The Fabby LapuLapuettes Part III: Our Rum Is Still Gone

I hate the flu. Marc just went to get me some ginger ale and other sick staples but I think I am just going to go back to bed. I have a lovely routine of sleeping for an hour then getting up.

OH NO! I hope it goes by quickly and you feel better soon, LL!

And Liam had his 18 mo. check up today. He's very healthy and growing right on target. And he is making all his milestones except one....speech. I think I've briefly mentioned before that he doesn't talk. A child his age should have about 10 words.....he has 3.....Hi, Bye and Yay!!! And that's the same as 3 months ago....he's not making any progress and isn't showing any real signs of progress. So his doctor is referring Liam to a private speech specialist to be evaluated. After that (most likely) he will get in home early invention from the State of NH with a speech therapist. I'm very pleased that his doctor doesn't want to wait to get him help. Hopefully this will help....I've shed a couple tears over this....it's hard not hearing your perfect little boy say Mama or Dada.

My brother and sister had extremely limited speech when they were younger, and the therapist that my mom worked with did wonders!!!!! Now it isn't even noticable.

I am sending lots of  and :goodvibes your way!!!!!

GIRLS--I just got back from Harry, and it was WONDERFUL!!!!! He is SO talented, SUPER funny, and not to rough on the eyes either...know what I mean?!?!?!?! We had a great time, and Megan was SO good!!! We also drove right past Harry on our way out of the parking garage---we shouted and waved, but had to keep going! So much fun---I highly recommend going to anyone if he comes to a town near you!!! You will LOVE it! I will speak more of this in the morning!

He is not bad to look at!!! I listened to his holiday CD last night and thought of you and Megan! I am glad you had fun!

 Feel Better LL!!! :goodvibes

Thank you to everyone for your kind words about Liam and his speech. It's nice to know that even with our tiny group we're not alone in our situation.

Holy carp! I forgot! woohoo... can't wait :yay:

I am just so excited about Grey's -- Thursday is, without a doubt, my favorite television night!

Thank you to everyone for your kind words about Liam and his speech. It's nice to know that even with our tiny group we're not alone in our situation.

Nope, and we all have happy endings to our situations so that hopefully makes you feel a little better!

Ladies, let me pick your brain.

I have the organist at the church where we are getting married all booked and she asked if we wanted to have a violin or a harp or a string quartet! I know I would like a vocal soloist. I love music so I would love to have one of the other musicians as a part of it.

Which one do you think I should go for?

Could you do a string quartet and ask for a violin solo during their performance?

My BIL had a harpist play at his wedding; it was really after the wedding & into the reception - I think it was during the cocktail hour while the wedding party was finishing formal photographs - and it was romantic and wonderful

That would be pretty!

I have told her that I would love music playing lightly in the background while we exchange vows. And I wanted Ave Maria played durring the rememberance portion of the ceremony, because that was my grandfather's favorite song.

I'd go for the harp...it's amazing what songs they can play on a harp.

Liam will come along in his own time and I'm sure the therapy will help.
My 18 m.o. godson is the opposite. He talks about EVERYTHING. Perhaps I should come visit with him and he can engage Liam in a conversation? :goodvibes

Which would likely be about trucks, trucks, cars, the sound the snake makes and trucks. He's into trucks, can you tell?

BUT...

The poor boy has had more digestive issues than is fair for ANY little nugget. I can't even explain to you here without gross detail what happens when the boy has any amount of red meat.

Your Liam is still a perfect little boy. It's just that they all have their own timelines.

OH!

And I'll be NO help on the quartet/violin/harp debate. I'd want 'em all.
What can I say?
I'm a princess:

Good Evening Lapuettes.

I am still not feeling very well. I slept most of the day and just managed to hold down some gingerale and saltines.

I am going to try really hard to stay awake for Grey's.

I'm a little late getting in on this but I just wanted to add my bit. My 4 yo was very slow to begin talking! When we went for his 2 year appointment, he only had about 10 words and the doctor really paused when I told her this. I have had some concerns about his development (He's had various medical issues in his short life and I'm still sometimes concerned that he has a mild form of autism) but he is coming along according to his own timeline. He now talks up a storm at home.

I'm glad that you are getting some evaluations though. That should give you either some reassurance that he is OK or give you the steps toward getting him help that he may need. Either way, I hope you gain some peace of mind.

Well it was a busy day here. They started the concrete portion of the addition foundation....the "footings" are done, if you know what that means.

Congrats on getting more done with the addition!

And Heidi, some  in regard to Liam. I'm with the other ladies, I'm sure he'll be just fine. The therapy will be helpful, and sometimes, children are on their own timetable, which is totally different than what we expect.

I was worried about DS as well. He didn't have a huge vocabulary, but I remember one day it was just like an EXPLOSION of words! Good ones, I mean. :lmao: And he hasn't stopped talking since. As a matter of fact, I think he'd get along with Tink's godson swimmingly.

I'm sure Liam will be just fine, but it's good to know you have a progressive doctor. That's half the battle sometimes.

Guess who woke up with the flu this morning?

Not Sulley.

Not Ruby.

Not Marc.

Me. Hopefully I will wake up in a few hours and this will all be dream.

Hope you feel better soon, hon!

Ok, not zen but TOO funny.....!

.

Did you know the Wizard of Oz has been playing on different channels lately? I can't help but watch it when it's on!

TK, I will definitely post the pecan pie recipe that I use, and I am all for a recipe swap!

Thank you! I'm hoping to make it for Thanksgiving. I'm in charge of dessert. :thumbsup2

First of all, I can't BELIEVE Disney is messing with my Pirate and Princess party. If they really do get rid of them I'm totally changing my dates to something sooner.

I'm so bummed. Last year, when Mom and Nana went in May, I had to take the time off from work because there would be no one to watch DS. (Normally my mother does.) So literally, I could have been in Disney then.

Enjoying Flower and Garden Festival.

And meeting Jack Sparrow.

How bummed am I now that it looks like they aren't offering them anymore! I really wanted to go to one, but it's looking more and more like TarzansKat will never meet Captain Jack.

Ah well. :guilty:

Hurray for all you Twilight fans! I hope everyone enjoys seeing the movie tonight, and that's it's wonderful, and fantastic, and romantic, and everything we love about the series.

And pretty, pretty please? No spoilers, okay? I know I won't be able to make it there this weekend, so I don't want to have to avoid the thread completely. Thanks guys!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday, and a great weekend! :goodvibes

Since I'm the black sheep of the group and have no interest in seeing or reading Twilight you don't have to worry about spoilers from me! In fact every time I see the movie trailer I think "oh look they re-made Lost Boys".

Amen, sister! Only I can't stop thinking (as we've talked about before), "Hi Cedric"!
