Tongue Tied and Twisted at the DIS Unplugged Mega Meet - 9/24 Final Update***

DAY 3 - CONTINUED

OK, so I mentioned that IASW is my favorite. Being the Disney dork that I am and knowing I'd be riding it today (or at least trying to), I busted out one of my IASW LeSportsacs. Sure, it's a great park bag and handles a beating much better than a Dooney, but I kind of feel like I'm taking the bag home when I use it on the ride. This is a pic of her before I took off the tags...but she has now been on both DL's and WDW's IASW.

And if you didn't already know...I am a huge Mary Blair fan, so having a bag with concept art is a major plus. Love Alice Davis too, but I haven't gotten any of the bags (yet) that pay homage to the dolls.

My photos on this attraction are always mixed in quality, but I used my faster lens this time and went for different manual settings than my norms. It definitely helped some...

Definitely more noise and lighting issues than I would have liked, but it's progress from photographs from previous trips.

Also love how they now have your names at the end.

28521910821_9ff04e6993_z.jpg

This is probably my favorite feature of IASW, but I only took a profile pic b/c he's in need of a cleaning. Not to sound critical, but he had dirty cheeks. I've never seen it like this...at least, I don't think.

28521905281_6ff492ef60_z.jpg

We also got to see the clock go off...

28568137906_dec46eb2e6_z.jpg

I know there's no space for it, but it's too bad it doesn't have all of the figures that come out like DL's.

Now, I wish others in my group would understand and or at least appreciate my love for this. Kendall gets it, but I got an earful from Sammie about how it's creepy, my mom wanted to talk to me through the whole thing, and David started going on with some random guy afterwards about how that's a part of their lives they will never get back. I offer to ride on my own, but everyone keeps choosing to go along for the ride!

The kids asked to ride Peter Pan, but we all know what that standby time can be like if you don't hit it early.

28315986030_79ddacac4c_z.jpg

Everyone wanted to check again on BTMRR even though it was still listed as closed on the app.

(passing "Potty time with Rapunzel")

Kendall begged us to skip this...

28315961460_2b325e6b76_z.jpg

We decide to give her a break and head back to Adventureland.

27984372813_069beb2063_z.jpg

Love all of the details in this area...

28521834091_42ba99bb20_z.jpg

Jungle Cruise was showing a fairly short wait. It's one of those that's I don't love, yet it's iconic to the point that I feel sort of obligated to ride. I mean, how can it be a Disney trip without witnessing the backside of water.

28493449842_21a1ef27c1_z.jpg

The line moved very quickly, but that didn't stop me from snapping pics in the queue (while discussing whether or not the tarantula is real).

And this appears to be our boat...

27984238613_67268337d1_z.jpg

Still plenty more to come on Day 3, but I'm calling it a night. I'm going to do my best to update things over the next week, but Kendall's bday is next Tuesday and after MONTHS of telling me she wanted a James Bond themed birthday cake (she wanted me to sculpt an actual Gold Finger), she now wants a Maleficent cake. I think I'm going to be cursing myself for this one, but I'm probably going to try sculpting her in dragon form out of a gumpaste blend (too hot here to be playing with modeling chocolate). Of course, I also have to work at my real job and get stuff ready for back to school (among other things)...so who knows where I'm going to find this time.

Thanks for reading :)

Picking back up on Day 3...

We boarded the Jungle Cruise and saw the wonder that is ... the back side of water.

28600075205_373e9b58f2_z.jpg

Although, when it comes to corny Jungle Cruise jokes, my fave is the one about the favorite plants (that one, and that one, and that one)

Took a few more pics on our cruise...

And then it was time to say good-bye.

28600004865_c0b2f87282_z.jpg

But we didn't go far. While we just passed by the Tiki room earlier...I was now ready to go in.

27984063193_3a52fbed9b_z.jpg

I don't know why, but while I like to sit near Jose, I picked the section on the wrong side of Jose. Not that there's a bad place to sit, but I just wasn't thinking straight. Still, I got a few pics inside and even better, the CM remembered to actually wake up Jose. I've found this tradition to be forgotten some of the time at WDW's Tiki Room.

I guess at least I did have a great view of Fritz during the show...

28521393691_af28835756_z.jpg

...and was face to beak with Jose on the way out. Well, sort of.

