The Summer of Disney - Two trips in two months! June & July, 2010

Oh, awesome! You take amazing pictures, girl. Sunshine Seasons had that same LONG LINE going around when we were eating lunch there -- like everyone at that moment decided to ride The Land!! It's just funny to me how things like that go in waves -- rides that you would normally almost walk on sometimes have LONG lines when you catch them at the wrong moment!

Hope you have (had) a great time on your 2nd trip!!

Wow lots posted in the last few days.

Loved the empty Mk pictures. We still haven't gotten a chance to do this. Sorry about your DH's card.

Innoventions looked like it was the place to be on a rainy day. The picture of your DH with the frog is too cute.

Great pictures in DTD. WPE is my favorite CS. Your food looks great.

I like the idea of combining your trip reports.

Have a great time in the world again.

I'm back! We got in relatively late last night, and are working on getting settled back in at home. We had a great trip, but I will say that a studio is a tight fit for four adults! :rotfl: I'm going to try to get the next installment of the June trip up tonight, but it'll definitely be up by the end of the week... and I'll be doing at least one update a day for the next two weeks until I go back to work. I'll be back soon! :)

Welcome back Michelle! I hope you had a great trip and I can't wait for you to share it with us.

Chapter 8: A Hollywood Morning... and a DISmeet!

We woke up extra early on our 3rd day at Disney, because we were headed here:

Since I wasn't able to ride most of my faves in this park, it was especially important that we be at the front of the Toy Story dash. I'm not exactly sure what time we got to the park, but we were first at the turnstile, and then first at the rope.
P6080211.jpg

One of the CMs from Tower of Terror had us come under the rope for picture:
P6080213.jpg

then he gave our camera to the people who were right behind us at the rope, and had them take a picture:

We waited a few more minutes (after being returned to the correct side of the rope, of course), and soon it was time for the opening show.

The rope dropped, and the Toy Story dash began. I was 1st or 2nd at the FP machine...

AND we were quick enough getting from there to the regular line that we could still see the CMs who were walking in front of the crowd in the standby line... and a completely empty queue!

Our first round of TSM for the day ended like this:

As we left TSM, DH needed to stop for a photo...

We had some time to kill before our FPs and our DISmeet, so we decided to wander around the park for a bit.

(We were a few days early for Star Wars Weekend, but the props were out, and DH had to pose with several of them, LOL)

The muppet fountain with NO people!

We apparently waited to see Tigger & Eeyore...

It must have been about this time that I got a text from wigd, saying that they'd arrived at the park (after returning from their cruise and checking in at BCV), and we decided to meet at Starring Rolls for a quick breakfast. I don't seem to have pictures of the food or our DIS friends, though.

As a group, we decided to head over here:

I'm not sure what DH & Baylor were doing when I snapped this picture, other than waiting around...
P6080227.jpg

We headed inside, and Baylor insisted that we take pictures with Lotso... so into the line we went. DH & I suspected that Lotso wasn't as nice as he seemed (based on some Legos we'd seen the night before), but since the movie wasn't out yet, no one knew just how right we were!

Disney did a good job with setting up the queue to feel like you're actually in the day care center:

After we met Lotso, we headed to the animation class, where we learned to draw this guy:

(DH's attempt)

Drawings complete, we headed over to

where we asked to make sure we were in the right part of the line for the cowboy scene, since DH & I had never gotten anything but the gangster before.

A few pictures...

After the Great Movie Ride, we decided to go our separate ways for the day. DH & I decided we were hungry, but where would we eat???

Up next: A Hollywood afternoon!

Nice fountain shot! It's always a treat when you can get no people in a picture. :thumbsup2

Brooklynn was not a bit interested in seeing Lotso when we went. That's a good group picture of you guys.

Geez, I wish I knew why PhotoBucket keeps refusing to rotate my photos! I guess I just need to rotate them before I upload from now on.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten another update in, we've been busy trying to get the nursery in order before we go back to work next week. I'm sort of looking forward to the new school year, and sort of dreading it, LOL. I have my next doctor's appointment next Wednesday afternoon, and we should schedule our "big" ultrasound at that time... so in 2-3 weeks, we should know whether Smudge is a boy or a girl! :) I will of course be sharing that info with all of my wonderful DIS friends... even if I'm not telling my parents or my in-laws! :rotfl:

I'll try to get the next update (or two or three) up tomorrow morning before working in Smudge's closet, returning something to Babies R Us, and running to our local city hall to pay a fee for having a monitored alarm system in the house.

It is so exciting to be getting the nursery in order! I love looking on the babiesrus site and planning a nursery even tho we are still just trying for a baby! Any preference either way, boy girl? Or just healthy? Either way, Smudge will be perfect :goodvibes

Well, of course the most important thing is a healthy baby! But, I'd (secretly) prefer a girl this time around, mostly because there are NO girls on DH's side of the family and I KNOW DH's parents will spoil a little girl rotten! :rotfl: DH claims to not have a preference... he said today at lunch that he thinks a girl would be easier for the younger years, but a boy would be easier as a teenager! I really want one of each, though, so as long as Smudge is healthy, I'll be thrilled... and next time around I'll have a REAL preference, LOL.

haha! Same here. I really want a girl since there are no girl grand kids on either side of my family. I already have 2 nephews and know that the truck and frog clothing just isnt as cute as the pink dresses :lmao:

Sorry everyone, I just haven't been good about updating this TR lately. I've spent the past few days trying to finish up things around the house (STILL need to work on the closet in Smudge's room, though) and getting ready to go back to work. Our first teacher day is Tuesday, and the kids come back a week from tomorrow... and I have a TON of stuff to do. I'll try to get another update done tomorrow at some point, so I don't fall so far behind I give up. I promise I'll be back eventually!!! ;)

Good luck with all the little details! This is a busy time of year for everyone it seems! :goodvibes

Babies, babies, babies are everywhere. I went to a shower on Saturday. When I went to Babies R Us I walked in with a set limit that I was going to spend but walked out having spent much more. They have such neat stuff! And I was buying for girl.

Loved the DHS update. The group picture with Lotso is great, too bad he's a meanie.

Great jobs drawing Dopey!! I wonder how many characters they do?

Hope you're doing well...can't wait for the next update!

Hi you all! Hugs all around!
I am catching up on the report as surgery and school has set me back!
I hope you will take some nursery pics and post them, can't wait to see what you are doing in there!
I hope you are feeling well Michelle!
Miss you guys!
Give Smudge a pat from us!

Oh and I'm loving the photo of the people-less Muppet fountain!

Hi guys! I'm sorry I'm falling so far behind, going back to work has been much more exhausting than I ever could have imagined! I'm going to try to get some updates up this weekend - including the painted nursery, complete with furniture!

I'll need something to keep me busy all weekend... we have a sonogram scheduled with a high-risk OB on Monday because my bloodwork shows that Smudge has a very slightly increased risk of a neural tube defect (like spina bifida). I got that phone call 10 minutes before my first class started on the first day of school. :headache: Luckily, the specialist was able to get us in quickly, and the risk isn't that elevated... in a normal pregnancy, the risk is 1 in 250; our risk is 1 in 230... that's a 0.02% increase in risk. I'll definitely update after that appointment, too... we could use all the good thoughts & prayers people can spare, though (and if you're a friend of mine on FB, please don't mention this there).

I'm off to bed now (I'm telling you, simply exhausted!!!), but I hope to be able to update really, really soon!

Interrupting this trip report to let my loyal reader(s?) know that we had our doctor appointment today. Smudge is looking good, they didn't see anything that could have caused the abnormal test result, so they want me to do more frequent ultrasounds from here on out, but otherwise, things are good.

And....

Smudge is a ....

Woo-hoo!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo:

That is awesome news!! "Smudge" does sound a little boyish, anyway... ;)

Congrats...I know you are excited to begin buying and preparing for him! :yay:

Congratulations!
I will be praying that he will be the healthiest little guy ever.

It will be fun to watch you plan for (and even name ;) ) this wonderful blessing from above. :woohoo:
