Travel Time from Port of Miami to MIA Airport

Hi DisBoarders;
We will be disembarking the Magic in the Port of Miami on a Sunday morning. We have to fly about 8 hours to get home at a decent time so our son can get back to school on the Monday morning. Hes going to be missing 8 days of school with the B2B cruises.

Here are a couple of questions for those who have actually sailed out of Miami before.

1. Could we disembark, catch a taxi to the airport and make a 10:45am domestic flight on a Sunday morning?

2. Is there a taxi stand at the terminal?

3. What would the taxi fare be for a family of 3 from the port to the airport?

4. Are there any other options I should consider? I know.... take a later flight...

We can fly out at noon but our layover in Dallas would be less than an hour for our connecting flight NORTH.

was there last month. Had an 1130 flight to Buffalo. no problem
taxi stand right out front
flat rate of $26 to airport
about a 20 min drive

think you would be fine if you left the ship by 0800 (assuming you are flying direct to Canada and would need to go through customs at the airport)

just re-read your post and see you stated it was a domestic flight. You should have no problem making your flight. And if you are at all concerned about a delay in picking up your luggage when you debark you can always keep it with you on the last night (instead of putting it out in the hall for the porters to deliver to the dock in the morning). that way when you leave your room in the morning and go to breakfast you will need to take them with you and then debark.