28567298046_a0a9ec7959_z.jpg

It was getting kind of warm out and it had been a while since breakfast, so we decided it was OK to have a Dole Whip. While crowds were pretty low at this point, I was surprised that there was no line for a Dole Whip. Sorry, I couldn't wait... I took the pic after first bite. I mean, I didn't want it to melt!

28315553880_8178b1a0be_z.jpg

My mom got one too. She's become a huge fan too. I make them at home now and then, but it's so much better in he parks. As you can also see, I am straight soft serve and not into the float.

With Big Thunder still down, we needed to decide - what next? We were going to try to head to a water park, but were hoping for a little more time in MK...so, we started walking...

28315543060_1c6b6c7c7a_z.jpg

We hadn't been anywhere near Tomorrowland, so we had to fix that...

Time to hit a must do...

28492955202_a09858f861_z.jpg

Or maybe I just have an obsession with Mr. Morrow. ;)

While there are some attractions that can easily polarize a group of Disney fans, I've found pretty much everyone loves the Peoplemover. I tried not to get too crazy with pics, but I took a few along the way.

And we're off...

28567135206_b177a5cb2e_z.jpg

There was temptation to ride CoP, but as it was, we knew we'd be pushing it arriving so late at a WDW water park, so we didn't want to stay too much longer. So, we started heading for the front of the park.

28567099366_9046e7f4ba_z.jpg

My parents were going to head back to PORS, so we parted ways. They went to the buses and we were hoping to catch the express monorail.

28315350190_c0312e3b7d_z.jpg

We were informed that the computers for the express were acting up. So, they moved us to the center platform area so we could load onto the resort monorail.

28521122661_10c86fde7e_z.jpg

At least the resort loop didn't seem to be having any issues.

28567035396_871ff7fddf_z.jpg

28599563465_5def309fe3_z.jpg

In some ways, this hiccup was a good thing. We had no plans this trip to pop into the Contemporary, even though it's my absolute fave resort. Maybe some of it is the Mary Blair mural...so getting to see it...even if just in passing...was major happiness for me.

28599535625_0f50f8028e_z.jpg

Now to find the car...

28493211082_d3a849a6be_z.jpg

What's really funny, we knew where the car was...just couldn't see the little area to walk under the road. A CM kept asking what area of the lot we were in and all I could say was...we are literally right over there...just need to get there. It was just really funny...parked so close and we can't find the way to the car.

We did eventually get there and decided to take off for Typhoon Lagoon. The thought...we'd be going to DHS right after, so the location is better for that. Just like the next night, we were planning on AK for that night, so Blizzard Beach made more sense the next day. So, we wound up in a pack of buses going to TL and just followed them. We pulled into the lot and while the park was still open, the lot was full. They redirected us to Disney Springs to park and that a shuttle would bring us back to the water park. When we got to the parking area, we saw a large queue of people waiting for bus and a full bus about to pull away. Even though it's right across the street, we saw no evidence of a steady stream of shuttles while we sat there and decided what to do. We were also concerned that we were already cutting it close on time and the shuttle situation would just add more time to that process. Sooooooooooooooo, we decided to skip it and head back to PORS for some pool time.

We got back to the room to change and found Donald hanging on for dear life.

28492650832_8579ea89d5_z.jpg

Not sure how long we were at the pool, but we were there for quite a while. There was a little bit of drama...a baby snake up at the top of the slide. Someone said it was a water moccasin, but I saw the snake and it didn't look like one to me. Not that I wanted to find out the hard way, but it looked like a water snake. Either way, some CMs removed the snake from the pool area. Kendall also had some drama...she wanted to partake in the pool games, but they were tossing these tiny koosh ball looking things in the water, and she got kicked in the face in the scramble to snatch up all the balls. She was fine, but she was done with the games. I also decided to hit up the hot tub for a little bit. I was in physical therapy for my shoulder before the trip and wanted to get the hot jets running on it. I had this little boy come over and talk my ear off for part of it. He was adorable, but his mom couldn't understand why he wanted to sit in the hot tub with a bunch of adults.

All in all, we REALLY liked the PORS pool. We've stayed at most of the deluxe resorts and I'd put this second, behind Stormalong. All the water pouring down from the chutes and such were just as much fun for the kids (and the adults) as the slide. We also met a lot of nice people both days at the pool.

We had to meet my parents at Star Tours by 4:45, so we had to leave the pool and clean up for the evening.

Coming up- a trio of FPs, childhood dreams come true, dinner at Sci Fi, and Lightning - Oh My!

