The New House - with photos links

A little diser told me you all like the house building threads-
and I know those of us building LOVE to talk about and share ...

It all started with a dream... of course...
then we stumbled on the land in Northern Central MA!
After MONTHS of dealing with engineers and the conservation committee we had a green light and a closing!

THen it took a year to FIND a house I LOVED on the exterior and to rework the interior to our needs! We hired someone to draw up the official plans!
It ALSO took a year to finish the driveway (not to anyone who cares a John Deere 310 is great for small jobs - but driveways are NOT small jobs!)

*edited to add that the foundtion off the garage (like an L) is for an inlaw apartment 28x34

AUGH - I am all set with the NEXT ONE
that is why this one is larger than the original plans (if you looked at the floorplan with the furniture - the foundation of the house is 52.6 x 40 and the garage is three bay - Finished basement - we are NOT outgrowing this one - lol

I LOVE your house though - I was jealous of the 'turret' and YOU probably have a jacuzzi tub with a window (sigh) Our bathroom didn't have a window so I forfeited the tub for a HUGe walk in shower and dh said somedfay he will get me a jacuzzi out off the deck or something !

Glad things are coming along for you. We started the whole process in January. We have gone through so much crap. Now we are going to FINALLY be closing. Then are driveway, through 2 farm foundation, over a gas line that a neighbor put in, and 1100 feet back. oh yeah, i can't wait. Have fun!!!
