What's are best options to get to universal studios for one day?
Rent a car, taxi other?

My 3 adult daughters did this once when the Harry Potter area first opened. They used the Mears shuttle (the one described in the linked article) from Saratoga Springs and found it to be very convenient and reasonably priced.

We ended up splitting a taxi with a couple that happened to be waiting out front of POR last October. I think the cost ended up being around $25 for our half?

We have always just grabbed a taxi. The last time was in 2012 from BWI and it cost around $35 one way if i remember correctly.