That IASW bag is adorable! I didn't know Le Sports Sac made any Disney bags :goodvibes I'm a bit obsessed with the Dooney and Bourke bags and am considering which one I'm buying next. I have a Disneyana from a couple years ago, the Runway Princess and a HM one. I ordered a D&B MB and after confirming my order, the Disney Store sent an email that it was out of stock  Not happy! Which is why I'm taking another Disers suggestion to put the MB $$ towards another bag lol.
Also your IASW pictures came out really good; mine always stink. That's too bad TL didn't work out that day but that whole being rerouted to DS for a shuttle would make me say no way right away.
Like you, Jungle Cruise isn't one of my favorites and for the most part I'm ok if we don't ride it every trip. However, last Nov. we did the Jingle Cruise for the first time and I thought that was great; loved all the holiday changes!

Thanks! I don't know how long they've been doing bag collaborations with Disney, but I found out about them in 2011 when the Small World line was first introduced. I don't know if they ever show up in the stores at WDW, and they definitely don't show up on the website, so that may be why a lot of people don't know. They've done a number of lines...lots of Mickey and Minnie, Tink, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and the Small World ones- which involved new patterns ever couple of months were big. This is my fave bag out of the Small World patterns, but it's too small if I want to carry my lenses.

8101402393_060ca212aa_z.jpg

While I haven't gotten to that point in the TR, I will come face to face with the DDB MBs and have to pick bag or band. I had heard a number of people had similar issues with orders being canceled. Very frustrating!

Yes, I do like the Jingle Cruise a bit better. We almost skipped DL's back in December, but I'm glad we didn't as it's different.

We had a feeling TL (or really water parks in general) weren't going to work, but the group tickets automatically included this option...so we figured we'd try. Next time :)

joining in - it will be fun to follow your trip and see if/when it overlaps with mine

We had a similar feeling in that the reason we came down was for the Megameet but it was still our family vacation so balancing things was tough and we didn't get to do many of the events (we did do the scavenger hunt which was fun)

Oh, and I was the winner of your Disneyland print - I thought it was really neat ... great job!

Sorry Raglan Road wasn't better - that's been one of our favorites usually really liking the apps and the bread pudding the best. So many dining options at Disney Springs now

Sorry about the issue trying to get to a water park- at least your resort pool seems really nice and almost like a mini-water park

I love the line in the Jungle Cruise about the plants as well. This past trip we heard a variant that I hadn't heard before: "Over there is a hibiscus ... and under that is the lowbiscus ... and in the water is the seabiscus"

Looking forward to your DHS night

I think it will be really funny if we wind up picking ourselves out in each others pics.

It was frustrating because I kept thinking we might be able to do a few more things if I restructured our days, but with ADRs and FPs booked, relaxing into the plans we already had set seemed like the best plan.

Cool! I was wondering who got the prints. I have an album that I'm building of artsy prints I've made from my Disney photos. None yet from this trip, but that's probably because my creative side is currently stuck making dragon Maleficent and a bunch of thorny vines from fondant and gumpaste. Things we do for kids in spare time. In case you care to see it, this is what the photo looked like before I started messing with things.

23576671293_521dfddf2e_z.jpg

At least the kids had a lot of fun at Raglan Road. There really are a ton of options in DS now. I now have 4 or 5 places we really want to try.

The pool really was great, but we are probably going to hit up one of our local water parks to make up for things. It won't be as well themed, but they'll still have a blast.

Yes! We got the hibiscus joke as well!

Thanks for following along!

Day 3- Continued

We got cleaned up and headed out to catch a bus to DHS. I was nervous because I'd heard mixed opinions on PORS buses. We got out to the bus stop and it wasn't reading bus times for all of the parks and from the buses we saw pull up in the first 5 minutes, those which were listed were inaccurate. So, we talked to the nice family next to us and waited. It was under a 10 min wait, so nothing major. And I think we're all happy when I don't have to do all of the driving.

28599447595_edf6703918_z.jpg

I shifted into my new Star Wars bag for the night...and the woman who did my bag check did notice.

I had to stop for a moment when entering the park because I saw something I haven't seen since my first MGM visit in 1991...a hatless park.

