first weekend.

Yep- I give it 3 or 4- if that, more years and they will be way too cool to hold hands!

Labor Day weekend is rather confusing but I know not to make that mistake again!

Aw man! That stinks that yall weren't able to work it out to stay at POR another night, but Pop is so much fun & it's one of our MOST FAVORITES EVER! <3

I love the pictures in front of the castle! Especially the one of the boys holding hands. How precious is that?!

Mmmm Peco's Bills! YUM! Definitely a good choice.

I can't wait to hear what the SURPRISE is! Woo!

I love the pics too! I wish we would have done some at night but oh well!

Love Pecos Bills! It's not a Disney trip without it!

Well we've already had two surprises but this one has to do with my dad! If you have been reading along- you would know my dad surprised us & my sister doesnt know at this point. :)

Ok, So I am a little late to the party but I had to read it since you started it on my birthday (June 21st). I took that as a sign that I was meant to read it and then I saw that you took advice from Rob (Disneykid4life) and knew I had to read.

We haven't been down in 5 years and it is killing me but we are looking at going again next summer. It's hard getting there as much as I would like because my Husband doesn't want to drive and flying is expensive.

Noooooo, I WANT to see the surprise!!! LOL! Great report. Your boys are adorable. It's so nice to see your MIL having a great time. So sorry about your mom. That pic with your boys brought tears to my eyes. Looking forward to the next installment!

Well I'm glad you joined in and happy belated birthday!!! Rob is a DIS favorite and he totally rocks!

I hope you are able to make it next summer. We normally love the fall but June was great too!

Thank you Teresa!!! I've been really missing her lately but I'm very thankful I have the memories & especially that picture.

I'm glad that you are reading along! It really was so fun to see MIL having fun- she doesn't get to get out much so of course Disney was a dream come true!

Continued....

We arrived at Pecos Bill's and got in line and ordered. I ordered a taco salad, Steve got a bacon cheeseburger, Lawson got a kids cheeseburger and we got Landen a yogurt and I had some snacks for him as well. I think Jessica got a taco salad as well. We loaded up with all the yummy toppings- it is my favorite part of Pecos Bills.

We found a table and it wasn't 10 minutes into eating- when my dad pulled off the THIRD surprise of the day!!! LOVED it and so glad I could be there at this exact moment and see their faces!!

This was the first time that we had all been together since my mom's funeral & my nephew was even missing then so this time was very special to me. It's even more special now, as I know I previously mentioned two updates ago that my sister is having some problems and it's hard because she is in Nashville and I am here in South Carolina. But that is a story for another day.

We finished up our dinner & headed back out into the kingdom... had told Lawson previously that when we saw Aunt J and H that if he didn't tell them that Papa Tom was here- that I would buy him a surprise. It was really funny because he had said " I will just tell them that Papa Tom is NOT here," LOL. I told him he couldn't even mention him so of course I had to deliver what I promised. We got in line and rode POTC ( a family favorite) and then got dumped in the shop so we let the boys pick out swords! They were in heaven... $25.00 on swords. It just comes with the territory of having boys!

The boys playing with their swords!

It was getting close to 7 p.m.- so I wanted to find a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade!

There was a sorcerers of the kingdom stop right behind where we stood and honestly, this was the first time that I had ever paid attention & it is something I would definitely like to do next time.

I was getting so excited about the parade when it started drizzling yet AGAIN whenever we heard a voice say " Due to weather conditions, there will be no MSEP, I repeat no MSEP." I seriously wanted to cry. MSEP seriously is just timeless to me. The music, the lights, the feelings.. I love it all. Would my MIL get to see her very first ( and maybe only) parade at Disney? I held out hope that we could still view the one at 11 p.m. Would we get our wish???

Intermission- I hate I am having to do these small updates but that is all I have time for right now. :( School starts back on Monday & my part time status starts too! EEEkkk!! We signed up Lawson for flag football ( He is SOOOO excited) trying to decide about sending Landen to a church preschool ( Laws did all three years there before kindergarten), getting ready for beach for Labor Day, other personal things going on... We have a pool party on Saturday and a boat ride on the lake Sunday to wrap up our summer so I am busy, busy busy! Life really does get in the way of my DIS time AND trying to plan next year's Disney trip. Which brings me to this-

I wanted to get some of my readers' opinion on Spring Break or Presidents Day week. Our tentative plan was February 26-March 3 but now I am thinking about P.D.- as we are out of school here that Friday and Monday but are worried about crowds and then I'm contemplating Spring Break. Am I crazy??! Alicia and Rob- are your tentative plans still my dates? I definitely want to meet up if it would work out!!

Fall is definitely my most favorite time to visit the World but I know my friends will not want to wait until then. The when of a Disney trip is definitely the hardest to narrow down ( next to resort choice, LOL :confused3)

Oh, those photos are priceless! I love surprises!

I hope you'll get to see the later parade. It's a bummer when the weather ruins plans.

I know President's Day weekend is pretty crowded, but the rest of the week may not be too bad. It's got to be less crowded than Spring Break.

Cousins are best friend aren't they :)
My three year old loves spending time with his cousin. Just the other day my SIL and I were talking about taking a WDW/Universal trip together in a few years when our boys are tall enough to ride the rides together. The boys are about 40 inches tall now so we have some time to plan and imagine what fun we will have.

I have never been to the world in february but we might one day since my DH bday is in that month.
In 2008 we spent spring break at WDW . There was 8 of us and it was busy, we waited in a few long lines. We had a FP runner (haha a thing of the past) my SIL younger brother so that was a huge help but with a good plan you can have fun any time of the year at WDW :thumbsup2

Anyway have a great rest of the summer looks like your dad was a great surprise for your sister.

Great update...your sister does look completely surprised your dad was there.

I have been to WDW after Presidents Day and there is no one there. The longest I waited in a line was 30 mins and that was for Soarin' first thing in the morning. I was there on Feb. 26, 2013. It was after the Daytona 500 and everyone had left from Presidents Week. Most of the rides were walk on. I would think if you wait a week, you are going to get the bigger spring break crowds.

Presidents Weekend is larger crowds but definitely better than spring break. I have done both and late Feb is my favorite time to visit WDW.

Oh Marcie, I'm tearing up reading this reunion. So glad it was captured on film (or memory card as the case may be). The pure emotion is so wonderful.

"I will just tell them that Papa Tom is NOT here" Haha, sounds logical to me.

POTC swords!!! I kinda like them myself.

Oh dear. While rainy weather can be nice sometimes to keep down crowds, it really stinks when it keeps cancelling stuff. I so hope the 11pm parade happens.

I have never done President's Day before, but I have heard it is REALLY crowded. President's Day week (16-22) will be really bad. I think the dates you mentioned beginning Feb 26 crowd wise would be lovely. In fact, I think it will one of the best weeks crowd wise next year. When you get past the first week of March (roughly March 7 onward) is when the Spring Break crowds will start to roll in. If you want the lower crowds, I'd stick with the dates you listed.
I'm not 100% on the dates for me just yet, but I do believe it would be in the last week of Feb timeframe.

so glad the surprise worked out and what lovely pictures of everyone! That must have been quite the range of emotions you were feeling at that time - and even now reliving it.

Very much hope things worked out with the later MSEP!

Thanks Annie! So do I!!

I am leaning more towards sticking with February myself- I browsed the forum and did a search for SB crowds and it seems like a nightmare :(

That sounds like a great plan that you and your sister have!! I want to take mine to Universal one day as well but want to wait until they are old enough to ride everything.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on SB with me!

I hope you have a good rest of your summer as well!
