As many of you know, I teach fifth grade here in New Jersey. Well, today was an extremely scary day for me and reminded me how important friends are.
Just before my first period class, I noticed that my hands were shaking. I thought that maybe my sugar was low (don't have diabetes, but thought so anyway) and sucked on some hard candy. This didn't help.
Within about 15-20 minutes, I felt very odd. I was still shaking a bit and had the sweats on and off. I also become short of breath here and there. Luckily, a colleague and good friend of mine was able to take my kids so I could visit the nurse. She checked my blood pressure, temperature (three times lol), pulse, and heart rate. Everything was fine. She then told me about some veragular? reaction caused by a 24-hour stomach virus going around. She said that she thinks I have it and to see how I feel in the next few minutes.
I drank some plain soda and ate a few crackers. I felt much better and decided to push through the day. My friend checked on me constantly and really helped out with things I needed to get done. She was amazing. I've been a little weak and tired since this morning. The nurse said that this was part of the virus, but should pass.
What a scary day. Thank God my friend was there to rescue me. It was so odd to feel this way.
Just thought I'd share/vent.