28566835586_26d3096229_z.jpg

We were supposed to meet my parents at Star Tours by about 4:45pm for our first FP. We got into the park around 4:20pm and I had this wild idea. I was going to make good on a promise that fell through on our holiday Disneyland trip. Yes...we were going to meet Chewbacca. Even I was super excited. His wait was listed at 15 minutes, so it would be close, but we had to try. We power walked over there and once the kids realized what was going on, they were absolutely giddy. We went to get in line for him and some Storm Troopers immediately got in between us and the kids and corralled them over to the line for Kylo Ren. There was some protesting, so they let the kids go. It was hysterical.

The line for Chewbacca was at least moving and there were neat displays along the way.

28566808876_2ee934dc35_z.jpg

I'd say it took 10 minutes to get in and the kids immediately rushed to him.

28315102840_7d308f1c86_z.jpg

I don't normally get in the character pics unless it's Donald, but the photographer encouraged me to let him take pics with my camera. I hung back for a bit just watching and then I felt a furry hand on my shoulder. It was so bizarre and so cool all at once. I'm old enough to have seen Star Wars - A New Hope in theaters as a kid during the first run...even though I slept through a lot of it. I remember that Halloween after Empire Strikes Back where we all had to be Chewbacca...so this was huge. And all of his "talking" made it that much better.

28599297085_7d966e91f7_z.jpg

Kylo Ren was listing a 5 min wait, but it was really no wait, so we decided to meet him as well.

28566654756_ca82ee6fac_z.jpg

I wish we had more time, because there was some really cool stuff in there and I think everyone wanted to trade with the Jawa...

28520742781_d21bdf9797_z.jpg

...but we were on a tight schedule and needed to meet my parents.

28492394102_287d48df2a_z.jpg

Time for Star Tours...
27982063694_a8f9da4615_z.jpg

28520700701_43fcdab438_z.jpg

28599160415_d4e7df3caf_z.jpg

We didn't get a chance to ride this at Disneyland, so it was our first time seeing the updates from The Force Awakens. Nothing earth shattering, but also nice to see some new stuff. My only complaint was the people seated with us...well, some of them. There was a group that took up the first 3 rows of our simulator and they would not shut up. One of them ended up being the Rebel Spy, so that made it worse. And they clearly didn't get the hint from all of the people saying "UGH" and "Be quiet!" David thought this was what I was talking about with tour groups, but this just appeared to be a family. At least it's something we've been on before that doesn't have insane waits if we wanted to do it again.

We had a 5:20 ADR at Sci Fi and it was about 5:10, so we went to check in.

27982034034_37a76046f7_z.jpg

This was another first for us. The menu never seemed very exciting and I'd heard mixed reviews on the food, but the theme always seemed like a must for us at some point. We didn't get one of the tables where you sit 2 by 2, but in the end, we were happier being able to see each other and talk. Well, the adults...the kids were just happy to color.

27983245653_53aafe4663_z.jpg

28599114245_7fe3bfab90_z.jpg

I was not prepared for how dark it is in there. I should have figured it would be like the theaters where you can eat a meal and watch a movie, but logic was failing me at the time. I wound up just taking pics with my phone because sometimes it's easier than messing with settings on my camera.

28311776370_65cd9bba1f_z.jpg

28311770170_511acdf74b_z.jpg

28563424616_959167c73c_z.jpg

Not that it shows up well in pics, but I love how even the license plates are Disney.

28595971855_d246c39210_z.jpg

I had been thinking about a drink, but when they said s'mores milkshake...well, I had to have one (as did both kids and my mom).

27980159203_dfa0075887_z.jpg

We started with the sampler. I'm not a huge fan of fried pickles, wings aren't my thing, but the onion rings were great. We also discovered that Sammie loves onion rings.

28311726010_d476427310_z.jpg

We all got burgers for our entrees...some special and some regular. The special burgers were topped with fried Boursin cheese. We were mixed on it, but as a whole, the burgers were good.

27978932554_bd1d7d0bae_z.jpg

I think this was a big hit with my parents, simply because they recognized nearly everything that came up on the screen. i.e. huge nostalgia trip for them. Not sure if it's a must for us, but I'd go back.

Our next two FPs were for RnRC and ToT. My parents wouldn't be joining us on those, so we went our separate ways for the night. We were already in our FP window for RnRC, so we headed that way. We passed the Star Wars show going on along the way and had another major WOW. I mean, seeing R2D2 and C3PO in person for any kid who grew up with this stuff is just so cool.

28566508696_d438d97906_z.jpg

I also took note of the storm clouds starting to grow...

