Trick or Treating at the Fort for Halloween

T or T was great this year. No problems,no accidents, no crazy people. Traffic was handled very well and we actually had time to interact with the T or T'ers when giving out candy.

Whatever "lockdown" the management did worked for us.

We were actually staying at FW on Halloween this year and I was so sad we missed the Halloween activites because we HAD to be at MK on Halloween!! We actually did AK in the morning (rained alot) and by 1pm back in the cabin to nap and get ready. We had younglings 11, 9, and 5 who rarely stay up til the witching hour. LOL We left around 4 for MK on the ferry, and it was incredible. But I sooooo wish we could have seen the golf cart parade! Our bus driver the next morning talked about its awesomeness! And in our travels around the Fort, we did see some pretty cool decorated golf carts! Loved Mater! Loved the POC ship!

Yes it appears that Disney did a great job this year of keeping the locals from coming into the Fort just to T or T. The T or T crowds were definitely smaller this year, based on what others have said, and it was really quite nice. We had candy left over but the kids didn't mind. This was our first year at the Fort during Halloween and we really enjoyed all the decorations and activities for the kids.

Now if Disney would only do some control on the groups that seem to congregate at the Fort and cause alot of ruckas. There was a large group of them that would gather in the 500 loop,(some in 400 and 600 as well as others scattered around the Fort) with purple signs at their sites, and boy were they obnoxious. They were loud and unruley. Luckily most of them left shortly after Halloween and the rest of them took their signs down and then acted like normal campers. Disney needs to crack down on this behaviour, after all it is suppose to be a family campground not a place for foul-mouthed drunks. It's pretty bad when you can't let your kids out after dark because of these people and the way they behave.

Purple signs - you say?

Obnoxious, loud, and unruly - you say?

Foul mouth drunks - you say?

Based on your description alone these folks sound pretty socially immature. All you can do is register a complaint with the Fort front desk and, like the off-site ToT's, eventually steps will be taken with them.

Boy they sound lame.

I do believe there have been a couple of other groups that have been pretty unruly during their stay at the Fort so bad that the county police had to be called in, but that still did not slow them down.
We have seen the same problems at other campgrounds and some owners have asked people to leave on the spot, I do not think you will ever see this happen at the Fort. JMO
