Any Tim Hortons near Disney? My husband tells me they are now in Michigan...so I'm hoping.

If not, are there any good donut/bagel/homemade sandwich/chilli/stew/coffee/hot chocolate places there?

I recall that when I drove down to Florida with a friend a decade ago, we didn't find any such places anywhere past Sarnia!

We drove down in the summer and the last Tim Horton's we saw was at the New Brunswick boarder. I bought a 12 pack of individual Tim Hortons coffee bags(I think it was around $5.00) as we were fortunately enough to have a coffee maker in the room. I have always found it hard to get a good cup of coffee in Orlando!Have a wonderful trip!

:( You will have to still for Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy kreme donuts (whick I here are amazin') both are located on the 192 Highway within driving distance to WDW.

There used to be a Tim's around Ft. Lauderdale. Don't know if it's still there.

the CM said she had some in her closet at home....
she joked that she was sure she could make ALOT of cash from all of the desperate Cdns at WDW!!!!

The last one we saw was in or around Dayton Ohio just off I 75 going south. I want to open one near or in the Orlando Airport hehehe.

I was talking to a man while waiting in line at a Tim Horton's the other day. He was from Boston and said they openned a nice fancy Tim Horton's there and it went bankrupt! Can you imagine that?

There's a Tim Horton's at Exit 197 just south of Toledo and another at Exit 29 just as you are entering the Cincinnati area going south. Since DH is addicted to TH's coffee, it's easy to persuade him to stop for a donut fix!! :D

Coming home from Kentucky last year we were so excited to cross the border and see in Windsor that familiar sign.....

Pure heavenly bliss...to be able to speak those words again..

I never knew that there were any Tim's in the States. Part of my visit in April is going to be dedicated to an investigative report comparing Krispy Kreme to Tim's doughnuts.....

There will be a report.

...eargerly awaiting the Krisy Kreme vs Tim Horton's report. From a National Pride standpoint, I hope TH will win hands down. But since I'm going to Orlando in May, part of me really wants KK to come a very close second so I can count on good coffee on my vacation!

What categories are you going to use to rate them?

We just got back from trip to California and tried our first Krispy Kreme donut. The "hot donut" sign was lit and we had fresh, hot, glazed donuts! Yum!!! I have to say that they were awesome. And when they found out we were tourists who had never had a KK donut, we got one for all four of us for free! I can't wait to try another one over the Easter break when we're in WDW; I once heard there was a KK in the DXL foodcourt. Being a Canuck though, nothing beats an old fashioned glazed! :D

This will be a VERY informal competition.... I will try to compare like types of doughnuts....

TH Chocolate Glaze vs. KK Chocolate Glase
TH Walnut Crunch (My Fav) vs. KK similar item...

I don't think i'll be able to make it to a KK outlet, therefore will be unable to try them fresh off the line....

I will be unable to provide a comparison of the coffees since (in my opinion) ALL coffee tastes like percolated dirt.... How can it smell so good and taste so bad?

Hard-hitting journalism... that's why i'm here.

My experience down south is that those people know their junk food. I'm confident that they can make a great donut!

Does anyone know, does KK also have bagels, soup, all that homemade TH food. It could be a nice alternative to the other stuff I'm sure I'll be living on down there...

We're talkin' doughnuts here.

Here are some stats I understand to be true:

Population of Canada: 30,000,000
# of Doughnut Shops: 10,000 (7,000 Tim's)
Average # of People / Shop: 3,000

Population of the U.S.: 220,000,000
# of Doughnut Shops: 17,000
Average # of People / Shop: 12,941

As the famous hockey poet/coach Jim Shoenfeld once stated so eloquently to referee Don Koharski..... "Eat another doughnut, you fat pig!"

Which is

"donut/bagel/homemade
sandwich/chilli/stew/coffee/hot chocolate places"

I want all that stuff, but mostly coffee.