27981957724_cb97495327_z.jpg

Also spotted our first BTG along the way.

28314763610_5623e00d59_z.jpg

And there's ToT taunting me...

27983172243_c8d053e8ba_z.jpg

But that's later...it's roller coaster time.

28566446786_a55d65b43c_z.jpg

28492127302_6527a96752_z.jpg

The girls have never been on this...so, I wasn't sure how this was going to go. They LOVED California Screamin', so I was pretty sure we'd be OK. They were pumped, so I just kept it positive.

We breezed through the line...

I was riding with Kendall, who is the more nervous of the two. She was fine about the ride, but had a flip out moment just before that her cheapo sunglasses might fall out of the little pouch. We were mere seconds from take off when I got her to calm down and enjoy. When we got off, glasses were fine and both girls insisted they were all smiles through the ride...even begging to ride again. Our picture never came up, so we moved on. I don't normally buy ride pictures or really and Photopass pics, since I take so many of my own, but I couldn't resist purchasing this proof of their so called smiles.

Priceless!!!

After this, it was time for ToT. Only problem, Kendall was chickening out and David...who has never ridden ToT...said he should be the one to keep her company. How did I get stuck with this again? I don't like ToT beyond the great theme, but Sammie does. I took ToT duty for her at DCA, and now it's on me again? So, one last pic before we head up to do some free falling.

Sammie informed me that part of why she wanted to ride again was that she couldn't see or hear the preshow at DCA. We were first in the room, so I positioned her so she could see perfectly...and thankfully, we were in a fairly quiet group. I asked her if we could go since she now got to see and hear it. Nope. She wanted to ride. We were seated with a guy who was a single rider...I apologized afterwards for taking it to ugly scream territory. He got a good laugh. When I got to see our video, it appeared we also had some ladies who were good at doing poses during the photo point in the ride. Yea - not me- again...ugly scream.

We got stuck in the crowd waiting for Fantasmic!...all in the name of ice cream.

With our FPs done and nothing good left for FPs in DHS, we went back and forth on what to do. Nobody wanted to wait for TSMM and we weren't up for Star Tours again, so we decided to head towards the GMR...only showing a 20 min wait.

We had a tough time getting there as some of the Star Wars actors were exiting the stage. We encountered a Storm Trooper along the way, but handlers were constantly yelling at people to not touch him.

...but we finally made it.

I was wondering what the weather would be like when we got out. The wind was picking up, I had heard some faint rumbles, and there were clouds all around the area that had the potential to make the night a mess. But...we went in...

After taking this pic, the girl behind me started up conversation. She said it was beautiful, which I agreed, but I explained that I like to take detail pics to turn them into artful images. Apparently, she was the child of a CM...over some stuff in AK- not sure what...but she spends a lot of her downtime in the parks. I think she was middle school age, so a bit older than Kendall, but really only by about 2 or 3 years. I also explained about the Mega Meet and Give Kids the World, so that was interesting. I tried to also take pics along the way.

OK- it didn't go well...I don't talk and take pics well. David made fun of me for my new friend, but she was a sweet kid.

It was finally ride time...

I still don't love this one, but it's grown on me a bit over the years.

So, right was we're getting off the ride, my weather alerts started going off on my phone. It wasn't raining, but I could see lightning in every direction. People were picking out spots for fireworks and here we are just trying to decide to stay or go. It was a gamble. The one app put the storms right on top of us just before fireworks and another had it happening during or just after. The reality...it might die out or move a different way and not impact the park at all. I know we missed out on the best new night show on property and I don't think the storms ever impacted the park, but we decided not to take the chance. We headed back to PORS. Not a big fan of sharing the return buses with POFQ or the overall crowds on the bus. We've never experienced this before with the other resorts. Kendall was also up towards the front, holding on to railing and with a driver who did a lot of hard braking, I had to pray the whole way that she didn't go flying.

We made it back unscathed though and decided to explore the shop.

We also caught a little bit of Yehaa Bob's show...

We found an open table, but it was at the very back of the room. We could hear great, but couldn't see a thing. We gave up on it after hearing him do Grim Grinning Ghosts and a few other faves. I took a random pic of some hidden Mickeys in the lobby...

...and called it a night.

