I know! I spent $220 on Saturday and there are only two of us. We are REALLY trying to eat better and eating healthy isn't as cheap as eating poorly. I bought loads of fresh fruits and veggies and low fat meats and seafoods.....it all adds up!

How many are in your family? To be honest, I don't do all my shopping at once, so I couldn't tell you how much I spend. I KNOW it's not $500, but my 2 boys are little and not big eaters..just curious...

There are 4 of us and a dog. (the kids are DS9 and DD5)

We got 144 items. I got basically EVERYTHING. We had nothing in the house. I got chicken, steak, roast beef, ground beef, burgers, pork, milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits, veggies, soups, bread, fabric softener, etc -you name it - we got it. I even doubled up on some of the meats to store in my mom's extra freezer so I won't need to go and get more so soon.

I usually spend $400 but its for the month.......and maybe I go in between trips 1-2x and spend $20.

I am trying to get it even lower than that!!

Well, I feel better - I only spent $450 today (after $30 in coupons). We were down to NOTHING!

There are 6 of us and I spent $300 on Sunday - but I bought a laptop lunchbox and 3 sigg bottles that jacked up the price by about $75

oh, i go thru this every friday...

DH has been giving me $150/week forever, not taking into account the cost of food has gone up at least once in the past 10 years.....

i swear, sometimes i think DH believes Reagan is still in office and the price of groceries is the same as it was back in the 80s.....

every year or so i drag DH to the supermarket with me to get a reality check - last visit he froze like a deer in the headlights, at the register when the order was rung up!

yep - some men don't have a clue!

After I spent $250.00, came home,put it all away,DH and DS(17) spent about 5 minutes going thru the cabinets and exclaimed

"Where did you hide all the good stuff!"

Hubby looked at the bill and said
"not at our house anymore!"

I took the wife and kid with me Saturday and she complained that we spent $70.00 on groceries. That included a 15.00 toy.

Don't thrown anything, but I did my bi-monthly shopping on Saturday and got enough for 4 people for 2 weeks and it cost $57.xx. We shop Aldi, though.
