There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!~ a Magical May trip report! *Updated 7/11 X2 Pg 9*

Yay! Another update! Reading your TR is getting me so pumped for our trip! We are under 60 days and things are getting real!!!

Joining in & loving your TR! "Operation Snow Goose" absolutely made my day.:) I'm super jealous of your stay at AoA--it's definitely on my bucket list to stay there. Can't wait to read about the rest of your magical trip!

I have returned after a lengthy absence, and boy oh boy have I missed you all so much.
You and me both!

I avoided the Disboards partly since I was so busy between school, work, babysitting, traveling to see James, all the busy every day stuff, but also because I was sad I didn't have a trip in the near future.
This is what happened to me, the sadness of not having a disney trip is too much to bare! Hopefully, our next one will be May 2018, when I graduate.

DO NOT STAND UP ON A MOVING RIDE AND GET ME KICKED OUT OF DISNEY, BOY!
Hahahaha. :rotfl:
Since I didn’t take notes
I did take notes, and then I traded in my phone without backing up my notes. New tip: take notes, SAVE THE NOTES!

Excited to hear about BoG for dinner! I don't know if we'll ever try it, mostly because we're so satisfied with lunch.

Yay, you're back! Although I totally get life getting in the way and all that.

DO NOT STAND UP ON A MOVING RIDE AND GET ME KICKED OUT OF DISNEY, BOY!

I must say, he got me good though..I jumped pretty high out of my seat!

:scared1::scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I adore the look on James’ face...it’s pure joy! He looks like such a child!

That is really adorable. He's certainly embracing the experience

We slipped in and I was instantly shocked to see it was a theater. I just assumed it was a carousel like with horses! Haha Disney fan failure.

:laughing::laughing::laughing: Don't mean to laugh at you but just can't help myself. It's easy to understand your mistake though from the attraction name

We got some Castle pics on the way!

But of course. Yay for Castle pics!

Thank you, thank you!! and thank you most for sticking around and not giving up on my TR!!!!

Yay! Another update! Reading your TR is getting me so pumped for our trip! We are under 60 days and things are getting real!!!
Woooo!! So epically (which apparently is not a word) close to your trip!!!! It's about time right!!

Welcome Back! Can't wait to hear more!

Woohoo! Thank you! Update SOON I promise!

Joining in & loving your TR! "Operation Snow Goose" absolutely made my day.:) I'm super jealous of your stay at AoA--it's definitely on my bucket list to stay there. Can't wait to read about the rest of your magical trip!

Aww I'm so glad!! A fellow Once Upon a Time fan I take it? I'll admit James and I got 3 episodes into season 5 once it was finally released on Netflix and haven't watched it since but very soon I plan to restart the whole series and watch straight through!

I'm late but I'm here!
Being late is always in style here! I'm the latest one of all...this TR will be a year old before I'm even halfway through the trip!! Haha but welcome aboard friend!

This is what happened to me, the sadness of not having a disney trip is too much to bare! Hopefully, our next one will be May 2018, when I graduate.
Routing for a May 2018 trip for you then!! I hope gradschool's going well!

I did take notes, and then I traded in my phone without backing up my notes. New tip: take notes, SAVE THE NOTES!
Very important lesson indeed!

Yay, you're back! Although I totally get life getting in the way and all that.
and I'm so glad to be back!! I'll be catching up on your report shortly!!

:laughing::laughing::laughing: Don't mean to laugh at you but just can't help myself. It's easy to understand your mistake though from the attraction name
I laugh at myself often for this mistake :rotfl2:

Oh, absolutely! My mom and I are pretty obsessed. :) What a great idea! If I ever get any free time, I just might go back to the beginning myself. ;)

Day 03
“Magical Moment!!!”

Magic Kingdom Day One/ Part V

Be...Our...Guest….
Be Our Guest,
Put our service to the test!

It was finally time to eat in Beast’s castle. This is the meal I’ve been looking forward to for almost a year!! About 2 months before our trip I casually mentioned to James that Be Our Guest wasn’t a real castle. The castle top was really small in fact...the restaurant is designed like a castle but from what I’ve seen it sort of looks like you eat inside a boulder.