Coming up- Day 4- Epcot, AK, and some food and drinks

First, I love the dress you have on in these pictures! Second, I love fried pickles lol! However not a fan of fried pickle spears, which apparently is how they serve them at Sci-fi (I haven't had them there). Most places I've had them serve fried pickle chips. OK, now that I got that out of the way......;)

Now I'll also admit that while I LOVE TOT and it's my favorite ride in all of WDW, I'm not a SW fan :duck:Nope, never even watched any of the movies, although I've tried watching the first one a couple times. Just can't get into it. My boys have seen the first one also but aren't fans, so none of the SW stuff holds any interest for us. DH and I saw the SW fireworks though back in January and absolutely loved them, even better than the Frozen fireworks which we though were fabulous. I'm a tad disappointed that they're changed now because the new show has more projections and looks like less actual fireworks. Deciding if we'll watch when we go in 13 days or skip them until Nov.

Even though GMR isn't your fave, have you heard it's closing next year? They haven't given a specific month but in case it's before you return in June, at least you got to ride it once more!

Thanks! I actually got it for our 2013 trip for a big family dinner at 'Ohana. It said tropical to me :)

Maybe that's why I haven't fallen for fried pickles. Minus the dipping sauce, the ones we had at DL's Carnation Cafe were similar and my response was about the same. I've only had them in spear form. I mean, I love pickles, so I should like them fried.

I have a handful of friends who aren't into Star Wars. Just never appealed to them. I think Kendall probably would be in that group if the rest of us didn't love it. I had heard the new show uses a lot of projections. Jealous that you'll be back in 13 days and again in November. My life will be consumed by work until Halloween, so I'll just have to live vicariously through everyone getting to go have fun.

Yes, I heard the buzz on GMR closing. I just hope whatever they do with the space is good. Isnt that always the concern.

Glad you got the meet in with Chewie and that you got in the picture as well! It was really cool to hear him talk and stuff - very interactive (at leas tour meet was)

I like the new Jakku scene but you really have to bend your logic now with the ride as it really does some time traveling between scenes

We did 50s Prime Time for the first time too! I liked it overall but my kids didn't really like the movies (thought they were too scary) so probably not something that is a high priority for the future, but was fun to do. We got the sampler too and I like the pickles and the onion rings (the wings were ok, but just covered in sauce)

Great ride photo form RNRC!

Well, good to get a ride in on the Great Movie Ride now with the rumors it is closing next year (rumor is a true E-ticket Mickey Mouse based attraction that goes through the history of Mickey movies. Supposed to be a trackless rider system which will be cool - but we shall see)

I know! Hearing him "talk" was beyond cool. I found myself starting to talk with him ... even though I really had no clue what he was saying.

Honestly, I could barely hear what they were saying while we were on Star Tours. I have never been stuck with such a loud group of people.

Maybe I just don't like fried pickles? I don't know. I mean, I love pickles and usually pay for extra if we go to a Jewish/Kosher deli, but maybe frying isn't for me.

That would be so fitting to have a Mickey attraction. I'm wondering if the system would be like Pooh's Hunny Hunt. Either way, they have plenty of content to work with for that concept and it would be great to see something fresh in that space.

No updates tonight. Tomorrow is Kendall's 10th birthday and I've been going nuts over her cake and other bday details (among other things). It is Disney themed (Maleficent dragon), so I figured I'd share...

Far from perfect, but 100% edible. If only I did have a million and one other things going on so I didn't have to squeeze caking into spare moments in the day.

Cool cake - love the idea of using the thorns around the base

Thanks! It's not my cleanest work, but she shifted from a James Bond Goldfinger cake to this with just a little over a week for prep time. I'm really happy I thought of the thorns because it also was a time and headache saver.

That cake is awesome!! My baking skills are.....well, I have none. A couple years ago I tried to make my oldest a basketball cake. I made it rectangular.
Who knew they make round cake pans? :o :rolleyes1

Thanks! I actually don't love the baking part, but it's a necessity since fondant and edible decorations are too heavy to put on a supermarket cake or even a box cake. I have to ask...did you bake a rectangular cake and cut it into a circle? or did you pipe a circular pattern on a rectangular cake? Just trying to picture it :D I'm sure it was fine. :) I once made a basketball themed cake...it's a big reason why I will only do cake for family from now on. Too much pressure! Turned out great, but I was in tears at several points during the decorating process. Although a soccer ball cake taught me a very valuable lesson...when you make a sphere made of cake, it rolls just like a real ball  I was driving with it to a party and it started rolling around in the passenger seat. :rotfl2:
