The Kingdom Tower

I was talking with family yesterday about how the Contemporary rooms were built offsite by US Steel. I looked it up on Wikipedia and was surprised to find that the Polynesian was built the same way. WIkipedia also mentioned that the resorts were designed by Welton Becket and Associates. Curious about what else they designed, I looked them up on Google. The first site that comes up is called Emporis. Navigating to the "Walt Disney World" link (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/cx/?id=waltdisneyworld-lakebuenavista) allows you to see what else they designed at there. Especially of interest to this group is a link called "The Kingdom Tower". I know a while back it was reported that Gwathmey Siegel & Associates had designed the new building. I don't know how they might be related. Oh well, the site doesn't really contain any new information, but I thought you all might get a kick out of it anyway.

Okay, so after some further research, Emporis.com seems to be website about buildings. It doesn't seem like Welton Becket and Associates has anything to do with Kingdom Towers.

they just need to add a "points available to purchase" date on there :rotfl:

Under "Companies", Gwathmey Siegel & Associates is listed in the "G" section on page 83. When you click on their name, Kingdom Tower isn't listed, but that doesn't surprise me......:hippie:

OMG, the "round" side of the KT looks just like the air purifier in my bedroom! Including the "knob" on the top.

It will forever be imprinted on my brain as the "Air Cleaner" DVC.:rotfl:

I was at Doorway To Dreams (DVC sales center near Chicago) this week and one of the guides told me that Kingdom Tower will NOT be the final/official name of that building. She said it would be called something else. Just FYI! ;)
