Our alarm went off at 6:50am. Today was the day...WE WERE GOING TO DISNEY!!! :cheer2:pixiedust::cheer2:

I jumped in the shower and then made myself beautiful all whilst Karl was still asleep, (how could he still be sleeping we are going to Disney) :hyper:
We were aiming to be at the airport for around 10:00am as our flight was at 11:45am.

We left the house to a downpour (glad to be leaving that!) and got on the airport flyer which leaves from the bottom of our road and takes us straight to the airport! I must add, for the entire journey to the airport, I was panicking. No, not about the 9 hour flight ahead of me...instead about someone's suitcase which was rolling around on the shelf on the bus which i SWEAR was going to fall on my head...!!! (It didn't).

We arrived at the airport and went to our 'priority Check-In' :snooty:
As some of you may know from reading on the Dis, Karl surprised me a few weeks ago by upgrading us to 'premier' seating on our flights there and back. We checked straight in, got fast tracked through security checks (whoop!) and we were soon eating breakfast in the bar: sausages sandwiches and a lemonade.

I called the parents to let them know we were off and before we knew it we were being called through our gate and boarding. The premier seats were SO comfortable. They were REALLY roomy and we had little TV's on the back of the seats in front to watch while we drank our pre-flight sparkling wine

To say it was a 9 hour 20 minute flight, it did start off feeling very quick! We had a lovely lunch a few hours in which consisted of chicken in a creamy sauce with veggies, a pasta salad, crème brulee desert and cheese and biscuits all washed down with a nice glass of vino :thumbsup2 I have to say it was the best plane meal I have ever eaten!

<a href="http://s1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/?action=view&current=SDC15926_zps820e9415.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/SDC15926_zps820e9415.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So there I was, sitting in my comfy seat watching Brave when we got afternoon tea delivered. How wonderful was that...or so I thought! I had one bite of the chicken and mayo sandwich when the seatbelt light came on...uh oh!!! TURBULENCE!!!! Oh dear, it was not nice!! It doesn't usually bother me but I was starting to feel a little travel sick anyway and the added food and turbulence was NOT helping! For the first time ever on a plane, I had to get the sick bag out :crazy2: Luckily, I didn't have to use it but boy did I feel rough!!!!

After this little episode I just wanted to be there! I kept watching the 'where are we' screen and watching each minute go down. I felt so relieved when I started to feel that we were descending.

They decided to switch off the in-flight entertainment (they stopped Brave before I got to see the end!) and instead showed the 'Highlights of Disney' programme/film thingy. I got VERY excited at this and so did Karl. He kept covering his eyes though as it showed snippets of the rides and Karl didn't want it to ruin it for him. He has a thing about not knowing anything about rides before he goes on them.

Unfortunately, I was too excited to remember what time we landed (I think it was about 16:15) but I remember we were straight through immigration and bag collection VERY quickly (thanks to our priority baggage tags). We had hired a car from Alamo as part of our package and Karl went off to collect the little beauty while I stood in the heat!! Boy was it HOT!!!!! Karl came back out with the keys and we picked our car and we were off!

<a href="http://s1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/?action=view&current=DSCF3728_zpsa92fb235.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/DSCF3728_zpsa92fb235.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So, when we picked up the car, they gave us a map which had written directions to the hotel. As I don't drive, I was Chief map reader for the journey. Ok, so before I carry on, I DID follow it as it said but somehow, we had taken a wrong turning somewhere and we ended up WAY off course! :confused3 Luckily, Karl had downloaded a TomTom with USA maps on to his phone so we programmed the hotel into it and we were on our way!

Karl picked up driving an automatic pretty quickly and didn't seem nervous at all. I was so pleased about that AND that we had the TomTom, who knows where we might have ended up otherwise!!!

We arrived at our hotel and we were both very sleepy but we knew we had to try and stay awake so we wouldn't be all out of it with the time difference so once we had checked in and dumped the cases at the room, we decided to go and grab a quick snack. We had a nose around the hotel on the way to the hotel bar and what a nice hotel it was! There was 3 pools, a 24 hour 'lite bite' store, a sports bar, a restaurant and also a shop that sold Starbucks (yum). I knew we would be happy here for 2 weeks!

<a href="http://s1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/?action=view&current=DSCF3729_zpse9b70487.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/DSCF3729_zpse9b70487.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/?action=view&current=DSCF3730_zps123c0f30.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u369/KittyKitty87/DSCF3730_zps123c0f30.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We had chicken tenders with fries in the sports bar (they were AMAZING) and then karaoke started! Now, I am one who LOVES karaoke but after a 9 hour flight and lack of sleep, I was not in the mood and neither was Karl so we grabbed some water from the shop and went back to our room.

Our room was lovely (silly me forgot to take piccies) and once we had unpacked we got in to bed, watched Family Guy and fell asleep safe in the knowledge that we were in Florida and our adventure started tomorrow...!

Next: Our first park: Epcot
