The Devil Horns Ride Again! A Rockin’ Jan/Feb TR New PTR Link 10/13!

Your breakfast looks yummy.

Glad you got to see the Welcome Show, love the pictures.

Wow can't believe Jim had never been on Peter Pan!

Love all the Tangled restroom pictures, nice getting to take them with no one around!

Mickey Waffles are always yummy!

After thinking about it, Jim did ride PP on our Honeymoon but that was 18 years ago and I don't think he remember it at all.

It was nice to be in the Tangled area with no one around.

Awesome CBR photos! I've never stayed there so it's great seeing all of those photos. Breakfast looks good. I love Mickey waffles too. I'm glad the CM did get you something to substitute for the bacon or sausage.

I love the welcome show but it's been over 2 years since I've seen it. With the last two RunDisney trips I just haven't been able to see it.

What Jim had never been in PP! I'm glad he finally got on it though.

CBR is a beautiful resort, I love staying there.

I love the Welcome Show and try to see it every trip.

I did remember that Jim rode PP on our Honeymoon but that was ages ago.

:scared1: Never ridden Peter Pan?! WhaaaaAAATT? How could this be?!

I think it's pretty funny that on my list of must-do's for our November trip, a visit to this bathroom is near the top

Well, after I thought about it, we did ride PP on our Honeymoon 18 years before but I doubt he remembered it at all. It was closed for renovations in October 2013 and then in May 2014 we were more focused on getting in character meets in the morning and by the time we got to PP the line was too long.

That bathroom area is definitely worth being on a must-do list!

Amazing how we all get giddy about bathrooms.. crazy fun!
Thank goodness he had on two shirts at least he had the tee! yuck on the heat!!!

Did Jim love peter pan? It is a hard ride to photograph. going to fast and the dark neon is tough!

I know, even bathrooms at Disney are an attraction!

Honestly he's a guy and everything is just OK. I don't really think he felt one way or the other about the ride. It's weird, sometimes I get great shots on PP and other times nothing. I still haven't figured out why.

Wow. We rode Peter Pan first on that day as well. Crazy....but you took a picture of me, DW, DD6(now 7), and DS10, waiting for the welcome show!
View attachment 177804

OK, so that is really cool that you found me in your photos! Maybe you will see yourselves again! I take massive amounts of pictures so you never know.

Never ridden Peter Pan?! What did he think of the classic? :)

Glad you got a nice warm day to finish up your trip!!

I did think back a bit and we did ride on our Honeymoon 18 years ago but I'm sure he didn't remember. And he's a guy, no real reaction to most rides.

It was almost too warm that day!

Love Magic Kingdom Mornings!! Your Country Bears Jamboree T-Shirt is totally adorable. What did Jim think of Peter Pan?

Thanks, I love that shirt! Don't really know what Jim thought, he didn't have much to say about it.

Trekking through the Wild West, Tortuga and the Jungle

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was up next on our agenda so we made our way there.

Definitely liking that wait time!

Pirates was next which was also a walk on. As a matter of fact our boat wasn’t completely full, the front row was empty. We were in the 2nd row but luckily did not get wet. For some reason the only pictures I took were these two from the line.

We skipped over the Tiki Bird Room for the time being since it never has a long wait and instead headed down to the Jungle Cruise.

The crowds were finally starting to arrive and we waited about 10 minutes.

We were seated on the middle crates which lead to pictures like this.

I tried zooming in to get past the heads but then the pictures were coming out blurry.

I gave up after that and just enjoyed the ride.

It was now time for our first FP of the day for Space Mountain from 10 am – 11 am. But Jim was getting hungry thanks to skipping breakfast. Our lunch ADR was not until 12:35 pm so I figured I better get some food in him before he got hangry. He was determined to find Doritos so we started looking as we crossed the Hub towards Tomorrowland. I knew there was a stand that had them in Fronterland but I didn’t want to back track. I can always eat myself so I stopped at a stand in the Hub and got a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich.

We searched all through Tomorrowland and could not find Doritos so we headed to Space Mountain instead to use our FP. I got handed a red card which made Jim jealous. Sorry, blurry picture as I was trying to walk and take a picture at the same time.

We went with the signature Devil Horns for this ride photo.

Jim wanted to continue the search for Doritos but I didn’t want to leave Tomorrowland without riding the TTA so we hopped on there next.

Jim decided that he was too hungry to wait any longer and would get a pretzel instead so we headed over to the Cool Ship to get him one.

But low and behold, way in the back of the stand, pretty well hidden, was a rack of chips. We had totally missed them when we walked by before. So Jim got his Doritos after all! Think he was happy?

Up Next: Jim is a Star and Has His Own Statue

Wow you got a ton done that morning. BTMRR is great no matter what the time of day is.