Yes, this is what I told my boyfriend who’s never been to Disney and is so macho about EVERYTHING.
But boy oh boy, he was NOT having it!
“What do you mean it’s not a real castle?!”
“Well James’ it’s a restaurant meant to look like a castle…”
“So wait...it IS a castle?”
“Um no what I meant is…”
“IT’S NOT A REAL CASTLE!?!?!?!”
Jeesh I tell ya, he was not impressed. It was hilarious. When I told him that Cinderella’s Castle is real and has a restaurant in it he was in shock that I would book a reservation at BOG and not CRT. I mean one was real and one was fake right?
Haha okay so he got carried away. Turns out that Be Our Guest was the best experience we had all trip. I adored it. James thought it was pretty awesome too ;)
So let me start at the beginning.
M-Msa1B9GBmpSIZOWaOsbjA93bULY8035x70SogqJNluRh_phJSxsR8N55ZI3H9S9Y-WUTPL0GPimSvXGXZ2Q2sL4Wo71tEsz7XZJoXFEm3jpDR12r_L7QDXhNFlpfEKIuTzIGt-

My last update ended with a quick change into my special Beauty and the Beast skirt at the Belle’s village bathroom near the Gaston meet and greet.
Ta-da!
mVhSVOZMLesyUjNKFYRKRUiByluesBdCAJvUoDptVpQu8gqszBtg4Zyy8XC8H14AEdSa2RYakkWVKbvaB1J-4Gq1Rt5KwLIkfbZZwRR0fF1xCHucgTtzD90cgHE-_4AZbMNoSc33

Next up was check-in. We were early (maybe a half hour?) but I had a seating request to put in and we we’re pretty tired and didn’t have anything else on our agenda planned.
When we arrived we got into a short line to check in. The check-in area is on one side of a bridge, the restaurant on the other. I remember the girls being really friendly (though it was over 8 months ago so I honestly couldn’t tell you details!) and I requested the West Wing. Our check-in hostess was super nice about it and told us it’d be a little bit longer but that wouldn’t be a problem.
We were told we would receive a text once our table was ready. Since I had given the girl my number we worried a bit that I wouldn’t get the message since my phone was horrible like that, but we didn’t worry enough to wait in line again to switch phone numbers.
We sat on the stone wall for a bit by check-in and people watched. Always a fun time!

We decided after about 10 minutes to go check out the bridge where James made a friend.

So sweet!
This area was delightful. I loved hanging out here.
Below was this cute little waterfall:

James caught me admiring the view:

Check out my cute lil froggy hand sanitizer! James actually picked it out with me during the winter when we were at the mall (Bath and Body Works for the win!)
I tried to steal James’s friend but he wasn’t having it…

Sadly we will not be actually eating inside that human-sized “castle”...

A fun view of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train:

I got the text shortly after...yay!!...and we bring it to the gate at the end of the bridge.

Then like the VIP we are we get to enter through the gate and wait for our royal escort to our table. There was maybe 2 other families in this area, one got called right after we got there and the other less than 5 minutes later.

Awaiting our turn:

Next a pic to show the royal gate with the peasant outsiders begging on the bridge:

((If that is your family on the bridge who I just called peasants, outsiders, and beggers…. 1. Oops 2. Sorryish 3. AWKWARD))
Also that castmember was fantastic (I don’t remember how or what she did but I think she called me Princess? No?)
THEN IT WAS OUR TURN!!!
We were greeted, taken inside and hit by AC and overwhelming happiness.

Pictures do not do this place justice. I mean this place is beautiful.
Our hostess with the mostess pointed out the bathrooms then where we would be meeting Beast and explained that once we went in to greet him we would have to exit afterwards. Of course I knew all this (thank you DIS) and we made our way over to the West Wing.
This room ROCKED! I mean it was PERFECT for a mysterious (and surprisingly romantic) dining room.
cRHB9xdhPY47eQs5lfmhmHOJ1iOBksXBynR55TO0xpBKCgeL_bD5iwa6kxXAnASV2IoMTimJsF6voYmlbUX8xPeigAD8Kc5huNOZBcI07hyBRffMElGDVGV1qk9YKVnyagJ2uLET

The napkins were folded into roses, how totally perfect, and we had an awesome table.
Our waiter came over and took our drink orders. I asked for some kind of fruit punch which I can’t find on the menu now, but after looking up an old Disney Food Blog review I found it:
“All-Natural Fruit Punch with Organic Cane Juice and Wildberry Extract topped with lemon-lime foam”
I asked for the souvenir goblet cup but they were out. I’m glad they were...because it lead to something MAGICAL at the end of our meal!
Then it was time to look at the menu:

(Or take pictures of it...ya know since we both knew when we booked over 180 days ago what we wanted)
Or did we?
This was tricky for me. James was getting the steak. Up until April 2nd (exactly a month and a day before Be Our Guest) I was getting the steak too... James and I had went out to dinner at a Texas Roadhouse with a couple friends and I got EXTREMELY sick that night. I had never had food poisoning before but man I wouldn’t wish it on ANYONE! Except maybe a Disney villain or two ;)
Hate to bore you all with the sad, sorry, disturbing details but let’s just say it was pouring out of both ends for HOURS. Meanwhile James who gets so grossed out by throw up (clearly has never had to take care of a baby before) stayed outside the bathroom but he made up for it by going to the store and buying me adult diapers.
……

If you’re still reading at this point, I thank you kindly.
This steak would have been my first one since the Great Texas Roadhouse Food Poisoning Incident.

