Their net profits are like 10% vs GOOGLE and YAHOO which are around 30%. Their just selling more gas so they are making more profit but at the same profit margin as when gas prices were lower. We need to slap Pelosi and Reed around and get em' off their butts and do something for a change besides blame Bush for all their mistakes. Want to tax excess profits then start with GOOGLE!!!

Yeah, the blame George Bush for everything. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Does this really surprise anyone? I know that it is the rate of return that really counts, but $12BILLION for a quarter? That's obscene.

considering that the private guys make up 15% of the world's business, and exxonmobil is 3% of the "pot" if you will, imagine what the other guys are making.

Truth. She better watch herself...snipers are real & they are good shots.

The article I read on Exxon/Mobil estimates they make $90,000.00 per minute profit.

I've said it before & I'll say it again. It's time each voting American votes in new blood and votes out the incumbants. Why do you think obscene profits are allowed while bankruptcy filings are escalating? All the politicians scratch each others backs!!!

As far as President goes, close your eyes and pick one - it doesn't matter cause they are both morally deficient. All other offices, study the candidates carefully, and GET RID OF THE INCUMBANTS!!

2nd quarter US economy was up 1.9 percent, due to stimulus checks maybe.

You are partially correct on that one. The first part of July, my DH's sales results at H. H. Gregg were great! No more checks issued = no more sales. :headache:

I can't believe the whining about their stock values when the rest of the market is going in the toilet.

Hmmmm - I wonder what insurance company profits are like?

I know that State Farm wants them to be better than they are now, they just asked for a 47% rate hike for homeowners policies for this coming year. They just got a 51% hike two years ago.