Jungle Cruise is always fun.

Great Space mountain photos. I love getting the red cards.

Peoplemover is always a must do. I am glad Jim found some Doritos too.

HA! the trek for Doritos! You always have an adventure even for chips!
Love those wait times! perfection! I am hearing Sept is no longer the best time to go to Disney.. I hope for the same wait times in 2017!! If not we will be rethinking our trip times!

Great luck getting on 3 rides with really short waits!

Good thing Jim ended up finding his Doritos! I approve of your mickey ice cream choice more though :)

Beautiful pictures, as always :) Loving the Devil Horns, of course! My favorite picture of Jim ever, I think, is the smile over finding Doritos--plus, you made a little guest appearance in his glasses--that is awesome!

Great morning! I keep telling my DW that we need to head over to BTMRR after rope drop.

Rope drop is just so great to get stuff done. I love heading to Adventureland and Fronterland at that time because everyone else heads to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Red cards are the best!

Yep, the Great Dorito Adventure of 2016. :rotfl2:

The wait times were only like that for the first hour. It definitely got much, much more crowded as the day went on.

Great luck getting on 3 rides with really short waits!

Good thing Jim ended up finding his Doritos! I approve of your mickey ice cream choice more though :)

Getting there early for rope drop pays off!

Love me some Mickey Ice Cream. I wish they sold those around here, my fridge would be stocked.

Thanks! He was pretty darn happy over those Doritos. And I was wondering if anyone would notice me in the reflection!

Great morning! I keep telling my DW that we need to head over to BTMRR after rope drop.

Yes, Adventureland and Fronterland are awesome at rope drop because everyone else heads to other areas of the park.

Jim is a Star and Has His Own Statue

We still had a lot of time before our next FP for Mine Train from 11:35 – 12:35 so Jim asked if we could go see Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor. We would have probably hit up Buzz Lightyear at this point but it was closed for renovations while we were there.

The next picture is blurry but I wanted to show what the line looked like.

Despite that line, we were still in and seated for the show in about 15 minutes. And Jim got picked to be in the show! He was asked what city he was from and then the Monster told him facts about the city. I don’t remember what she said but they were definitely not true facts about Atlanta. She asked Jim if they were correct and in his most dead pan voice he said “no”. The Monster’s jaw dropped and she just stared at him for a minute and then said “I don’t like him, let’s talk to someone else”. Jim was in heaven, he loves being singled out like that.

We had killed enough time with the Monster’s Inc. show so it was now time to head to the Mine Train for our next FP. We would be back to Tomorrowland later that evening to see Carousel of Progress, one of Jim’s favorites.

We walked through the FP line and were soon boarding our mine car. This was Jim’s first time riding the Mine Train.

I did try to take a few pictures this time but only two sort of came out.

And of course, the required photo of the Dwarfs cottage on the way out of the exit.

Jim really enjoyed the ride, it was right at his speed, but he said that BTMR was still his favorite coaster.

We headed into Storybook Circus next because I wanted to ride Dumbo. Unfortunately the line was super long, I think like 45 minutes, and that would not work with our lunch ADR. But I checked my Character app and saw that Gaston would be out shortly. I was pretty sure we could fit it in and if not, we could just exit the line. We backtracked to Belle’s Village and just made it into the line. The CM cut it off after the family behind us and Gaston wasn’t even out yet!

Gaston was great as always. He pointed out his statue to us and then asked if Jim had one. Jim told him of course he did! The guys spent some time bragging about their statues then we took some pictures.

Our lunch ADR was right around the corner at Be Our Guest. This was one of Jim’s request and even though we planned the trip well after the 180 day mark I was still able to get an ADR with a little work.

There was a bit of a line to check in so we got in it. If you remember, I mentioned that our ADR was at 12:35. Well it was 12:27 when I got to the front of the line and the CM turned me away because I wasn’t allowed to check in till 5 minutes before my time. I was a little annoyed with that one, I mean, come on, it was only 3 minutes. But I didn’t say anything, just got back in line and by the time I got to the front again, it was 12:30 and we could check in.

Jim did not want to pre-order, so we got in the longer line to place our order. It gave me a minute to find and photograph the Hidden Mickey in the Suites of Armor room.

It was slow going and Jim asked me why we didn’t pre-order. I reminded him that he didn’t want to and that stopped the complaining. Once we made it to the front of the line, we figured out why it was so slow. All of the ordering kiosks were down and they had a handful of CMs taking orders on I-pads.

We place our order and then proceeded into the Ballroom and found a table.

Jim got the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich with green beans.

And I got the Carved Turkey Sandwich without the Dijon Mayonnaise and fries.

For dessert I got my favorite chocolate cupcake and Jim got the lemon one.