(continued in following post...)

When the waiter came to take our order I asked for his preference (leaving out the Great Texas Roadhouse Food Poisoning Incident of course…) between the steak and the shrimp and scallops served in a puff pastry,
He said that although they’re both good, the steak is WAY better and basically what they’re known for. Hmmm okay sold, steak it will be! I also ordered myself the French Onion Soup which I was sooo excited to try.

In that last picture you can see the portrait of the Beast. It actually changed between his human and Beastly form! It was awesome. Occasionally there was thunder (not crazy stuff like Rainforest Cafe) and the picture would change and the petals would drop off the Enchanted Rose which I got a picture of after dinner!
NwF-_L0USxy8V52S0nFa76fkuKHBlofOimCDjpbCxUvgNewDzbLgOKZzzep1J6Jlo-BYrLi8n6Jk_lRAR4kRZ1hLe3cTyFGJpo4jSDA_dXcLkTz3WrseESWMEBLIuGvSJ1K113cp

I forget if it was before or after we ordered, but we got some delicious rolls.
fucnMNj0fJusgpGJad3XmMxgN1t_geCkq9sTVGx29vBP2arB08HK-DzQKXZf1c9NpAayogdShFCtNaJORybcNa07haPjlVNAXasYY9oM6Lvn37spI2DFF2YFgys7S_nglYwrhVDS

They were warm and soft on the inside but crusty outside! Some good quality bread!
A shot of our drinks by candlelight:

I honestly think the candle was fake...like 99.9% sure but it’s been so long so…
Then my soup arrived!

It was sooo good. But I didn’t get to finish it because here comes the steak! (plus it was super hot!)

Dinner was amazing. The steak was SO GOOD! I usually get medium rare but I was too scared to say rare after the Great Texas Roadhouse Food Poisoning Incident so I ordered it medium. It was perfect!!!
The french fries and veggies were fantastic as well.
It looks like the Beast was still ruining all his decor..

Blurry Beast
The Beast comes in, everyone claps (he is the master of the castle after all) then it’s back to eating.
After dinner, it was dessert time!
APbShi1v1av7cpoau1-XhSq0B4LiAdp2xY6MuSG1jmz6kek2UPFOd_fvnEjmN-5i31ImlfXrKOlY9h87hfRtv3jnL01A7f6kxesSEh2ECwykefoN9lHML6S8WAKgcrZ9KcT4lueD

Everything on the dessert cart looked fabulous, but of course I wanted to try the Grey Stuff!
James and I split this bad boy:

It was so good. The cookie part was a bit hard to break off onto your spoon (James didn’t think so...maybe I’m just that weak!) but the cookies and cream whipped topping was amazing. I could’ve eaten a whole bowl of it. It’s nice and light as far as desserts go.
It took our whole meal but I eventually got a pic of the portrait of Beast changing:

After while we waited for our waiter to run the card I got up to check out the Enchanted Rose.

It truly was enchanting as the petals really fall.

Even the enchanted mirror is there!
On our way out, I snapped a picture of our waiter:

Nice outfit bro!
Seriously, I think it’s awesome.
Then a last picture of the West Wing:

We loved this room and it was by far our favorite for a romantic dinner.
I found Lumiere!

We got a couple pictures of the Ballroom, which I love too and would love to have lunch in someday!

We then took a peek in the Rose Gallery:

We didn’t know it yet, but we’d be eating here later in the week for lunch!
Next we were to meet the Beast. I was worried that we were going to miss our 7 Dwarfs Mine Train FP since our FP was for I think 7:55-8:55 and it was already past 8:30. Luckily, the Beast showed up not long after that.

