So then it's OK to cancel the throwaway room?
You won't lose your FP's? Also, I'm assuming, you won't lose any ADRs you've made either. Is this correct?
ADRs are not dependent upon a room reservation.

FPs are based on linked tickets.

And as @Robo stated: Have a great trip! ;)

You enter the reservation number.

Cool, I didn't know that would work. Is there any advantage to linking this res (1 day) to an old MDE account (which has magic bands, but no tickets) over just linking this to our main MDE account (with another package and tickets)?
I'm guessing since I have no tickets on the old acct, there is no way to get Fast Passes other than SDFPs.

One thing I'm not quite getting....If i have a package booked and then book a throwaway room for several days before the package in an effort to book FP's earlier, will that work? Or will the package tickets not activate until exactly 60 days before the package date?

They will not activate until 60 days from the package check-in date.

Doc, Disney has changed that policy.

Onsite to onsite split stays open the booking window 60 days out from the first onsite stay even if the tickets are part of the package for the 2nd stay.

This went into effect last week.

Hmm...interesting. Do the two reservations have to intersect?

So is this the same if I link my friends package to my MDE? Will I be able to make FP for her at my 60 day mark (which is a 5 days before hers)?

Long thread which makes it tough to read at work. Quick question.

Could i do this? Book a campsite room for one night for X number of people. Get MBs for everyone. Then cancel the room and still use the MBs to get SDFPs?

Not sure about that one because her tickets are linked to her package that is directly linked to her MDE. The first onsite reservation isn't technically hers.

If you do find that your window is her window, please post because mesaboy is updating split stay info and different booking window configurations. TIA!!

That's been confirmed many pages ago. It appears many people take advantage of the 10 available MBs when booking a campsite.

Back to back, I believe. The multiple posters all had back to back reservations. Disney sent emails to notify them they could begin booking based on the 1st onsite check-in date.

Just make sure you are entering a 9 digit confirmation number. Also, make sure all people, children included, are listed in the S/D reservation, the way they are listed in your MDE.

I do have the 9-digit confirmations.

I called and asked them about this, they do not have a place to put the names of the guests. They really only care about the person who will be checking in (me). So when I link to MDE, how will MDE know who will be staying there? Is it possible I could link this to MDE, then add some more names to my MDE account, choose that I'm staying there with those new people, and therefore get extra Magic Bands?

In other words...
10 ppl on my MDE
2 Dolphin rooms (5 ppl each) being linked.
My name is on the Dolphin rooms. But, each can have 4 additional guests. Instead of making these our actual guests, make them 8 other people.

Essentially then it's me and 8 guests staying in the Dolphin (with no tickets, but convention tickets on our MDE), and then, me and 8 other guests staying in the Poly with a resort stay (I'm popular, I guess, with two sets of friends). 10 sets of tickets are on there, and assigned to the 2nd group of people. Will I get bands for all 18 or just the 10 ticketed people?

Per the few posts above, it seems the FP window would then open one day earlier for all 10 guests, because we happen to have our Dolphin stay linked for the earlier part of our trip, even tho 8 of the 10 would not technically be staying there (only I am, and I'm on both Dolphin rooms).

Thank you!

You won't receive any MagicBands for your Dolphin stay.

Okay I have attempted to read this entire post and still have a couple of questions. We have a package booked w/ tickets for 4 people linked on my MDE account. My DSS has a 1 day non expiring ticket linked to the same MDE account and is now now joining us for 1 nt/2 days as a day guest, and we need to upgrade his ticket to a 2 day. However, we have been told we can't upgrade his ticket to 2 day until we get there. Does this mean he can only get FP+ At 60 days out for 1 day at MK since his ticket is currently only 1 day? The rest of our group of 4 are on the package w/ 2 day park hoppers so we will get FP+ For both days but his ticket is a 1 day MK ticket and we are going to Epcot 1st day and MK 2nd day so how does this work? We are also getting MVMCP tickets for our first day, so will we link those to my MDE account and be able to book another day of FP+For this day? Can you book more FP+ days than you have tickets for, or only the same amount of FP+ as days of tickets/# of people on the room reservation?
Also, we are adding 1 nt rm only to the beginning of our trip and I was considering booking this on DH's MDE to get another set of MB's for SDFP, but my TA said she did not advise using multiple bands because it will cause major issues. What kind of issues?
Thanks!

J. What kind of issues?
Thanks!

A. Correct.
B. One day at any park, but Yes.
C. You can book 2 days worth of FP+ for any park, any order.
D. He can pre-book ONE day's worth of FP+ at any park, either day.
E. You will be able to pre-book 3 FP+ per day, total.
F. No.
G. Number of days worth of tickets = number of days worth of advance-booked FP+.
H. As long as that MDE is completely and totally separate from the first one we are discussing.
I. I'd ignore that.
J. None. Especially if these will be completely and totally separate from the first MDE we are discussing.
If your DH's MDE account is linked to yours... the MBs will not work for additional SDFP.
And, each of those "extra" MBs must be linked to a DIFFERENT (fictitious?) NAME than those names used on your original MDE account.
