Toy Story Mania or Jedi Training

Our family with 6 and 8 year olds are planning a morning HS visit. They really want to do Jedi Training and Toy Story Mania. We won't have fastpasses for HS since we are using them at MK at night. And, our hotel bus leaves at 8:30 a.m., so no way to get to the entrance early assuming there's a long line already for people that show up before rope drop. If we get to the park at 9, what's the wait look like for signing up for Jedi training, as in do the lines get long very fast, will we wait really long where it'll end up being an hour wait when we go over to Toy Story? Is that ride insane to think of riding without a fastpass like the 7DMT ride is? Chances of getting a morning Jedi training? Just curious based on anyone's previous experience. Thank you!!

We arrived at the park when it opened and went directly to the sign up for Jedi Training, we were second. Unless it has changed, you have to have the kids with you to do the sign up. At sign up they give you the time of the Jedi Training they will participate in. We took the first available which was the first one, but you may be able to get a later time and then as soon as sign up is finished head directly to Toy Story Mania. I think the lines depend on the crowds. Not sure what hotel bus you will be using but if it is really important for you, it might be worth it to take a taxi to be there when the park opens. Most hotels will allow you to pre-arrange a morning taxi pick-up the night before. Best of Luck!

We did Jedi Training Academy over Easter and signed up as soon as the park opened. You can sign up for Jedi first and then make your way to Toy Story but you will likely still experience a wait.

We signed up for Jedi Academy right when the park opened then rode TSM without a fastpass. There was minimal wait for either but we did this last September so that might have had more to do with the minimal wait times.
