Ticketing Question

I have a question regarding ticketing for parks. I have always had the park hoppers tickets, so when my brother-in-law recently asked me if he could get just get plain park tickets (no park hopper option), and then leave a park and reenter that same park later in the day (through a stamp maybe?) I did not know what to tell him. I browsed allears, but didn't see anything. I figured I should come straight to the source of Disney expertise!

I am slightly embarassed that I do not know this.