Everything was wonderful. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that BOG lunch is my favorite of the three meals offered there. I have a reservation made for Mom and me for lunch in December.

When we finished up, we were within the time of our final FP for Haunted Mansion from 1:30 – 2:30 so we headed that way. The FP was definitely needed.

I took a few pictures as we walked through the FP line.

And my attempts at pictures during the ride.

When we exited, there was a PP photographer right there so of course we stopped.

I thought about getting a fourth FP at this point but we had already ridden most of the big rides we wanted to. The afternoon was going to be devoted to mostly shows. With that in mind we headed towards the first show of the day, Hall of Presidents. Not really my favorite but it is one of Jim’s and a must do for him. We just missed a show and since each one is 22 minutes we had a bit of a wait. We found a bench and relaxed until it was time to enter the theater.

No pictures from the show, I always feel that my camera screen is too bright and I don’t want to disturb those around me.

We actually missed Hall of Presidents during our trip. It's a great way to sit for a while and a history lesson. I do remember wait times getting fairly high that day, we were able to schedule quite a few additional fastpasses.

Sounds like a fun time for Jim at Monsters Inc! And I'm glad he enjoyed his first ride on Mine Train!

Great pics with Gaston. I love lunch at BOG too, I'm glad it didn't dissapoint!

That's awesome that Jim got picked to be part of laugh floor.

I'm with Jim that BTMRR is better than 7DMT, we share the same favorite coaster.

I have yet to meet gaston. Whenever we are in that area he's never out.

I like the turkey sandwich at BoG lunch as well. I think I like dinner better at BoG though. I haven't tried the breakfast yet.

HM is always a must do.

I haven't been in Hall of Presidents since 2012 and nothing has changed since then so I probably won't go back until the next president, even though it's scary to think of the current candidates as AAs in that attraction.

And Jim got picked to be in the show! He was asked what city he was from and then the Monster told him facts about the city. :lmao:How cool that he got picked!

Great pic of you two! But...that lady in front of you looks :scared:

the CM turned me away because I wasn’t allowed to check in till 5 minutes before my time.
That wasn't a very nice CM :worried:

It was slow going and Jim asked me why we didn’t pre-order. I reminded him that he didn’t want to and that stopped the complaining.
:rolleyes2 Men.

When we finished up, we were within the time of our final FP for Haunted Mansion from 1:30 – 2:30 so we headed that way. The FP was definitely needed.

This reminds me...I think I read somewhere that when doing the stand-by line at HM (b/c you don't have a FP+), there is one path that takes you through the interactive queue and another that takes you on a slightly shorter queue because it skips the interactive part. Can anyone tell me if this is this right?

Buzz Lightyear at this point but it was closed for renovations while we were there.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?
i am dumbfounded! just nothing i cannot believe YOU couldn't ride and beat the all time scores!

And Jim got picked to be in the show!

this is the best!! I would have been crying laughing so hard!

I don’t like him, let’s talk to someone else”. Jim was in heaven, he loves being singled out like that.

EVEN FUNNIER!

MK_MINETRAIN_7598234650_zpsrgidgr06.jpeg

OK you and Jim are awesome!
But the people in front of you? best.

Jim told him of course he did!

BAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I love Jim.. so are you still going to tell the lies of him NOT being a Disney fan?

he didn’t want to and that stopped the complaining.

You get em.

I got my favorite chocolate cupcake

Oh what i wouldn't do for one of those right now.

The FP was definitely needed.

Holy moley!

I WILL get the perfect shot of this one of these years!

Everything was wonderful. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that BOG lunch is my favorite of the three meals offered there. I have a reservation made for Mom and me for lunch in December.

We had pre-ordered when we ate lunch at BOG last month. It turned out to be not much faster because their system was glitchy that day. But the food was good. My favorite is the braised pork and the lemon raspberry tart - yum. :)

I got to participate in the Monsters Laugh floor. I didn't have to leave my seat, though. I think it was a guess the number thing. It was fun. :) Jim must have had a blast. :)

Mo and I were thinking the exact same thing about the people in front of you on 7DMT--seriously?! I love that lady's terror :)

Why didn't we pre-order? eh, I thought it'd be fun to wait in this long line. Wait a minute--that was YOUR idea, dear!! :rotfl:

I hope I finally get to meet Gaston this trip!! I always see people's great pictures and awesome interactions and I'm so jealous!!!!

Uh oh...hibernating bears. That can't be good.

We actually missed Hall of Presidents during our trip. It's a great way to sit for a while and a history lesson. I do remember wait times getting fairly high that day, we were able to schedule quite a few additional fastpasses.

Both my Brother and Husband love HOP so I get to see it quite often. I probably would have scheduled some more FP but we really had ridden everything that needed one at that point.

Sounds like a fun time for Jim at Monsters Inc! And I'm glad he enjoyed his first ride on Mine Train!

Great pics with Gaston. I love lunch at BOG too, I'm glad it didn't dissapoint!

Jim did have a great time at Monsters Inc. He loves being in the shows.

I've always had great meals at BOG, I really love that turkey sandwich.

Jim loves attention so he was really happy to be a part of the show.

Definitely try to find Gaston if you get a chance, he is really fun to meet. You really need to figure out his set times because he's only out for about a 1/2 hour at a time with breaks in between.

I probably won't see HOP again till after the change and I agree that I can't see either candidate there!

:lmao:How cool that he got picked!

He had a blast!

Great pic of you two! But...that lady in front of you looks :scared:

I know, I have no idea what could be that scary about 7DMT?

That wasn't a very nice CM :worried:

I think that was what he was instructed to do because I wasn't the only one turned away.

:rolleyes2 Men.

Yep, totally agree with that one!

This reminds me...I think I read somewhere that when doing the stand-by line at HM (b/c you don't have a FP+), there is one path that takes you through the interactive queue and another that takes you on a slightly shorter queue because it skips the interactive part. Can anyone tell me if this is this right?

It was that way at one time (I think before FP+ was introduced but I'm not sure) but now everyone in the Standby line has to go through the graveyard. Well, I think they may open the shorter route if there is no line but not when the wait time is high.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?
i am dumbfounded! just nothing i cannot believe YOU couldn't ride and beat the all time scores!

I know, I was so sad when I found out Buzz was going to be closed while we were there.

BAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I love Jim.. so are you still going to tell the lies of him NOT being a Disney fan?

Oh he is a fan now but he will never reach my level. He's fine with once a year and I would live there if I could.

You get em.

I always love when I can put him in his place. :rotfl:

Oh what i wouldn't do for one of those right now.

Me too. It's all I can do to stop myself from licking the screen.

Holy moley!

Yeah, the crowds had definitely arrived! Rope Drop really paid off on that day.

I WILL get the perfect shot of this one of these years!

I try for that one almost every time I ride.

We had pre-ordered when we ate lunch at BOG last month. It turned out to be not much faster because their system was glitchy that day. But the food was good. My favorite is the braised pork and the lemon raspberry tart - yum. :)

I've actually never pre-ordered except once for breakfast. I wish I could try the pork, it looks delicious, but I can't eat pork. It bothers my stomach.

He did have a blast! I don't think they ever have anyone leave their seat, they just come to you.

Mo and I were thinking the exact same thing about the people in front of you on 7DMT--seriously?! I love that lady's terror :)

Why didn't we pre-order? eh, I thought it'd be fun to wait in this long line. Wait a minute--that was YOUR idea, dear!! :rotfl:

Uh oh...hibernating bears. That can't be good.

How is 7DMT that scary? Seriously!

It's always fun when I can put him in his place!

Yes, you must meet Gaston, he's a blast.

What Do You Mean My Bears are Hibernating?

Since I was wearing my Country Bear Jamboree shirt I had to visit my bears this trip! We got there only to find out that they were “hibernating” (broken down) and the CM did not know when they would be awake again.

Instead we continued on to Adventureland to see another favorite of mine, the Tiki Birds! We just missed a show once again so we had a bit of wait.

I failed again to take any pictures during the show. Not sure what was going on with that?

We trekked back to the CBJ but they were still hibernating so instead we went back over towards BTMR and Splash Mountain. While I had met Woody before, Jessie was a new character for me and I wanted to add her to my list. They were not out yet and we got in a very short line. I think there were only about five families in front of us. They came out shortly after and then the line filled up very fast. It really pays to know what time the characters will be coming out and get in line a few minutes before that time.

They were both very cute but I don’t remember anything specific. It’s been way too long since this trip to remember all of the details!

We went back to CBJ one more time and the bears were finally awake! I was pretty excited to see my favorite, Big Al.

And I actually took some pictures this time!

There were a few more rides I wanted to catch in Fantasyland so that was our next destination. We got sidetracked a bit in Liberty Square when I spotted a PP photographer in a place I hadn’t seen before.

It’s a Small World was our destination.

The wait time said 25 minutes be we were on in less than 10.

Jim gave me his best “is this ride over yet?” face.

Not quite.

Time check as we exited the ride.

Little Mermaid was next. The wait time said 20 minutes which was pretty accurate.

They really need to rework Eric and Ariel’s faces on these next animatronics. Just so weird looking.

Up Next: Stuck in Time and The End

Such a bummer that Country Bears were down, but glad they finally woke up!

Great pic with Woody & Jessie!

Glad you got to do some Fantasyland rides that you still wanted to do!

OMG, totally agree with the faces of Ariel and Price Eric in the end sequence of the Little Mermaid ride....super creepy!
