The alarm went off at the uncivil time of 3:30 am. Jason and I got up and stumbled our way to the coffee maker and coffee in hand we got dressed, loaded the car, and double checked we had everything. We left around 4:15 which was actually 15 minutes sooner then I thought! As we made our way to the freeway entrance we see signs saying that the ramp is closed
uh oh. Construction. We make our way to the next entrance. Its close as well. WTH?! So we make our way down to the 3rd entrance which we KNOW is past the construction and finally get on the highway. Little did we know that construction would plague us the entire way down.
We hit a few more construction spots but mom couldnt tell you about that since she was sleeping. Around 6 or so the sun started coming up and I snapped a quick picture of Jason driving.
We ate some breakfast and filled up the car at Panoche. I have to say that McDonalds actually has some good coffee! Granted, I put two creams and two sugars in it
but still. It was good for a fast food place.
Around 8:15 or so we started getting close to the grapevine. To entertain myself I took a few pictures while in the car.
My hidden Mickeys
Im almost done knitting my first pair of socks!
Finally we can see the pipes!
Yay we are excited!!
We hit some traffic coming into LA (shocker I know!) and saw the sign for our exit around 10:45.
Our home away from home
This trip we werent too happy with the Camelot. All of the hotels down there are now charging $9 a day for parking. However, their day starts at 4pm so we had to pay an additional $4.50 for the afternoon we arrived. I know it doesnt seem like much but its irritating. Considering the other issues we had with the Camelot this trip I dont think well be staying there again. Ill get into the other problems later. For now, lets stick with the exciting upcoming event, Jason and I getting season passes!!!
We parked the car, changed our clothes, and headed over to get our tickets. My mom was not convinced at this point that she wanted to get a pass so it was just Jason and I headed to the ticket windows. About 15 minutes later we were officially season passholders again!!! Needless to say we were (and are) super excited about it!!
My mom took our picture by the Disneyland sign they have in the esplanade. You can kind of see that we are holding our passes up. It's very neat because now your season pass is also your photopass so it's all together and you can keep the same number for multiple trips. It's part of Disney's effort to "go green" apparently. I think it's super convenient.
Then we headed into the park for the first time in a year!!! What would we do and see first? Youll have to wait until my next post to find out.
