Tiaras???

Has anyone ever seen girls wearing tiaras on Formal Night? My twin DDs will turn 11 on Sunday (formal night on our 7 night Eastern) and I was thinking of buying them tiaras to wear to dinner that night.

Also, any ideas of where to buy them? I think that I saw them once a couple years ago at Claires in the mall (but I wouldn't swear to it).

Anyone every buy them? Where? How much?
Thanks!

I think it would be great for your DDs to wear tiaras. They generally have them in Claires and sometimes even at Target. You can also check bridal shops as they have small ones for flower girls, but those may cost you more.

Sounds like a great idea! Let them be *Princesses* princess: princess: for their special night!

Saw some at Wal-Mart in the wedding area by the artificial flowers... Claire's should have some too, as Homecoming season is right around the corner.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the ideas! We leave in 3 weeks, so I should go out in search this weekend for them. (Gee, can Moms wear them too princess:?).

Yup. I was at Claires the other day and saw them. We didn't have a formal night on our cruise, but DD8 insisted that on our Triton's night, she was going to get dressed up. I found a pretty silver gown on the Storybook Heirlooms website that was on clearance and it had a matching bag. We had to go to 3 different stores to find matching silver shoes and then of course the accessories. From Claires she bought a black and rhinestone necklace, matching bracelett and clips for her hair. If she had seen the tiara, I'm sure that would have been on her head.

Try this site. http://www.sammoon.com/index.asp

This is where I bought my DD. She loves it and wears it around the house constantly. We'll be taking it next week and I'm sure she will want to wear it every night!!princess: They also have lots of other great hair accessories!

I bought my daughter a beautiful crown/tiara. I bought it on ebay. Go to seller search and then type in tag1959.

I think tiara's would be an adorable gift and your daughters will feel so special! A friend of mine used to work at Claires and they almost always have tiara's in stock. Don't know about the price though.

I am checking at Claire's this weekend. I would 'guess' they would be the least expensive. My girls best friend is going on the cruise too, so I want to get her one as well. So I need 3 tiaras. I 'hope' I can get them for a good price.

I want to see if I can find one similar to Princess Mia's in the Princess Diaries (which we will see Princess Diaries II onboard).

Thanks for all of the suggestions. If Claires doesn't work out, I will check out some of the other places.

We just came back from Hollywood and attended the Tea with the Princesses that was sponsored by the El Capitan Theatre (we saw Princess Diaries first and then they escorted you to the tea). The tea was held in one of the Kodak theatre (academy awards venue) ballrooms and they had all the Disney Princesses there for photos....it was awesome...my girls 20 and 16 got right in the swing of things...even though they were the oldest "princesses" in the room they had a ball and we had to buy tiara's that were being sold there (Mia's tiara from the movie).

They had such fun wearing their Tiara's all around L.A. (got many compliments) and they also wore them at Disneyland the next day!!!

You are never too old to be a princess.

The disney stores sells tiara's but they are plastic and go with the different princess costumes. The Claire's ones are nicer.

How Cool!!!! Too bad we live in Indiana! My girls would love that! I'm surprised the Disney Catalog doesn't sell the Princess Mia tiara. There is money to be made there!

I am hoping to sneak off to Claires tonight to check them out.

BTW, I think it is so great that your DDs enjoyed this event so much. I hope my twins will always be my Disney Princesses!

The thing I am worried about is that we leave 3 weeks from today. I am afraid they won't arrive in time.

When you order from them, do they usually send them quickly?

I also saw an amazing collection of them at a costume shop just recently. Also check party stores, they are getting their Halloween stuff in. Plus, if you have an area with a large Hispanic population there may be shops that carry them for communions and Quincineras (sp?).

They can over-night items to you. I have ordered something on Monday and had it in my hands on Thursday. Give them a call.

If you have an AC Moore craft store in your area they have them there.
