Really? I mean I guess I knew that smoothies might cost extra(never had one onboard) but Ice Cream? Where does that cost extra???? I am sad to hear that!

Don't forget pictures, My first cruise I went way overboard. It was so nice to have all those family portraits, I had a hard time walking away from any of them, I think I spent $300 just on pics.

Free
Room Service (except those marked as costing $$ such as soda, packaged snacks)
Favorites: All Hands On Deck (fruit & cheese platter), cookies & milk (Big Kahona cookie is a big choc chip cookie, the oatmeal cookie is reg size)

Smoothies and some ice cream on the pool deck (can't remember the name of the venue, but DW got a smoothie that cost her ~$5
Can anyone elaborate on this for me? Where do you pay for ice cream? We are big ice cream fans and need to know where we might be charged for that. I understand smoothies would cost extra

How to spend more money on your cruise:

36. Sports simulator
What is the sports simulator?

Free
Room Service (except those marked as costing $$ such as soda, packaged snacks)
Added room service to free, thanks!

Room service delivery is free, a cash tip is expected by the CM making the delivery.
The sports simulator is a box on deck that you use in 30 minute increments to play golf, soccer, etc like a video game.

To Clarify...smoothies from Frozone you have to pay for. The self serve ice cream cones at Eye Scream are free.

Also $$$
Arcade (not sure if you'd use this one!)

Also free...
Goofy golf and the Goofy sports deck (basketball court)
Midship Detective Agency
All movies in the theatre and on deck

Usually about $1 an item, up to $5 for a full meal.
Years ago it used to be popular here to bring $2 bills for tipping. Banks haven't carried $2 bills here for years, so wasn't an option for me, but not a bad idea. The few times I have had a $2 bill and tried to spend it, some merchants claimed they weren't real!

Yeah, I've read that many non-US banks will not accept $2 dollar bills. Same with the dollar coins. We just use 1s and 5s. Don't want to cause issues for the CMs if they send the money directly back home.

how much do you tip?
True, but we usually tip room service (and the bag porters at the port) in cash so I didn't list that since I was thinking of ways to use the onboard credit.

But just out of curiousity.....could you put the room service tip on your room charge?

Back to the original question - OBC can't be used for some of the items on the list such as tips for porters.
