Took the plunge and booked us for the Fireworks Dessert party (Plaza Garden Viewing). Since my mom is coming and given how it's gone the last couple of years waiting for the show, I decided to try this. My son is 9 and I'm the tallest between my daughter, my mom and me at 5'5". Hoping this makes things much easier.
In 2017, I got us a spot and since the kids were old enough, I went to get food. The plan was to sit on the sidewalk and eat to pass the time. I was the 4th person in line to order but ended up waiting almost 40 minutes just to order because the person in front of me had an allergy in her group. It took over 30 minutes for the manager to come to the cashier to note the allergy. I get it that's the policy; but it should not take that long for the manager to come over. By the time I got back and found the kids, they were making everyone stand up.
Last year, I got smart and used the app to order ahead. Ordered while we were in line for our last ride on IASW (one of our favorites). Walked in and the food was ready. We ate in the restaurant and had plenty of time to still get a spot. For some reason they made everyone stand up an hour prior to the show. By the time we saw the show and got on our resort bus, our feet were literally burning. Doing a lot of walking is one thing; but just standing in one spot like that was torture. We did get to witness a marriage proposal which was sweet.
So this year, I'm treating us and our feet to the dessert party. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Also decided not to add a day to our tickets so I switched our Crystal Palace breakfast to a Cape Maye Breakfast on departure day.