The Cast members loved my skirt and they made sure Beast saw it and he was super excited too which I thought was adorable!
As we headed out, there was a case of Be Our Guest souvenir cups (not the goblet but a really cute cup with a lid and the sweetest picture on it!) Since I didn’t get my goblet cup, I decided to get one of these. I asked a cast member if I could purchase one and she was momentarily confused because we had already eaten, but she lead us to the desk, talked to another cast member, and turned around with a cup. I had my money out and she hands it to me saying, “Magical moment!” I smile, say thank you, and ask, “How much do I owe you?”
She kind of laughs and says, “No charge. It’s a magical moment.”
OH MY GOODNESS I WAS ALMOST IN TEARS! HOW SWEET IS THIS GIRL?!?! I thank her profusively, squeal to James, and continue smiling ear to ear about it for the rest of the night.
I also kept repeating “Magical moment!!!”
That is Disney magic. That is what keeps us coming back trip after trip. My first trip I had my magical meeting with Snow White. My second trip was full of this magic but what stands out is we had a crazy fun bus driver who basically told our fortunes and was SOO silly. He was great, and strangely spot-on with his fortunes. The trip before this the magical moment was when I gave a boy money to finish his order and the cast member got me a free cupcake. My Be Our Guest cup is my favorite of all though!
I use it all the time (I had my coffee in it this morning). Let me find a picture online…
C-ofXk-k1m24Qu5VDpOA6ZVUN335YyjgkYS-8adzBuuupk4TOBGonMDQjShLgAsrdhGrtNaneO4YDOEwBRP7vCLmt2wGmaJZFrDLg3chPRKEK9HPS351UfxE2-wmxee4IqFsJ4k7

Okay so that picture is actually from someone on the Dis, it’s the only one google could find.

This cup is seriously underrated. Also, if you’re reading this and that’s your hand and your cup I’m sorry for stealing your picture!! Google did it first though!
What a dinner guys! If you haven’t tried Be Our Guest, I HIGHLY recommend it.

A+ from both James and I!!!
If you have tried it, and it wasn’t for you (or maybe just a bad experience?) I won’t judge because the following night we had dinner at Ohana and it was just so not good. Which I’m majorly bummed about because I read so many raving reviews and although our server was awesome it just wasn’t good!! But that’s for a different update.
Next up...a night of Magic Kingdom fun and another magical surprise!

What a nice dinner you had. I haven't had a change to eat there yet but and looking forward to it one day. I'll be heading there in two weeks but couldn't get a reservation for the times we needed.

Call it "magical moment" or "pixie dust" but those are the little things that keep us going back for more.

Great update!

Be our Guest dinner was by far one our favorite experiences of the trip!! It is on our "must do" list next time we go back!

So glad you had such a magical evening!

Well, I'm following your TR now! You've had quite the adventure! I'm glad you had a magical moment. Disney is all about the little things. :) We got several birthday desserts (and a resort upgrade) the last time we went. Everything that you don't expect is truly magical.

You mentioned having the Disney blues, and I totally relate to that. I realized that I spend SO MUCH TIME planning my trips that when the planning aspect of my life is gone, I fall apart. In October of this last year, my mom looked at me and said 'If coming home from Disney makes you this sad, I just don't think you should go anymore.'

Needless to say, I was not impressed. (Whoever thinks they can stand between me and Disney has another thing coming.)

All the pictures of you and James are ADORABLE. And BOG is super charming. I love it, though I can't say I'll ever eat there for dinner. I feel like there are just SO many places to choose from, it's easier to eat lunch there and snag a different reservation for dinner.

I'm so happy you're going back soon! I'm sure you're super excited! :)

Love magical moments!
Oh I know right :lovestruc
What a nice dinner you had. I haven't had a change to eat there yet but and looking forward to it one day. I'll be heading there in two weeks but couldn't get a reservation for the times we needed.

Call it "magical moment" or "pixie dust" but those are the little things that keep us going back for more.

Great update!
I hope you have an amazing trip!! 2 weeks, that's SOOOO exciting!! I'm sure it'll be filled with pixie dust filled magical moments!

Welcome along! Thanks so much for reading!!

Surprise birthday desserts and a resort upgrade!? That's AMAZING!!!!

Your mom's comment cracks me up! Not going would be even worse than the post-Disney blues!!

I'll be on the dining plan for the first time for my upcoming trip, and I can't think of a better way to use a counter service credit than at BOG for lunch! So I totally see where you're coming from. Such a great value for a counter service meal :thumbsup2

I'm joining in! Better late than never, I guess! I've caught up though, and it seems like an awesome trip so far. I took my boyfriend for his first trip in 2013, and it was soooo much fun seeing Disney through his eyes.

Be Our Guest is by far my favorite Disney meal ever! Seems like y'all had a wonderful dinner!!
