Please check the small print in your travel insurance policy documents before traveling to DLP.
A friend PMd me last night with a warning about travel insurance under the present State of Emergency in France.
His airline has lost one of his suitcases on the way to DLP so he called his travel insurance company to make a claim for the lost bag - apparently he was not covered to travel under his insurance due to the State of Emergency in France.
His policy excludes countries under 'States of Emergancy' and they are refusing to pay out. He is just thankful no urgent medical issues arose while he was in DLP as he would not have been covered for that either.
He called them before he left to make sure he was covered and was told he was, now they say he was not. He's making a complaint to them and the ombudsman.
The State of Emergency in France is scheduled to last until February unless it gets extended.
