The menu of Nine Dragons looks a little more to our liking but was worried about the difference in the reviews. Thanks!

Our Ratings of Teppan Edo: (*rev 12/22/2013*)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: C
. . . food quantity per serving: C
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys: Assorted Tempura
. . . entree: Nihonbashi
. . . dessert:Green Tea Cheesecake

NOTE1: Hibachi tables seat eight (two each side, four front side). Sometimes they can
squeeze nine if several kids. Depending upon the chef it can be exciting and entertaining,
or it can be almost dull. Quality is below a Benihana, but above average for Japanese
cuisine. It should be noted that medium or large appetites will want to stop before or
after dinner for a snack, as portions are medium-sized and big eaters can leave hungry.
(Just to answer a common question, they only serve white rice, as fried rice is Chinese.)

NOTE2: We think the Benihana at the Hilton in the Downtown Disney Hotel District is better
than Teppan Edo for both food quality and "the show" the chef puts on.

Our recommendations:
. . . appys: Appetizer Trio (serves two people)
. . . entree: Honey-Sesame Chicken, Frangrant Five-Spiced Fish
. . . dessert:Banana Cheesecake Egg Roll

NOTE: We eat area Chinese frequently, and were pleased by Nine Dragons. Although
not the best, we thought it was quite good for Epcot's typically Americanized meals.
The Sesame Chicken was surprising good. I can't count Nine Dragons as fine dining,
but certainly well above average.

IMHO, 9 Dragons is no better than your local Chinese restaurant, just much more expensive. Haven't done Tokyo Dining but have found the Teppanyki dining to be fun if you don't already have one of those in your home town.

Tokyo Dining is fantastic! We've only eaten there once but it's on our do again list. The service, food and atmosphere were top notch.

I haven't had any desire to ever eat at Nine Dragons as we eat Chinese way too much at home.

Tokyo Dining without a doubt was a better meal. The atmosphere is great, the servers really try to give the feel of an authentic Japanese meal, with hot towels and their overall respectful demeanor. In my opinion the food quality was much better than nine dragons.
